  Yes, you can buy Lightroom without subscribing to Adobe Creative Cloud.

  To purchase an upgrade to Lightroom 6 from a previous version, please see this link: products .  Scroll to lightroom and click 'buy '. Then click on the selectable text next to "I want to:" and select "upgrade". In the drop-down list, select the version that you are upgrading.  I hope that help.

  do you mean that you get a page Adobe Adobe ID, wondering like that? If you have followed my second just method?

• Import of part of the catalogue of LR4 LR5 in

  I recently bought a subscription to LR5 and PSCC license. The software downloaded and installed without any problems. They have installed separately from my LR4 and PSCS5 software rather than upgrades. I imported my LR4 LR5 catalogue without any problem. I have imported new photos and retouched in LR5 and it works perfectly. Then I made a mistake. I accidentally opened LR4, imported images from a shoot and edited images.

  Once I realized what I had done, I opened LR5 and resynced my directory where the new images subdirectory. The new directory of images have been imported in place for the LR5 catalog. However, I have no any done LR4 fixtures and don't know how to do this without messing up the work I did in LR5. I found a different catalog import on the file menu, but afraid to use it until I make sure, it will not damage the work I already did in LR5.

  Not sure if I explained the problem? Anyway, your help is greatly appreciated.

  In Lightroom 4, select the photos you want, and then the file-> export in the new catalogue.

  In Lightroom 5, remove from Lightroom (but not the hard drive) the pictures you do not want that you just imported, then the file-> import an another catalog and point for the exported file in the LR4 catalogue.

  I have a catalog of LR4 8 giga (about 300000 images).

  just installed the new LR5 and cat opening I tried the LR4 in LR 5.

  He says he needs to be upgraded, but in the middle of the prosses, I got this message:

  "lightroom has encountered problems trying to update the catalog fileand format cannot use this catalogue in this version of LR.

  I saw that there is an option to export all my LR4 Catalog under a new catalog and import it into LR5.

  The old catalog Lr4 is perhaps too large. If you have always installed Lr4, try to divide up to several smaller catalogs by selecting 50 000 photos and make the export as catalog to your desktop. LR5 open and using import from catalog to provide one. If it was a success, delete the catalogs from the desktop.

  Judging by the before and after shots, the original was very underexposed and you he cleared up in LR. Where only a small amount of light enters the camera, these pixels have a weak signal (image) / noise.   If edit is common with Lr4 Lr5, Lr4 will be able to read (from xmp) & apply Lr5 edit, otherwise: not. For example: linear gradients will be preserved, but radial gradients will be lost.

  You can skip the first steps that you have already successfully updated, but I watched his video on how to open your old catalog:

  To replace the 4 icon by icon Lightroom Lightroom 5 on your dock right-click on Lightroom 4 and select "remove from Dock.
