LR3.3 slideshow text Overlay

This may be something simple that I'm just missing, but is there a way to put the text Overlay (image name) on selected images? I have a title slide, and a "end" that I'll put in slideshows I do not want the name of the image with watermark showing on. But I don't want them on all other images. Thank you.

Extend this logic a little more away, you could use a couple of plug-ins to transfer the name of the image to a metadata field appropriate rather than having to do it manually.

LR/carrier or

Search replace transfer come to mind.

I read the manual, using the slide show, and I see that I can add text to images, but I want to add some text in the first image only and maybe one or two inside the view. Is this possible?

One way:

1. in the overlays Panel, place a check next to text overlays

2. click on the ABC in the toolbar and select the legend or title in the menu down

3 clear the field caption or title in the metadata (library Module) for all images of the slide show. (if necessary)

4 enter the legend or title you are only looking for the text images.

• IMAQ text overlay, then Writfile in the right size

Hello

I use IMAQ to display an image, and then I want to draw lines by using the KING and text overlay, before exporting it as a jpg or bitmap.

Please take a look at the façade attached jpg. It shows a part of my image of front panel and I drew a KING of the line next to the line, I added text. It looks great. But when I use IMAQ write file 2 or IMAQ Write queue, then the KING and the cache are not correct. Please look at the OverlayLV - you can see the line type (only now it is green), and the text is really tiny.

Thanks for any help!

Hi all

I thought about it. Before adding the KING and overlays, I had to re - sample the image to the size of my IMAQ indicator.

• Changing structure of file with text overlays

(FM11 on Win7)

Which will make the final result maintainable and brand the easy transition?

A set of project files has the following structure:

*. Book / / some of the expected results; Some are 'workbench' content management books

generated files by *. Book, as * TOC.fm and * IX.fm

ch_ *. FM / / these are chapter files that are part of the book. They include files ch_ * TOC.fm as dividers.

ch_ * toc. FM / / these are the table of contents chapter files

_Graphics / / a folder that contains graphics files

_Insets; a record of text inserts. Some point to files in the folder _Graphics

To "clean" the upper level of the main folder so that it is easier for many to share authors, we are considering repositioning:

• The files and their files generated for a _Books folder, or perhaps a different _Book for each type of deliverable. We will create more books in the future.
• Chapter and chapterTOC files in a new folder. We will create more chapters in the future.

The proposed structure is:

_Books / / contains this file .book from above, as well as its generated files

_Chapters / / contains the following from the top

ch_ *. FM / / these are chapter files that are part of the book. They include files ch_ * TOC.fm as dividers.

ch_ * toc. FM / / these are the table of contents chapter files

_Graphics / / no changes at the top

_Insets / / no changes at the top

Apparently FM11 does not allow a change of relative references to the graphics as text overlays. If so, I don't see this feature in the GUI. What Miss me?

To activate the notion of change of _Chapters, I need to MIF chapter each file with a text editor such as Notepad ++ and replace old references with the new? Something like that?

At < TiSrcFile ' < it\ > _Insets < it\ >filenameFM

BECOMES < TiSrcFile ' < it\ >... \_Insets < it\ >filenameFM

Move the files of the book does not seem as complex. It's the easiest way?

1. Move the chapter files.
2. Move the book file.
3. Open the book file. Its chapter references fail.
4. Add the files of the chapter of their new _Chapters folder and delete the old broken references.
5. The book was updated.

Just make sure to not folders at the root of the drive, i.e. C:\Books. It is the level of the 'root' of the drive. Start your whole structure a level down, for example C:\Projects\Books. FM has the bad habit to convert all the references relating to the absolute file, if the path to a file through the root of the drive. This will really bite you if you ever have to move your collection to another location.

Text insts behave differently, because FM actually stores all the content of the Insert internally as well as to maintain a pointer to the file. Unfortunately, you will have to re - import insert or change the path in the MIF entry .

In your current structure, you have graphs and INSET a low level of the FM files and books (relationship of the child). In the new structure, you are proposing to move them to a folder at the same level (brother relationship).

It would probably be simpler and less prone to create new files of book according to re - organize your files and make sure that there is no reference of broken file.

• Searchable text overlay

Hello

I was cropping a PDF of a book cover adorned. Naturally, the recognition of text does not work and Acrobat detects the PDF file in a single image. It would be convenient to manually specify the sections of this 'image' as of the searchable words.

Is it possible to do something like that? Simply highlight a section of the 'image' and specify that this section should be detected by the OCR as the word 'Tree' for example?

Thanks much for any help!

• All cross references a new impetus to projects with & #160, text overlays

I work with RH 9. I produce Webhelp projects based on the FM books.

This new book is based on the formats and existing projects.

But one thing is new: there are many inserts of text.

My problem: the file which includes text inserts corrupted references.

They are underlined and have good color, but do not work. Each cross reference starts with & #160;

What can I do? Any work around? Is this a known issue?

If you can reproduce this behavior with a small model set of content FM, reported as a bug and send the files for the guys of the CHT support.

Thank you

If you have a single MOV file that contains text, such as the lower third or subtitles, basically "engraved in" the file, right?

Then you can not modify the part of her... it's from the film. It is "flattened" to use component a Photoshop term... it in the film. There is no way to change the text or remove it. It's one of the reasons why I work on projects deliver a text version and without... so if you need to change the text, or add it elsewhere or you can do in a foreign language. Import the file, add your own text layer.

Nothing you can do short jump and fitness to get rid of the text image. but then, you are affecting the quality of the video and lose part of your image.

• Question on text overlay on an image

Hi - I'm trying to place a layer of text on a ghost image that I imported into ID of Photoshop. I mean by 'ghost' image has a fill layer white which has been set at 50% opacity. ID let not text be layered on top of the imported image, regardless of how many different ways I tried to achieve. It will allow another image to be superimposed on top of text. If I place a text block on the letter of even an image and the ghost, the red warning icon type overset text is displayed.

I tried to apply the text in Photoshop and that works very well until the file is imported in ID, how the text looks awful, which is somehow degraded in transit. I'm relatively new to the ID and the PS and would appreciate any useful input.

Thank you!

~ Artemis

It seems that the dressing is applied to the image or the image above, or both. Eihter disable it if you don't need it for other reasons, or for the image that you want to use on top of it, open the Options of text block and check the box ignore the skin in the lower left corner.

• Sizing of conditional font for a text Overlay on Photo

The size of the photo is 640 pixels x 800 pixels. I can get the script working on the 9-point font, but not if the bunk is too long without resizing the police.

Here are the main parameters of the initial script I prepared.

var originalRulerUnits = preferences.rulerUnits;

preferences.rulerUnits = Units.PERCENT;

var docRef = activeDocument;

var myLayerRef = docRef.artLayers.add ();

myLayerRef.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;

myLayerRef.name = "Filename";

var myTextRef = myLayerRef.textItem;

Set the size of the font in Points (may vary according to the length in characters)

myTextRef.size = 9;

myTextRef.font = "Arial";

Text color to RGB values

newColor var = new SolidColor();

newColor.rgb.red = 255;

newColor.rgb.green = 255;

newColor.rgb.blue = 255;

myTextRef.color = newColor;

Set the position of the text

myTextRef.position = new Array (50, 96.875);

myTextRef.justification = Justification.CENTER

Set the blending Mode of the layer text

myLayerRef.blendMode = BlendMode.NORMAL;

Opacity in percent

myLayerRef.opacity = 100;

The length of the text is based on a variable "Pnom" (concatenation of first name and surname of a database) that is written and stacked in the lower part of the photo must be a single line.

This is an example of 9 points as the default font size.

Here are the conditions, I don't know how to do:

1. If the number of characters is less than 40, then use fonts of 9 points;

2. If the number of characters is 40 to 50, then use 8 point fonts.

3. If the number of characted is 51 and more, then use fonts by 7 points.

Thanks in advance.

You could try a switch clause:

switch (true) {
case (myTextRef.contents.length < 40):
myTextRef.size = 9;
break;
case ((myTextRef.contents.length >= 40) && (myTextRef.contents.length <= 50)):
myTextRef.size = 8;
break;
default:
myTextRef.size = 7;
break;
};

• Text overlay

Hi, is there a way I can achieve the same kind of page, but not on questions of text and the section running down the card logo. If I do the screen smaller, shorter text map logo. The page looks great on my IMac and my laptop windows but apparently on the old monitors the h1 and p tags sink on top of the card/logo.

Appreciate any feedback.

Site is http://kimberleywebdesign.com/index.html

The page looks great on my IMac and my laptop windows but apparently on the old monitors the h1 and p tags sink on top of the card/logo.

It's all monitors, not only the old ones.

Avoid using position: absolute position everything on the page precisely where you want it.

Because it removes the element of the natural flow of the page, position: absolute often has unintended consequences such as those you are experiencing now.

Because the older ones are smaller and lower res, this question appears first. But he also appeared in the small windows of browser on hi res monitors. Everyone sees the web with full-screen browsers.

Given that you create on a hi res monitor, always test your pages in various browser sizes. I check mine entering the lower RIGHT of the browser window and drag it through a series of different sizes to see the effect on the layout.

Remove any positioning (relative and absolute) of your CSS and rearrange the page using margins and floats.

for example

{#card}
Width: 475px;
position: absolute;
top: 122px;
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
left: 0px;
}

can be replaced by

{#card}
float: left;
margin-top: 122px

}

which leaves in the natural flow of the page so that the text wrapping around as expected in smaller browser windows.

You can then float the other elements around it.

• Out of LR3.2 slideshow is blury - soft

I installed LR3.2 a few weeks ago and everything is going well except for some of my slide show module output.

My normal m.o. is to prepare a slide show PDF and send to clients for selection. My favorite "common size" for this release is 480 x 320. Since this recent update of LR3 I notice that all the output of the common sizes lower to 1024 x 768 are soft in short (IE out of 480 x 320 and 640 x 480). Once I got out in 1024 x 768, they are sharp. This is not my size by default as the comprehensive PDF becomes too big and was not necessary. Can someone tell me please how to fix this sweet blur. Thank you

Example for the above post:

• How to create a dark transparent band on an image, w / text overlay?

Hi everyone, I was wondering what the terminology is, or how to create what you see here at Daylife? If I know what to look for on Google, I can probably stop me. Thank you all!

-John

1. open your image you want to use.

2. draw a rectangle with the Rectangle Selection tool

3. fill it black (any color)

3 change the opacity (located on the layers window)

4. place the text above the rectangle.

-You can use the tools of alignment for perfect alignment if necessary.

I'm opening to Lightroom transition.

My question: Lightroom can add text as in these examples, or should I use a plug-in or Photoshop? (And if a plug-in, any recommendations?)

If you use files the module slideshow text overlay JPEG should do what you want with some restrictions on the size of the text.
