Out of LR3.2 slideshow is blury - soft

I installed LR3.2 a few weeks ago and everything is going well except for some of my slide show module output.

My normal m.o. is to prepare a slide show PDF and send to clients for selection. My favorite "common size" for this release is 480 x 320. Since this recent update of LR3 I notice that all the output of the common sizes lower to 1024 x 768 are soft in short (IE out of 480 x 320 and 640 x 480). Once I got out in 1024 x 768, they are sharp. This is not my size by default as the comprehensive PDF becomes too big and was not necessary. Can someone tell me please how to fix this sweet blur. Thank you

Example for the above post:

(1) picture as seen in native PDF:

(a) LR2.7

(b) LR3.2

(2) image taken of PDF:

(3) image also exported from LR:

  • LR3.3 slideshow text Overlay

This may be something simple that I'm just missing, but is there a way to put the text Overlay (image name) on selected images? I have a title slide, and a "end" that I'll put in slideshows I do not want the name of the image with watermark showing on. But I don't want them on all other images. Thank you.

Extend this logic a little more away, you could use a couple of plug-ins to transfer the name of the image to a metadata field appropriate rather than having to do it manually.

    LR/carrier or

Search replace transfer come to mind.

  • I managed to move my Presets to develop out of LR3 (if they are still in the Finder)

I was organizing my develop Presets, and I did something (?) to delete the folder they reside and all presets in Lightroom 3.  I still see them all in the Lightroom settings folder in my Finder (Mac OS X 10.5.8) but I have no idea how to do back to LR.  All others are where they should be in the Finder AND fine in LR.  Can anyone help?

    Thank you!!

    Stephanie,

Try this: right click (or whatever the equivalent of Mac is Cmde?) on the bar that says "Snapshots" and in the context menu that appears, click "Presets". Your presets thingy had turned off; you haven't lost anything.

  • Folded little rectangular soft under the T430

So yes I'm a fool, as I was trying to open the memory slot, I thought that maybe I have to 'push' the tabs movies bit at the bottom of the laptop. I don't know what it is, it turns out is probably in aluminium or something soft. In any case, I stuffed one of them with a screwdriver and it bends.

I had the open memory and in finally and nothing seems to be broken when it is turned on. My stupidity, someone knows what are these little tabs?

Legs to the ground. It should be good.

  • Why not inform you users that Adobe flash has been is no longer supported. What alternative do you have?

    This boring and preventable.

So I have to stop using mozilla and go back to the Explorer?

Laughing out loud... Mozilla had 'soft-blocked' version 18.0.0.203 and earlier, which still allowed you will activate Flash on websites of that trust. I'm talking to the past because Adobe yesterday released an update to solve critical problems Adobe admitted were in the 18.0.0.203 version. You can get 18.0.0.209 on this page:

    https://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

In the first table, find the row corresponding to "browser plugin", and you can use either the EXE or the MSI installer.

To ensure that the old version is allowed to come out, please close tabs using Flash, or quit Firefox, while installing the new version.

No one can promise that this kind of block will never happen. If that happens, if you are not accustomed to using the "Request to activate" feature a plugin, here's what to expect:

When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification in the address bar icon and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an information bar slides between the toolbar and in the page area.

If you see a good reason to use Flash, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click on the Lego-like icon in the address bar to allow Flash. You can trust the site for the time being or permanently.

But some pages use Flash only for tracking or play ads, so if you do not see an immediate need for Flash, feel free to ignore the notification! It will just sit there in case you later want.

  • Troubleshooting RAM to HP Pav PU131AV errors

    Problem:

    1. restart computer. Error reporting window Microsoft said that there is a possible error of RAM and said run the Windows memory Diag tool.

    2. I ran the test on Windows memory Diag tool, and there are 3 test case has failed. (I can give the results if necessary)

    3. the notes Windows Memory Diag says that if all the tests came back failed, then 'your computer failing hardware.'

    4. the results were not able to determine exactly which module failed.  The doc offers everything first, reinstall the memory modules and remove the dust or debris.

    5. I also checked the PC via the HP PC doctor and passed all the tests I ran.  The tests I ran were:

-all tests under categories of device / system

-all tests under Scripts of Test / Test System

-all tests in test / tests of motherboard

    Issues related to the:

1 should I continue troubleshooting potential problem of RAM, even if the PC Doctor showed all the tests?  Or is it enough that the Windows memory Diag tool showed 3 test cases that failed?

    2. If I continue to solve the problems of potentional RAM, I want to clean the inside of the computer and reinstall the RAM modules, and then run the Diag tool again pass memory of Windows to see if all the tests are back.  I found 2 docs that will direct me to the RAM modules and reinstalling them, but I still would like better know how to clean the inside of the office.  Can someone direct me to a doc who showed me how to clean dust and debris from the inside of a desktop computer, specifically the HP Pavilion PU131AV?

    Thanks in advance,

old computer: HP Pavilion PU131AV / a1050y, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP MCE, SP3 32-bit, Nvidia GeForce 6600
    new computer: HPE-180 t, Windows 7 Pro (64 bit), Nvidia GeForce GT 220, Intel Core i7 - 930 quad-core CPU @ 2.80 GHz, 8 GB of RAM

Relocation of the ram is no big deal, get him out to wipe the contacts with a soft cloth, put it back in.

Cleaning the inside... buy a can of air compressed, all you want to do is blow off the dust on the fans and turn off the heater.

Do not use any liquid inside the computer, just air. Do not wipe the inside with everything he can catch something and break one of the contacts.

Follow the instructions on the air... never never flip can do it because it would cause the liquid in the box to squirt out.

  • Windows XP Setup hangs at «Setup starts Windows...» "after all the required drivers on the CD loading.

My Pentium III 1.0 GHz computer (394 MB of RAM, disk hard 500 GB) crapped out on me after that I loaded soft PicturePerfect of Nikon.  For some reason, the Nikon software ruined my registry.  Now, whenever I turn on my PC, I get the BSOD with error "Unpaginated IPF in space".   I can't start my computer in safe mode or "start Windows normally" as I get the same error msg almost immediately without seeing the Windows logo and progress bar.  I can start my PC using the "last good known Configuration" and he will be starting the Microsoft Windows logo with the progress small downstairs bar, so I know that the hard drive is fine.  Then the screen goes black while WinXP is loading from the hard drive, and then the BSOD with error page comes up.  I suspect that there is incorrect data in a critical area of the drive where Windows requires data start correctly.   In the meantime, I can't boot into Windows at all because all Windows options lead to BSOD with the msg of error page.

I resigned myself to reloading Windows XP from scratch, but I can't seem to get my original installation CD to not work.  I've reconfigured my BIOS to Boot CD, and then start the original Windows XP CD.  He reads and load it all very well, and then it hangs at «Setup starts Windows...» "I thought he had to test the equipment, but it remained in this State for 3 hours!  The "Welcome to Windows Setup" screen never came.

I thought to use FDISK to the new drive of 500 GB and formatting on the errors on the hard drive, but I can't do since I can't complete the installation process.  I feel stuck in a bad situation where I can't enter BACK to FDISK and FORMAT my C: drive.

    Pls help!

    Thank you!

Here's what I did and learned:

    1. I replaced my DVD burner with my CD - R original delivered with the machine and disconnected the 2nd CD - R.

    2. I disconnected my 2nd hard drive, in part to minimize the current of the power supply, but also to keep clean and simple start between a (hard) C: and D: (CD - R) drives.

    3. I re-tested my SDRAM using test mode full and deep.  To my surprise, I found not 1 but 2 SDRAM bad!  I replaced the original SDRAM 128 MB and re-directed tests of memory with the Diagnostocs memory of Windows and Memtest86 +.  All the 512 MB of RAM is perfect now.

    4. I started to new WinXP and have the msg «Setup starts Windows...» ».  This time, I waited for about 15 minutes and to my surprise the configuration screen came!  There is a long period of time between the msg «Setup starts Windows...» "at the start, and when the configuration menu actually comes to the screen.  I was able to partition and format my hard drive.

    Lessons learned:
-Maintain the number of devices to a minimum so that it keeps unknown hardware failures to confuse the troubleshooting questions.
-Test the RAM in deep test mode is important and test several times.
-It could be more than 1 Bank of RAM can be bad so carefully test RAM.
-Wait for the next Windows installation menu.  It is not instantaneous, but it will come sooner or later.

    Thank you!!!

  • Of autonomous LR6 in terms of photography

I autonomous LR6 but Im considering getting the Plan of photography.

I store my photos on an eternal disc & have LR6 downloaded on my hard drive and move towards the external hard drive when you work.

    1. download the Adobe P/Plan affect my LR6?

    2. should I uninstall LR6?

    3. I have an old version of P/Shop installed, do I need to uninstall that too?

4 are the images stored on the cloud, or can I still stop them on my EXDrive & P/Plan find them there?

    5. If I cancel the P/Plan & uninstalled LR6, always will I be able to reinstall & use LR6 (an updated downloadable version, I stated out with LR3 & updated at each new full upgrade)?

1 installation of the cc versions will probably uninstall your lr6 (and possibly your ps) unless you uncheck this option during installation.

    2. your choice

    3. your choice

4 store them wherever you want.  I don't trust of storage only cloud with something important.

    5. Yes.  you just need to secure your serial numbers.  It would be prudent to save the installation files, too, but they are always available and, based on adobe's past behavior, you can expect to be available for another 10 years or more.

  • How to test

First of all, I would like to ask about the following histogram.

This is the histogram of an image 'black & white' in the soft mode of proof.

The colored parts of what it means histogram?

    How should we interpret them?

Why are black clipped pixels in my TIFF file - tends in ProPhoto RGB - no resumed the out of colours of the range when soft proofing with a printer profile?

Because they are not "out of gamut" and will appear in black in printing. Although Blacks appear not as dark as the screen, but that's why you use ' simulate paper & ink. "It will give you a better idea of how the deepest blacks and brightest whites will appear on paper to print. Screen images will always have a greater dynamic range than a printed image.

  • The time-out value for the Photos in slideshow

My client wants to put pictures of their advertisers in their slide show, but some customers use pictures that are time sensitive, i.e. 'Deal valid this Saturday only'. Is there a widget or add-on that allows me to set an expiration date for a photo in a slideshow where I have, for some reason, cannot be reached to remove it?

    Thank you!

There is no way currently to do this with only Muse. It would be a good widget. Maybe on the head to www.musewidgets.com and demand. The request goes out to third-party widget providers and maybe one of them will create it.

  • The slideshow images are the same size when the browser is zoomed out?

On this website, they have an effect with he image in the header that allows him to stay the same resolution / size even if the browser is zoomed in or out.

    https://News.Vice.com/articles/Simon-Ostrovsky-has-been-released?trk_source=homepage-in-th e-news

When you zoom the image generally will appear smaller as all other content... But on this page, the image remains the same despite what zoom percentage is set in the browser.

How can I do that with my slideshows of Muse?

    Hello

You can use slide show full-screen and then use a framework to use the slide show full-screen with specified page height.

  • What is the algorithm of outer glow 'soft '?

I'm trying to implement some effects in C++ for my UI controls. I realized that the Layer Styles Photoshop uses a form of anti-aliasing of the transformation of Euclidean Distance for "Precise" (inner glow and outer glow) techniques.

But what is the method used for the technique of 'Soft' outer glow and inner glow? It seems that this is also used for "Smooth" technique the computation of map of the height for bevel and Emboss.

    Pointers would be appreciated!

Wow, thanks for all the help people. After a lot of risk of tearing of hair and some collaborations, I finally thought to it:

    (1) make an accounting on the areas that require compositing, based on the offset of the shadow, the morphological expansion and cutting to the destination.

    (2) expand the mask to grayscale using a metric of chamfer 5,7,11 (the original G. Borgefors algorithm is adapted). Output 8 bit fixed point.

    (3) apply the blur of the box.

    (4) apply to the 1 to 1 curved contour function, conversion to 8-bit alpha values in the range 0-255.

    (5) fill the destination image using the color of the drop shadow, calculated 8-bit alpha channel, blend mode and opacity effect.

    Thanks for nothing!

  • Edit in Photoshop CS5 grey out LR4 and LR3

Because one of the upgrade of many LR3, I was not able to edit in photoshop, it is grayed out.  I thought that upgrading to LR$ would deal with this, but it didn't. I tried the upgrade to 6.7 beta, but this is not enough. Contribute CS5 to remove and reinstall?  Very frustrating.
