Low screen resolution. Fonts and large icons

I did a look upward using System Mechanic. Now my desktop icons and fonts are too big and my screen resolution is very poor.

Have been unable to fix this via the display in Control Panel. How can I fix this.

Try to perform a restore of the system to a point in time before you ran System Mechanic.

  • Satellite P100-188: low resolution fonts and menus, game

    Hello

I have a P100-188 and fonts on the office and Internet icons display very well, however the fonts displayed in message boxes look terrible, looks like they are displayed in low resolution, you can see practically every pixel that make up the letters.

This is really visible with some games I've played, as UFO: Afterlight and supreme commander. The games look good, but the menus for the said games are terrible.

Nobody else this remark on their machines and is it current with windows and LCD screens?
This is my first laptop and my desktop computer is old and it uses a CRT monitor that do not show the same symptoms.

    Good afternoon

I contact you for realizaros a technical issue concerning a model of Toshiba Tecra R850-151, part no 8b112605h PT525E and the serial number.

I installed the laptop in a docking station, this one monitor, keyboard and mouse, I installed the driver downloaded from your site for this model of laptop and operating system and you have set up in screen Intel Graphics and Multimedia Control Panel of operation mode screens clones both screens in resolution 800 x 600 and respect me as an administrator entering the mode of operation of the screen and the resolution the bug is when I have access to the system with another user without administrative privileges, in this case the resolution does not respect me and sometimes not the mode of operation of the screens.

Please faciliteis a solution to this problem because it is essential that the resolution on both screens and the problem is that entering the system with another user respect me when I accepted the turnstile as an administrator resolution and if I change the theme of the screens or judgment as a user when I turned off the computer and turn it on again you ignore the turnstile. Moreover, I installed the OS twice now and the error persists, and I installed the latest driver that you have on the Web, and before as well and always the same.

  • Images with lower screen resolutions on Tecra M5 unclear

    Hello

We have a few M5s with graphics card Intel that works perfectly with the screen resolution of 1024 * 768 usual.
Now we buy some new ones equipped with nVidia Quadro M5s, and they seem to have a native resolution of 1400 * 1050.

If I try to measure the resolution 1024 * 768 or 1280 * 1024, the images are badly blurred. But I think that the icons to 1400 * 1050 on a 14 "screen are really too small for the average users.

    No solution?
    Thank you

Tecra M5 comes with three different views. If you buy one with a higher resolution display, resolution reduced with photo dimmish results.

Sorry but there is nothing to do. For example, you can connect external monitor with lower resolution.

Assuming you're right about the updates being the culprit...
I'm not trying to dramatize the situation. That's what I would do if I was faced with this question...
1, temporary Windows Update Manual... which means that you decide what, when and which updates you want to install.
    2. do a system restore, choose the date where the screen resolution and the fonts were ok as your restore point.
    3. when these updates come to install again, do only ONE AT A TIME. After each installation, check if the screen is ok, and then next update and so on.
In this way, you will be able to isolate the update is the culprit.
It will also prove or disprove your prognosis. You may be barking the wrong tree.

  • How to set the lower screen resolution on HP Pavilion

I'm trying to figure out if its possible to lower my screen resolution of 800 x 600 on my HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 - b010us running on Windows 8. I need to do that; It is the only way that I can get my pico projector to run using VGA to HDMI - I tried it with my Sony VAIO and it works perfectly. The lowest setting that I see on my HP is 1024 x 768, and it does not work. Any help? Don't want to have to buy a new projector - this one works very well and the HP laptop has a VGA port

I came across this same issue using the resolution option custom in the Intel driver manager and has had success using mode low resolution.  I had also edited the registry to force more options.  The registry change which resulted in several resolutions between 1366 x 768 and 1024 x 768, but nothing lower.  Windows 8 is not really designed for lower resolutions (at least, which is not the ideal targeted resolutions), so I guess that would be present on any standard notebook Windows 8.

However, I have relevΘ this site today to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything... and it seems that I was.  I don't know how I didn't have to check the option advanced settings for more resolutions.  This approach does not require mode low resolution to restart, but it's going to require a screen resolution > avancΘs > list all modes to get 800 x 600 option each time you need.

Let me know if this has answered your questions.

    Hi Simon

Don t panic! This isn't a failure or problem
The native resolution of your internal display had to be greater than 1024 x 768 that is why you have to leave the laptop running with the best possible resolution.

  • I can't drag the arrow to change my screen resolution. He moves only from high to low-nothing in between.

I can't drag the arrow to change the resolution on my new laptop. He moves only from the highest to lowest - nothing in between.

    Hi Eileen,.

Thanks for posting the question in the Microsoft Community!

You can use only the highest and most low screen resolutions available and nothing in between.

What is brand and model monitor?

The resolution, you can use is based on the resolution that your monitor supports. CRT monitors generally display a resolution of 800 × 600 or 1024 × 768 pixels and can work well with different resolutions. LCD monitors, also called flat screens and screens of portable computers often support higher resolutions and better suited to a specific resolution.

  • It is best to set the resolution size and icon of the screen up

It is best to set the maximum screen resolution before attempting to adjust the size of icons and text on the desktop, notification area, Quick Launch bar and start menu? I know that the icons can be made to the largest and by choosing a lower screen resolution but y at - it a benefit to have the maximum resolution? My view is not too good and I need icons and text to be big enough.

    Hello

The screen, or the screen resolution, resolution refers to the size of the whole image displayed on your computer screen. Specifically, he refers the number of picture elements, or pixels, which are displayed at the same time. A pixel is the smallest element on your computer screen, the more pixels, the more detailed the picture will be. With fewer pixels, display items will be larger, but there will be less space on the desktop for windows and the programs to run.
