Screen resolution WIN8 and Dell IN2030M.

My system is essentially a Dimension 5150 with a Dell IN2030M monitor bought may 2012.
I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 as a dual boot with Linux Mint 13 (MAYA).

My monitor works perfectly under Linux at 1600 x 900 at 60 hZ.

Offered by Windows 8 ONLY resolutions are 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024 and both are at 64 hZ.
My driver is by Dell Inc., 19/07/2012, 3.0.0.0.
I tried R119714 and R126542 of the d/o files, but cannot get them to install because - "one or more files is missing or corrupt...". "I don't even know if these files are relevant.

What can I do to get the 1600 x 900 at 60 hZ in Win8 it please?

  • Screen resolution signal with Dell E7450 processor and controller. Help!

    Hi All-

We have some Captivate users who have just received of new computers, touchscreen Dell E7450 processor and controller with WIN8.1 installed.

We are current users of Captivate 8.

The issue we encountered is that when attempting to capture using our preferences, screens change resolutions on us.

    Here is what happens...

    1. Changes to the user to screen resolution 1024 x 768 (applys and accepts the change)
    2. Selects to monitor 1, full-screen capture
    3. To start recording; registration ends

When you look at capturing what we see is that the captured images do not show that 1024 x 768. There are large black borders on one or two sides, and the program that we are captures show left or right raised in a corner.

When we check the properties, this also shows that the captured resolution isn't what we put on the screen (and still shows). It shows, he changed to 1280 x 960.

Has anyone else had an experience like that, and if so, how have you solved this.

We have tried several options, including moving at different resolutions, changing the screen capture to capture the application (which shows the current window too small to see the app), so the addition of an external monitor to see if a capture would work to form it. Nothing seems to work that we can think.

Any thoughts or resolutions to try would be appreciated that we must make our developers back from work.

    Thanks in advance!

  • XP update demolishes my Qosmio G10-133 screen resolution

I'm running a two years old G10-133. Great and reliable machine. The reason why I bought it was because he has big screen resolution/sharpness for MS Word and Outlook emails texts.
For various reasons that I do not download the MS Windows updates that are often available in a pop-up at the start (hint that they may bring more problems than they solve). In any case I have recently (despite running Norton Security all the time) picked up some kind of malware villain in Google which diverts approximately 50% of the links google after a search and then sends to an another search engine with links.

The Norton firewall and windows not picking up these or clean them up, so I tried the free Spybot to get rid of them to no effect.

Finally rang Toshiba Europe support and the guy he recommended that:

    (1) do not use Norton. Waste of time and money and slows down the machine. Download the new freeware Windows Defender instead.
    (2) do all the XP updates
So I started with all the windows updates (charges), including Internet Explorer 7.

Guess what, after restart the computer is a bit slow grumpy, but worse still, the screen resolution (sharpness and clarity of the text) has deteriorated in Word, Outlook and Explorer.

So I called Toshiba support again (I'm on a contract of three years warranty) and they could not solve the problem or propose something and seemed surprised that happened. We checked the things of common screen resolution in control without result panels.

Then I gave up, train of the restoration of the system before any updates.

The computer is now stable and the resolution of screen back to where it was.

    Issues related to the:
    (1) can I get XP and 7 EXP updates and still get my old (better) screen resolution.
    (2) what to give up idea good/safe Norton for Windows Defender?
    (3) any ideas on how to prevent the diversion of Google links?

    Any help much appreciated

    Hello

1.) it's very strange and I have never heard bad display quality after the installation of the updates from Microsoft!
I think you should try to contact the Microsoft support and maybe they know something about this strange behavior.
But have you tried to update the graphic driver and/or BIOS?

(2.) it is true. I installed the Norton System Works several months ago and my unit started very slowly with preinstalled Norton Antivirus.
I removed and use and freeware AntiVirus application called "Antivir".
I don't want to use the MS Windows Defender. But I'm not saying that this application is bad.

    (3) I don't know what you want to do, but I don't think it has anything to do with your Toshiba laptop ;)

I can't drag the arrow to change the resolution on my new laptop. He moves only from the highest to lowest - nothing in between.

    Hi Eileen,.

Thanks for posting the question in the Microsoft Community!

You can use only the highest and most low screen resolutions available and nothing in between.

What is brand and model monitor?

The resolution, you can use is based on the resolution that your monitor supports. CRT monitors generally display a resolution of 800 × 600 or 1024 × 768 pixels and can work well with different resolutions. LCD monitors, also called flat screens and screens of portable computers often support higher resolutions and better suited to a specific resolution.

During the reinstallation of Win7, you must also reinstall the graphics as well as all of the current versions

  • WIN8: Can I adjust the screen resolution by a notification area icon?

I have a compressed HPEnvy X 2 running Win8. I connect it to a projector of data via a HDMI/VGA adapter. In order to get the projector to display properly, I have to change the screen resolution of salvation to the lowest. I pinned control panel display icon on the desktop to make this need more quickly, but it is yet to click in it, select res screen adjust etc. Is it possible to have an icon in the Notification area that will put in place the 2 resolutions and I would change it in a single click? Hi Max,.

Area the notification provides notifications and status. Well-designed programs use the appropriately, without being annoying or distracting notification area. You can not adjust the resolution of the screen to a notification area.

  • Tecra R850-151 and low screen resolution

    Good afternoon

I contact you for realizaros a technical issue concerning a model of Toshiba Tecra R850-151, part no 8b112605h PT525E and the serial number.

    I explain the scenario.

I installed the laptop in a docking station, this one monitor, keyboard and mouse, I installed the driver downloaded from your site for this model of laptop and operating system and you have set up in screen Intel Graphics and Multimedia Control Panel of operation mode screens clones both screens in resolution 800 x 600 and respect me as an administrator entering the mode of operation of the screen and the resolution the bug is when I have access to the system with another user without administrative privileges, in this case the resolution does not respect me and sometimes not the mode of operation of the screens.

Please faciliteis a solution to this problem because it is essential that the resolution on both screens and the problem is that entering the system with another user respect me when I accepted the turnstile as an administrator resolution and if I change the theme of the screens or judgment as a user when I turned off the computer and turn it on again you ignore the turnstile. Moreover, I installed the OS twice now and the error persists, and I installed the latest driver that you have on the Web, and before as well and always the same.

    A welcome message.

  • Edit event managed by this case in LabVIEW 2013 does not show the specifiers of the event, Event Sources and events on screen resolution 800 x 600

Edit event managed by this case in LabVIEW 2013 shows not specifiers of the event, Event Sources and events on screen resolution 800 x 600.

As far as I know, the list of supported resolutions is determined solely by the graphics card. It is possible that one used by the PC supports only 800 x 600 as maximum resolution, even if you plug an external monitor.

Like Dennis suggested, the recommended option would probably be to develop on another PC and only deploy an executable for the industrial PC. That's what we do with our systems (although not because of this problem, but because it makes sense. There absolutely no need to have the IDE installed in most of our systems).

    Other options:

    1. See if you can get an update of the driver from the manufacturer to solve this problem.
    2. Plug a USB Monitor with its own driver.
    3. Try to hide the taskbar and make the smaller title bar in the hope that the bug manifests.
    4. Try remote access in the PC. I think that some remote access programs allow you to specify custom resolutions that are not affected by the original drivers. Remote Desktop seems to be a likely this option even if it has been awhile since I've used it.
    5. Check the BIOS. I saw at least one industrial PC where there was some settings in the BIOS to control the resolution, but I don't remember the details, and it was quite limited. I think that in this case, you can change the resolution, but then the image does not fill the entire screen.

    • check that the video cable is connected properly;
    • check that your graphics card is pressed fully home in its housing and that the necessary extra power cables him arae connected;

Can any ideas on how I fix?

    Hello

Here are some things to try to fix it.

    Change the screen resolution.

"How the resolution screen on Windows XP"

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/Videocards/HT/screenres.htm

You can also right-click on an empty desktop > properties > settings > it the slider bar allows you to increase the resolution > Apply > OK > agree in the next window, etc.

If that fixed it, have damaged you graphic drivers.

Access the site on your computer or the manufacturer of the graphics card > look for a driver download Section > search for your model number and operating system > get graphics / video / Chipset Drivers (depending on how it is formulated) > download and install.

    Change the screen resolution.

You can also try a system restore before all these problems started:

  • It is best to set the resolution size and icon of the screen up

I know that the icons can be made to the largest and by choosing a lower screen resolution but y at - it a benefit to have the maximum resolution? My view is not too good and I need icons and text to be big enough.

    Hello

The screen, or the screen resolution, resolution refers to the size of the whole image displayed on your computer screen. Specifically, he refers the number of picture elements, or pixels, which are displayed at the same time. A pixel is the smallest element on your computer screen, the more pixels, the more detailed the picture will be. With fewer pixels, display items will be larger, but there will be less space on the desktop for windows and the programs to run.

You can visit the link provided below for more information about the screen resolution in Windows XP.
