  Hey all,.

  I'm a convert first iMatch, then Media Pro and LightRoom.  My files got fields point supplementalcategories limited in them, which recognized OK Media Pro and created the hierarchical keywords, but LightRoom does not.

  Is there a way to:

  (1) get LightRoom to create hierarchical keywords? I've analyzed a list of keywords using exiftool, but trying to do an import in Lightroom has been an exercise in reality.

  (2) assign keywords as defined in the supplementalcategories?

  Any ideas would be appreciated.

  I am refreshing my intl LR file IPTC data and he's stuck towards the end.  I suspect one of the files is corrupt.  How to know what file it is stuck on?

  You could divide and conquer (binary search).  Select the first half of your photos and make the reading of the metadata file.  If it works, the peak of the problem must be in the second half.  Select the second half photos and reading of the metadata file to verify that the peak of the problem is that half.  Assuming it is, divide into two halves again (two quarters) that half and then repeat the process.  In not 14 iterations (a tedious ten minutes), you have identified the peak of the problem precisely.

  Photo: getRawMetadata ("keywords") provides the table of LrKeywords applied to the photo.  Then call the keyword: getParent() repeatedly to get the keywords ancestor.

• How can I disable hierarchical keywording in LR 5?  The preference of the interface for the AutoComplete is turned off and I still get California > United States > country.  I want to just Caliofrnia.

  How can I disable hierarchical keywords in Lightroom?  The preference of the Interface for full Auto is already disabled, but I still get California > United States > North America when all I need is the California.

  One of the reasons why you can see the hierarchical format for the key words are you have the word 'California' duplicate key in your keyword list.

  Lightroom display these files directly with.< parent-keywords"="" appended="" to="" the="">

  IE California< state="">< country ="" and="" california="">< united="">

  If you re - keyword photos so that they use only one version and then delete it key word duplicate of your keyword list and then she displays just "California".

• Keywording multiple selection problem

  I think I discovered a bug with Adobe Bridge CS4 does not write keyword tags to multiple selected files metadata...

  Several FIRST brand Canon 1Ds III, files when they are selected, cannot write keywords metadata files when multiple keywords are selected. If I select a batch of RAW files, and then click the check boxes for multiple keywords to apply, only a few of these key words will apply. Some
  not even count backwards. I can check it after writing the program by noting a "-" sign the list in the next box to the word, or some of the words, and they are not all the same number of files when I look at the filter window. I must apply a keyword at a time to a select group of RAW files in order to prevent the program to rewrite the correct number of selected files.

  All this experience? I am a photographer, and I have some pretty big shoots that I need to keyword only a few small things to the rod before the editing phase.

  And disturbing.

  For one of my use case, where I would use the keyword to restructure my files as smart collections, it's easy (but bulky) of rework.

  For many others, it would not, as I really watch content (people in image, instead of the face recognition).

  Has anyone of you have a similar problem?

  I'm not sure if I should read metadata from files to correct... need to check through LR3 first, if I had been more consistent in the backup that I thought I was...

  The problem with the tracklog is the '+' in the specifications of the latitude. Remove the brands '+' the legible tracklog. Now, I'm not sure if a '+' is valid or not (http://developer.garmin.com/schemas/gpx/1.0/oxygen/index.html_h882410155.html), but for this time Jeffrey Geoencoding Plugin will not read the tracklog...

• LR4 exports keywords ancestor by mistake

  Hello

  I use German LR4 on Windows 7 (64-bit) machine. No installation before LR (except beta LR4), but all the files have been newly imported after erasing the LR4beta catalog.

  "Export Lightroom hierarchy" option is disabled.

  If I assign a keyword, then there ancestor is exported, too although it has the flag "Include on export" unchecked.

  Example: my hierarchy of keywords looks like this (tags in all capitals have flag "Include on export" unchecked!

  EUROPE

  -GERMANY

  -BAVARIA

  -Munich

  I have now set the photo - only Munich Munich!

  the keyword Tag preview window shows that Munich (option "exports")

  but when I sync the metadata in the file, as BAVARIA is written to the file.

  This is true for all the keywords that are a leaf in the tree of keywords. Only the ancestor next level is exported by mistake. I guess that's because unchecking "Include on export" flag implicitly Unchecks the option "Export containing keywords", too.

  Of course my keyword 'Munich' has the option "export containing keywords checked because it it the parameter by default and this seems to replace the"include on Export"= SPACE adjustment of the ancestor keyword which I regard as a mistake.

  It is virtually impossible to change each keyword in a large list of vocabulary Controlley.

  I hope that this can be corrected by a future update.

  Sorry, I got confused between export and metadata > save metadata to a file and between 3.6 and 4 LR LR.  (Adobe has changed the meaning of the options keyword at least a couple of times since 3.0).

  I confirmed in my catalogs what Dorin observed: in LR 3.6 and 4.0, when you export images, turning off include on export in an ancestor keyword overrides export containing keywords for a descendant.

  Here is a summary of what happens when the keyword of the leaf has export containing keywords but the ancestor to include on export.  The columns in the record show if the ancestor is included in both XMP:Subject and XMP:HierarchicalSubject the original image metadata, and export columns if the ancestor is included in the metadata of the exported image:

  Notice the change in behavior to save metadata command between versions 3.6 and 4.0.

• Satellite X 200-HD - DVD reading problems

  I recently acquired a Satellite X 200.
  I decided to upgrade to the latest drivers and applications available on the website of Dutch support.
  Since I now have my first HD-DVD player, I also bought the latest Harry Potter on HD - DVD.

  Reading with no upgrade did not work, so I've upgraded to the HD-DVD player more recent.
  Reading worked just fine now, but when I upgraded to all the other stuff (Broadcom decoder, drivers NVidia, etc.), reading crashes after a few seconds.
  I have now restored almost everything and I can replay the film very well, but of course I would really like to keep my drivers up-to-date. Anyone here with similar experiences and (hopefully) a solution?

  Another problem I have is when I plug in my TV via HDMI, playback stops.
  The TV is not HD, but can perfectly HD signals downsample. I have an XBox 360 connected that I've tested this with, but with the Toshiba, it just won't play.
  Again, all tips are welcome...

  I suggest reinstall you the entire system and update your BIOS because it is possible that the software are somewhat overloaded or your system has too many things that probably isn't necessary.

  Especially the problem could probably be a corrupted driver then please try for example a display driver on the European driver download site, maybe better than the Dutch versions work.

  I guess the problem is somewhere in the search on the display drivers, since the question really looks like them.
  Is your X 200 a SLI machine? If this isn't the case, then you could try this site www.laptopvideo2go.com because they have more real pilots and they set up drivers for mobile system.

  I have a SAT. A35 S1593. There a UJDA750 dvd/cdrw rom in it.
  I did some research about my problem, but I STILL can't get a direct answer from all the research Ive done. So... I come to you.

  I started to have problems playing DVDs. Now I can read at all. I can read burned CD and can burn CDs, I can even listen to CDs of reg with no problems.
  The problem is with the DVD. No matter what I do, other drivers, codecs, or firmware, I still have to make it work.

  Ive tried, and it will not read anything.
  The CD is good, I can put it in one of my other machines, and it will read.

  Frustrated and out of warranty, I thought I would load windows XP Pro on it, I thought that the worst case it would not read the CD either. ........
  I was wrong it read and load Win Xp on it. Hoping that just maybe Winxp fix it.

  Hell I couldn't put it to its original state as do I lose.
  What else can I do to get this drive working and restore it to its state of OEM.

  This seems to be a hardware problem.
  I would say that the lens of the drive cannot calibrate properly in the right position and so the DVD cannot be recognized.
  Each CD or DVD supports the different features and properties so the lens must calibrate to manage every single support.
  If this is not possible then the CD or DVD cannot be read or written

  Unfortunately, these failures occur due to the stress of the material and that replacement can help to solve these problems.

  I'm going out of my mind: o.

  My Satellite L300D-11 has been delivered with a Windows Vista Home Premium, but I recently did a clean installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

  Since then, I have had problems with 'Blue error screen' come randomly. Bought and installed a registry clean program, but that did not fix the problem. Anyone else with this problem - and a possible solution.

  And now, my big problem. My CD and DVD drive crazy me; (o) it's a rug * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA and my internet research I found that many carpet * an owners have had the same or similar problems. My drive won't regonize or CD play/play. DVD with videos or programs, I can play. CD burning is not possible and DVD burning is sometimes work and other times not.

  I have read on different patches is displayed - also here on the Toshiba - not of the suggested solutions forum works for me - the new solutions I could try.

  Seriously think about buying a USB external DVD drive - but can be it someone please tell me why Toshiba does not get their B fingers * and find a solution as it sews Sony did it.

  I understand that it was ok with your laptop before installing Windows 7. It is so related to hardware problem software. Can you tell if it was original iso of windows 7 or the Assembly. Have you installed all the drivers for the Toshiba driver page and the maintenance of the right installation order? What burning software do use?

  Have you done this procedure mentioned in this forum:

  Go to Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.
  Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  Reboot the laptop and wait for the CD/DVD drive would appear once again

  Answering these questions may help to understand your question.
