Loss of links HTML and Word to PDF conversion

Hi, when I convert a Web page or a word to PDF document, the links show as blue underlined fonts, but the URL is missing, and so the link is not active. I checked that "add links" is checked in my conversion settings. The same thing happens when I print to Adobe PDF, or when I select the menu "convert to PDF".

I use Adobe Pro X and Word 2003. My OS is Windows XP.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Paul

First of all, by using the Adobe PDF printer to create PDF won't get you links.

Second, try to drag your HTML files directly in Acrobat to see what is happening.  If you aren't yet getting links then I would repair or reinstall Acrobat X

    Hello

I installed the Acrobat Pro trial using Word 2007 on my computer (Windows xp).

The Word file, I have a lot of links on the pictures. When I click on one, it pushes me on a title later in the file.

After you have converted this file to PDF with Acrobat Pro trial plugin in Word 2007, one link is still running. 90% of the others have disappeared and others have changed their destination.

I have not really any idea of walkthrough because I don't know what the problem is. I also have links on a few words on this file and everything works perfectly.

Y at - it someone help me, please? I looked on many forums but I found nothing.

In addition, in the menu options, select "highlight the content.

Expand tree in the content panel and move the top/bottom of the tree where the point is highest.

  • How to add link to the downloadable word or pdf file

I want to add a link to a word or pdf document, so that the user can download the file on their computer,

fill out some information and then send the form to a registry office.  I don't want to create a form

in DW because I don't have a database to store the registration information.  Registration is for

an event of the small group Church, (low volume) so I want to do something simple and fast.

    Thank you!

Simply create the pdf file and add a link to it, as you would for any web page - include a link to download the software Acrobat reader as well.  I would avoid using a Word file, in which case the person may not have Word installed on their machine.

I've been getting (and ignorant) this alert in Word 2016 and finally google it. It seems to be linked to additional Adobe with the file name linkCreation.dotm which was installed with Acrobat DC. This Microsoft Web site recommends the deletion of linkCreation.dotm. Until I delete it, I would like to learn more about this file.

  • How to maintain links into a Word document into a PDF file?

I just bought and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on my Lenovo ThinkPad E555 running Windows 10.

The only reasons I bought 10 Acrobat is because my old version of Acrobat 7 cannot be installed on the new machine because you have turned off the phone as the lineage of the old product.  Acrobat 7 had a great feature that I use all the time - it allows me to make a PDF of a MSWord document that preserves embedded HTML links that would work in the PDF document.

Now that I have installed Pro DC, I can't figure out how to make a PDF that retains links to MS Word.  For example, if I type this:

http://www.ClickShare.com making the PDF with this clickable link.  But if I type:

Clickshare Service Corp..  (with the embeded link) it will support only forward.

Unfortunately, Acrobat Pro DC is useless for me if he won't and I'm going to uninstall it and bring the disc to the retailer for a full refund.

Please explain to me how to activate this feature. I have to nose around the unofficial forms and find other people with the same problem.

I would be recognizing an email from Adobe technology: [email protected] (Bill) you will see that I am a registered user of a current product, so please help me out here.

    Hi densmore53,

Please use PDFMaker plugin of the Word application to convert Word to PDF with embedded links. Can I know the version of MS Office you use on this machine and the workflow to convert Word files to PDF format.

I have a pdf very complicated with many links. I need to link individual file words that are in a series of folders. How can I connect to a folder instead of just a file?

If you set the link to the PDF files, then use the command "Go to a page view", then link to the specific location in the file that you want to run when the user clicks on the link. If you have a link to other file formats, then use the command "open a file". Remember that these links are relative (if the other file is on the same drive as the source file), so if you move the PDF file you need to move these files and folders with him or the links are broken.

  • Acrobat Reader DC works fine and opens a PDF file without problem - until I have a word document open as well-, then the PDF file crashes. I can't open a PDF file, a word document is also open.

For troubleshooting, you can disable the Protected Mode (https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/using/protected-mode-windows.html#id_94783) and see if that solves the problem. If the problem persists, please re-enable the Protected Mode to improve safety.

  • Mac: no PDFMaker, so impression of Word to PDF has inactive links

I wrote a fabulous document in Microsoft Word, which has the numbering of paragraphs, and many "insert > reference...' links in paragraphs." And it contains a lot of ' insert > hyperlink...' links to external documents. It's fabulous.

If I saved it as a PDF using a Windows machine, these links would function in the PDF file. Clicking on a reference would jump. by clicking on an external link would command the default browser to do the most obvious thing. Hooray!

But on the Mac, external links are not there. Not if I do "Save as PDF...". ', or if I do it via Adobe Acrobat XI with "Save as Adobe PDF".

If the link text is " " http://... " then drive PDF Devine there is a link, and it works. But if ordinary words have been transformed into a link, it is formatted like a link but it's inactive.

Please, how Adobe persuade to release PDFMaker for Mac? Or otherwise to do this work? (Adobe Acrobat XI: help and tutorials (September 2013), on page 46: "PDFMaker is not available for Mac OS.) However, you can still create a PDF of many business applications using the file > print command. In the print dialog box, choose menu, save the PDF AsAdobe PDF file. »)

FYI, I also asked this issue on the Microsoft side, but other than to discover that PDFMaker solve my problem, if it existed for Mac, which did not help.

    Versions:

    Mac: OS X Mavericks 10.9.5

Word: Word for Mac 2011 14.4.3 Version (140616)

    Adobe Acrobat XI: 11.0.09

  • Windows Help and support links opens with Word

Original title: windows help and support links does not not correctly__

my colleague tried to 'fix' my computer while I was on vacation and it reindexed. Now when I try to load the links help and support it loads Word instead of Explorer. How can I solve this problem?

    Hey dhender,

Looks like the file association is messed up. Change the file association for help and Support and see if it works.

Here's how to fix the associated file.

    a. Click Start and type default programs in the start search field.

    b. click default programs list programs.

    c. click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program.

    d. find the .hlp file.

    e. Select .hlp file and click Change program.

    f. Select Windows Winhlp32 Stub list.

    This should be it.

Detailed explanation of the file association is available here.

I don't know anything about Macintosh or its files, but if it isn't
a standard .txt file, simply read it in Word, and then do a backup with regard
Save it as a .doc or .docx file.

    Hi judithl34724699,

If you want to convert Word files to PDF with the Adobe Reader application then it is possible with the service Pack of PDF. Try to use the service on the web: https://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf

Also try to use a different file type.

  • Can you Adobe Acrobat help with import of tracking changes and comments in Microsoft Word and convert these annotations and comments in PDF format?

I have a Word doc huge with more than 3,000 of the changes and comments to track changes. I hope that there is a way that Adobe Acrobat can simplify the conversion of annotations and comments of an annotated PDF file in just a few steps - vs having to do this work manually. Appreciate the tips and recommendations! Thank you!

Acrobat and Word are quite different types of applications. Namely, Acrobat isn't a word processing application, although many people think that it is and try to use it as such. Therefore, I don't think that this is possible. Annotations in the PDF file are nothing like the changes you can make in a Word file, or vice versa.
