Lost on Win7 Ultimate admin account

Hello

Hands up OK - I made a really stupid mistake while experimenting with remote desktop.  I noticed that you couldn't connect with desktop remotely when a user account admin has been connected with thinking, so I changed the settings of the user in question only to realize that it was the only one with admin rights.  Now, I don't have an administrator account.

I am unable to run any program as administrator because the admin password section is disabled.  I can't get the PC to start saving mode as F8 does not respond during the boot process.  I run the DVD original and active the administrator account by using the command line "net user administrator / Active: Yes" and despite the confirmation is received, the account is still not visible at the start of the machine.  And, because I don't have the admin rights that I seem to not have the ability to perform a restore.  Finally, I would try to add a new account on the command line by using 'net user username password/add' but I do not see how to give the new user administrator rights, but my original DVD of windows now comes with a compatibility error when I try and get into the repair option!  It is a real DVD OEM and NOT a repair or recovery disk vendors.

Clearly, I have learned my lesson because I don't have a recovery disc but I have other options available or I am faced with a complete reinstallation of the operating system?

Thank you.

System restored from the installation DVD and the system is back to normal.

Full backup of the system completed and scheduled for each week and also prepared a repair disc.  New restore point created.

Thanks for your help, advice and tips.

There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Use the password indicator (only works if an indicator was created and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)

  • How can I use my admin account when I forgot my computer password?

I was recently reading to make a password reset disk. I did it successfully. I also redesigned and strengthened my index of password to make it just something I'll remember.

I also read that I could also connect to my laptop using my administrator account, if I forgot my password for the regular user. I don't know how to do this. The Vista Welcome screen shows my normal username when I start my computer. How to access my administrator account?

It comes to my laptop. I'm the only one using it.

A couple of years, I've had problems with one of the Service Packs. I had a very good help from Microsoft. One of the people helping me explained how to connect using the Admin account to display system information. I think she used the DOS prompt to change a setting. Then the Welcome screen showed the Admin account. But, if I can't log on my computer to do this, I can't do the account Admin appear on the Welcome screen. Is there another way to display the administrator account on the home screen?

  • hidden admin account is unlocked, how to show only in Mode safe

Recently, I've unlocked the Admin account hidden in my copy of Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  Currently, the account presents itself as one account of another in the normal logon window, and icons for other users.

I would like to know if there is a way to hide the account in the logon window and only allow him to show when it is safe mode is enacted (as in Windows XP).

    Hello

This allows try again. It is not good to use the hidden administrator account, as this is the last possible road
a difficulty if things go really wrong. So make another ADMIN account with your password even. You
then have two accounts administrator and any number of user accounts set up (not to mention
the moment hidden the ADMIN account).

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

I am new to Vista and Windows7 and all the reading I've done, I'm horrified to discover that I would have had a secondary user account whenever I go on the Internet and perform simple tasks.  (Right)?  I want to assure you that I know how to create the new account user correctly before I end up screwing up my brand new computer.  I lost my last one to a backdoor, OB had total control of my desktop and I have fear of death that does not happen.  Even a little paranoid, you could say!  So I apologize if this is a stupid and perhaps simple question for most of you guys... but for me, I need to make sure that I saw nothing!

    Hello

Control Panel - user accounts - manage another account - then create a new account

Make a new ADMIN with password-after it's over - REBOOT (do not just Logoff) and
Log on to this account. Once you are sure it works at least just REBOOT again to your regular Admin
account. Use only a new fix and test ONLY, do not use it on a regular basis. You can even make
Another ADMIN and have a backup of your backup (I do).

You can then create a user account of same way (same password is easy) and use it as needed. Is it more
ensure that your other ADMIN - yes - how much depends on how and what you do, but it is a lot or a
panacea for problems of security. Added that many, including myself, think that it's more trouble that it's worth
to use a user account when you are the admin.

Make sure you have antivirus and antispyware when running, Windows Firewall and also have prerequisite programs
to help you in case of a malware attack and you should be good to go. UAC to work if you feel that you
need for increased security and don't mind the hassle.

I have recently reinstalled Windows and I screw up the user names. This is what is stated in the users folder. All users, default user, Default (hidden), longsorr (grayed out), Public (grayed out), UpdatusUser. It should be default user, D..., my guests. When I was asked for the username during installation I gave longsorrow, thinking he was talking about the computer, time of elderly people. I tried to fix this and now got D... longsorrow. I also I created my guests and that is not the case on the list. Finally, I normally mode without fail get computers Admin user account and my account, what has not happened. 2. What account admin appear on the logon screen after you start the computer in safe mode?

I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue.

  • Screen black on the Admin account, but not on the standard user account

Run a laptop Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 Home ultimate. At startup, I log onto my user account. Some time later, I can access my admin account. Twice in two months after logging in to my admin account, the screen was black. The normal icons and the cursor appears. On the right side of the taskbar, the normal icons are displayed. On the left side of the taskbar, only the Start button appears. When I click on the Start button, it seems normal and programs will start when I click on them. However, the search of files and programs does not work.

The first time that has happened for a reason system restore did not work. I guess my antivirus system work even if I had turned off temporarily. Basically, I created a new admin account and then copied the files from the old account to the new account admin.

During the problem that I can connect and disable the account of user with no problems and everything works normally.

I did a system restore and then I was able to access windows Explorer, but could not set the background picture, the libraries did not display correctly even if the files were there when I looked at the file of the user on the drive actually.

It is a very confusing problem.

    RobertWeiner,

You cannot run SFC without being Administrator utility. for which please select the control mode (go to the windows folder, search cmd.exe. you will find several results. In those, select the file showing in the folder System32 cmd. Click with the right button on the cmd file, and then select the option «run as asministrator» Then, type sfc/scannow in the cmd window. I think that now the System File Checker will work.

don't forget, even you are in your admin account, you must click with the right button on the cmd file, then select the option «run as asministrator»

  • Admin account went

    Hello

All my programs are always present, but I still have no option to log in as administrator. I was going to update to OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 Sierra, but without an Admin Im unable to do.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    See you soon

I bought the clean my Mac 3 software...

'Cleaning' apps are scams. Extract of effective defenses against software malware and other threats:

    • Never install a product that claims to 'clean up', 'speed', 'optimize', 'boost' or 'speed up' your Mac; to "wash", "tune" or to make it "brilliant". These allegations are absurd.
      • These products are marketed very aggressively. They are all scams.
      • They usually operate on the erroneous premise that Mac builds 'junk' that must be systematically 'cleaned' for optimum performance.
      • Trial versions of these programs are successful because they provide more instant gratification of free space on the disk.
      • This increased space is the result of irreversible destruction of files, programs or operating system components normally protected against accidental tampering or removal. The eventual result will be the reliable operation, poor performance and random crashes that may not become evident for months, or even years after their use, when updates of programs or OS X are finally released.
      • Memory "cleaners" that bypass the work of OS x memory management algorithms by purging the memory contents inactive for mass storage, which can only result in performance degradation and accelerated the hardware failure.

To remove 3 CleanMyMac itself, use its Uninstall module, followed the following additional steps:

    • Delete the file ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac3.Scheduler.plist

      • To access this file, copy and Paste the following line in the menu to go to Finder > go to folder...

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/

      • Locate the following file and drag it to the Trash:

    com.macpaw.CleanMyMac3.Scheduler.plist

    • Then, open  (menu Apple) > System Preferences > users and groups > login items.
    • Select the item of Menu of CleanMyMac3
    • Click on the [-] (button less).
    • Restart your Mac.

Beware that reinstall OS X has no effect on deletion CleanMyMac or reverse the damage, it is able to inflict on a system. To recover from the effects of using it to change the OS X / Sierra, you need additional software and essential files you need, follow the applicable recovery procedure below:

    • If you have a backup that you created before using CleanMyMac, now is the time to use it. For Time Machine, start macOS Recoveryand in the form of Mac OS X utilities , select restore from a Time Machine backup. Choose a date prior to the installation of CleanMyMac.
    • If you don't have a backup previous use of CleanMyMac, create one now. To do this read to use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.
      • The recovery procedure require that you erase the Mac using OS X Recovery, and then create a new user account whose content will be empty. You can then use Setup Assistant to migrate your essential documents, including photos, music, products of work and other essential files.
      • To erase and install OS X read How to reinstall Mac OS on your Mac.
        • Follow step 2 to completely erase the internal memory of the CMA: delete a volume using disk utility.
        • Then follow the procedure to move your content to a new Mac.
        • When asked how you want to transfer your data, select transfer from a Mac, Time Machine backup or boot disk.
        • Under Select the information to transfer, select only your old user account and do not select 'Applications', 'Computer and Network Settings' or 'other files and folders. Deselect these choices.
