Lost photos - Windows 7

I lost ~ 1 700 photos of my wife - A58 Sony camera. It was the first time I tried to download the pictures from this camera. I used the default program that turned on when I plugged in the camera by USB. I left the House, while it was ongoing. My bad - I changed the settings to control the path of the file. I simply accepted default settings and upward went the photos.
Now, I can not find them anywhere. I should not have done it excited on my way the door...
Where are they by default?

Start by going to Windows Explorer and clicking on the photos.  That will open your photo library.  You see the pictures?

Otherwise, go to the start menu and type *.jpg and then wait a little. When you say "See more results" click on it.  It should show you the photos on your computer and where they are.

In addition, you still have the camera?  Unless you deleted photos off the memory card, or reformatted, they must stay in the camera.  Have you tried plugging the camera again?  Who can resume the import, but it will also show you where he tries to save the photos to so you could look there.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

  • Recovery of lost photos crushed

I cut and pasted pictures of my Nikon DSLR to a picture file using windows exporer.  These are called in numerical order.  (DSC_121, etc.)  The next day, I cut and pasted a new batch of photos to this folder and for some reason, the camera numbered these photos with some of the same figures, so that my original DSC_121 file has been replaced by a new DSC_121 file.  So I lost a group of images.  I don't have a screen asking permission to replace.  Is that what I can do to recover lost photos?  I run Windows 7.

  • Restore files lost on windows 8

How to restore files lost on windows 8

    Hi Ed,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You have deleted the files you want to recover?
    2. Did you recently upgraded your system to Windows 8?
    3. What exactly happened which made lose files?

If you have lost files, there are some steps that can help you recover them. Historical files regularly backup versions of your files in Documents, music, photos, videos and office files and OneDrive files available offline on your PC. Over time, you will have a complete history of your files. If the originals are lost, damaged or deleted, you can restore them. See the following article for assistance.

Restore files or folders by using the history file

If, however, you reset, refresh, or reinstall Windows, your personal files are temporarily stored in the Windows.old folder for 28 days (unless you have formatted your hard disk before install). If you decide to part or all of these files, you can usually recover from this folder. So, I suggest to refer to the following article and check if it helps.

Retrieve files from the Windows.old folder

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

It is a Windows XP forum... you are using WIndows XP?

I don't know what you call Windows Media Photo Viewer.

In Windows XP's default Photo Viewer is Windows Picture

Try right click on a thumbnail of the photo or the name of the file and see if you
can choose... Open with / Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
The print icon located at the bottom of the screen...

In addition, when you have a photo displayed in the Windows image and

Also, if you right click on a photo thumbnail or file name of the menu
    should include a print option.
