LR 2.5 move original files in c:/user/images

I don't think what he used to do this, before I upgraded to 2.5.

Basically, the problem is that whenever I open a RAW (cr2 file in my case) file, it moves the CR2 and the JPEG of the image of C:/Users/username/pictures rather than keep them in their original location as she used to do in LR 2.4 E:/photos.

Is there a way to prevent that this is happeneing?

Zoilot,

When you "open" an image with LR, you will get a first import dialog box. Ensure that, in the import dialog box, you do not have a move photos to a new location and add it to the catalog of game, but rather to Add pictures to the catalog without moving.

I think this should solve your problem.

    Your images are not - and have never had - in Lightroom, they are just referenced in the Lightroom database.

  • How can I transfer files between different users on the same computer

    I set myself upward under a different name on my laptop father but necessary for the transfer of files from the original user (IE my father'd Office) to my new! How can I do this?

    The following instructions assume that you want to have two users on the computer and you do not want to move some files from one user to another user.  If this isn't the case, skip the following and post a reply.

    If the above assumption is correct, log in with administrator privileges or the user who currently owns the files and click Start > computer (in the list of the menu Start right under Documents, photos, etc.) and in the computer, double-click the drive where the files are located and then double-click on the 'Users' folder and double-click with the record of the original user and work your way to the files you want to move.  Leave this window open (and possibly drag it to the right of your screen until the mouse touches the edge and it automatically resizes to fit the right of your screen or you can resize it manually).  Then repeat the same instructions (start > computer, etc.) but the second time, when you open the 'Users' folder, navigate to the new user.  The two windows open you can now drag files from one window to the other.

    No problem. I think that the warning means that you will not be able to use Undo to bring back the pictures and it will have to do it manually. There is no risk of corruption.

  • Moving original files in Aperture

    If I import an original file from the desktop (or any other folder) on my Mac to an album of the opening, it creates a new project called "desktop", where the original file is stored. It is a version of the original in the album I tried to import the original file to. If I delete this 'Office' unwanted project, the version of the album is also deleted. Even if I try to save the (original) file in the 'Office' project undesirable as an original once again on the desktop and try to import again album where I'm actually, he did the same thing again, creating a new office project and updates a version in the album where the original must be. This seems to be kind of a 'catch 22', - whatever I do, the original stays in a separate project, not in the album where he is wanted. Is there a way to fix this?

    All of the original that you import opening must be within a project. Projects are basic containers in Aperture. Each imported image and all its published versions are exactly a project. You can add the photo to as many albums as you want, but do not delete the project. Which will remove the Aperture library photo and all photos.  If you don't want to have a new project for each new import, merge projects into larger projects to maintain the number of small projects or move the pictures from the project office to another project.

    Or specify the destination project in the Panel "file > import". When you import image files to an Aperture library, you can select a destination project in the import settings panel:

  • Move the file in the folder of the same name in AppleScript

    I had a problem with the script below. Basically, on the execution of the script, I want to create folders based on the name of the file and move the files in the files of autocorrelation. However, at the minute, that I'll have to choose the folder in which the script should run.

    Folder to choose a folder

    say application 'Finder '.

    located fileList to the name of every file in Folder with name extension is "m4v".

    end say

    the value point text delimiters to ".".

    Repeat with dittos in list of files

    get each text element of dittos

    masterFile defined in the point 1 of the result

    say application 'Finder '.

    create a new folder to Folder with properties {name: masterFile}

    move (each file from the folder Folder whose name contains masterFile) will cause

    end say

    end Repeat

    Ideally, I would like it to run automatically, but the folder is on an external hard drive. (\Volumes\Lacie\Movies). and I had problems to use the POSIX and 'alias' to properly re-create the path of the file desired.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello

    You can try something like the AppleScript script which is a simple shell script wrapper.

    set d to (choose folder)'s POSIX path
    do shell script "/bin/bash -s <<'EOF' - " & d's quoted form & " 2>&1
    cd \"$1\" || exit
    shopt -s nullglob
    for f in *.m4v
    do
        m=${f%.*}
        [[ -d $m ]] || mkdir -p \"$m\" || continue
        mq=$(sed 's/[^[:alnum:]]/\\\\&/g' <<< \"$m\")   # quote meta characters for regex
        find -E . -depth 1 -type f -iregex '.*/'\"$mq\"'.[[:alnum:]]+$' -print0 | xargs -0 -J% mv % \"$m\"
    done
    EOF"

    For example, given that you choose/path/to/directory in the folder - source

    Input state:

    /path/to/directory/abc.m4v
    /path/to/directory/abc.txt
    /path/to/directory/abcd.m4v
    /path/to/directory/abcd.txt

    Status of the output:

    /path/to/directory/abc/abc.m4v
    /path/to/directory/abc/abc.txt
    /path/to/directory/abcd/abcd.m4v
    /path/to/directory/abcd/abcd.txt

    Briefly tested under OS X 10.6.8 but no guarantee of any kind. Please make sure that you have a full backup of the original files and directories before you run this kind of script.

    Good luck

  • Photos can not find the original files

    Since the switch to Photos for Mac, when I double click on a thumbnail to enlarge, a large percentage of my photos have a message that the original file is not found and gives me a chance to find the missing file.

    In iPhoto, where migrated most of my photos, I would simply store photos within the program.  As far as I knew, this is where the original file.

    What happened to my photos?

    What happened to my photos?

    Check preferences: Photos > Preferences > General:

    Is the option "Importing > copy items in the photo library ' enabled?  If this isn't the case, you have imported that cited such photos and they are not stored inside the library. Then you must not move or delete photos you've imported. photos will look these photos in their original location.

    Look at the Info Panel for the photo and copy the name of the missing file.

    Search now with FindAnyFile this file name.

    Download Find Any leader here: the trial is free:

  • Try to import the original files into iPhoto after unsuccessful recovery

    Hi all, hope someone can offer advice I'm having a lot of trouble trying to recover my iPhoto Library after the disappearance of all my photos from iPhoto v 9.1.5. I know that the files still exist, like my iPhoto library file size displayed 91.44 GB and I can see the master of the files when I show the contents of the package. I do not have a backup (big mistake, I know, I'll be sure to correct now) so I'm stumped.

    I tried to rebuild my library using several options in the dialog box "Rebuild Photo Library" iPhoto, but progress always gets stuck when 24508 files have been rebuilt. The app still seem to work very well on the dock, but it ends up requiring Force Quit under the "Force Quit Applications" pop-up.

    I tried to rebuild using iPhoto Library Manager, as I've seen suggested in other posts, but the app doesn't seem to register/find my iPhoto Library when I select it (after going to > rebuild library by selecting my iPhoto Library, nothing changes in the app and "Default Library" is always empty). I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that I had to force her to leave the first time dialogue 'Rebuild' popped up in iPhoto.

    At this point, I don't care if my previous metadata edits, tags, etc. are all lost, I want to just my originals in iPhoto so that I can at least begin to reorganize all the. To do this I tried to add my master removal to iPhoto and encountered the error "file could not be imported. The file is located in the iPhoto library. "Is it because these original files exist within the iPhoto library, even if they are not showing in iPhoto? If so, my original files exist everywhere 'outside' of the iPhoto library I can import them successfully?

    Is there a way I can recover my original photos in iPhoto? I'm at the end of my spirit, so any help on this is much appreciated, no matter how tedious the solution is!

    You must move the folder of Masters of the packaging of the library.

    Then create a new library - the existing one is borked, as you can see.

    Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. In the menu that appears, select 'Create Library'

    Import the masters in this new library.

  • I can not move the files to a folder in windows XP, only to copy them, and I get the windows error. This happens on any file or folder.

    I use XP Pro SP 3 and I'm having a problem with moving the files from one folder to another, no matter where the folder or files. If I try to move a file, it crashes and it cannot be opened or used. If I move a folder, then crashes all the contents of the folder, and I can't even open the folder, it tells me access is denied, this nothing else. If I try to delete the file, then I get a prompt to error telling me that the file or folder is not accessible, and that access is denied and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If I try to move the files corrupt in another folder, this time I get the message "Unable to move or replace" the file in question and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If it is a document as a text file, then I can open the file and there is a prompt indicating that access is denied. I can then use the text document and save something, but if I close the document and then try to reopen it, all the changes are lost.
    It is not this problem if I move the files to an external device or disk drive.
    I am running as an administrator.
    Right now, if I need to move a file, I copy it to its destination, which is possible and then delete the original file. With the help of a release program was the only way I could delete these files, which could no longer be used.

    Hello Closrapexa, welcome.

    1. do you have this problem started recently?

    I recommend trying the system restore to bring the system back to a State before the problem started. Try this:
    1. click on START
    2. click on "all programs".
    3. click on "Accessories".
    4. click on "system tools."
    5. click on "system restore."
    6 follow the prompts shown to restore your system to a date before the problem started. Although the system restore does not target the personal data, it is recommended that you back up all data such as music, photos and documents in case something is not bad.

  • Permissions do not update every time that a user moves a file from one folder to another in the Windows XP computer.

    Original title: folder permissions to move or copy.

    I have a problem that I'm sure has a simple explanation but I don't know.  I have a folder in the tree that whenever a user moves a file from one folder to another, the permissions do not update.  Yet if a user copies the folder to the same location, permissions to update as expected.  This only happens with XP.  If I try with Win 7, if the user moves or copies, update permissions.

    Has anyone seen this or have an explanation?
