LRT214 IPv6 DHCPv6

Hello

I recently bought this new router and when my main PC is assinged an IPv6 address, it only uses one of RADVD. Is it possible to disable RADVD and use DHCPv6 only? When I tried to use DHCPv6 only, it does not provide the gateway address and therefore it cannot be routed over the internet. Ive also tried RADVD with active M flag, but he always uses the RADVD address.

Thanks for the posts. I am very glad that TWC IPv6 working on the LRT. I had some concerns, that I discussed with Linksys engineering regarding IPv6 LRT quite some time and it seems that those who have been resolved.

This problem can be Windows associates see the link below:

    Hello

My ISP provides IPv6 connectivity in the form of dual IPv4/IPv6 stack with DHCPv6 prefix delegation. A router using Cisco IOS that I managed to make such a link using as a model the Cisco IOS and my ISP configuration file posted as an example in the following link:

    http://IPv6.otenet.gr/current-config.txt

The main point about this configuration is a PPPoE connection with:

interface Dialer46 ipv6 address autoconfig default ipv6 enable ipv6 dhcp client pd LAN_DHCP
    interface Vlan1 description local LAN ipv6 address LAN_DHCP ::/64 eui-64 ipv6 enable ipv6 nd other-config-flag ipv6 dhcp server LAN_DHCP

Now, I'm trying to set up a RV220W router on the same network, but I can't do an IPv6 connection. Maybe I don't am not setting up properly to make it work the same way for the Cisco IOS router. My settings are:

    -> Network-> IPv6

    IP - IPv4 and IPv6 Dual-Stack mode

    WAN - IPv6 DHCPv6 + stateless address autoconfiguration

LAN IPv6 - IPv6 address: fec0::1, IPv6 prefix length: 64, status DHCP: enable the Server Mode DHCP, DHCPv6: stateless, DNS servers: use DNS of ISP.

Announcement of router: status: activate, advertise Mode: unsolicited multicast

When I check the summary page, I see that even if a have a good working IPv4, IPv6 connection are the following:

    WAN (Internet) of information (IPv6)

    Connect time: 0 days 00:07:10

    Connection type: dynamic IP (DHCP)

    Connection status: connected

    IP address: fe80::5a8d:9ff:fee2:f9d3 / 64

    Gateway: fe80::200: ff: fe00:0

    DNS servers:

    which is obviously false.

Could someone please help me configure this router according to the Cisco IOS configuration file I've linked on the top in order to have an IPv6 connection work?

    Panos Hi,

Thank you for posting. You can find a phone number for Cisco Small Business Support at the following page:

You will need a Cisco user ID (your username) and the serial number of your router to initiate prosecutions.

Your router does not support IPv6. It is possible that your ISP can support IPv6, but in order to use this connection, your router must be able to support that. Click on the link below to know what routers support IPv6:

    Hello

You want your customers to get ipv6 using DHCP and not addresses via SLAAC configuration? If yes you can remove RA on the interface oriented to the customer with the order to remove ipv6 nd ra or use the ipv6 nd managed-config command to tell clients to use DHCPv6 and not SLAAC.

    Kind regards.

  • Impossible to activate HA on IPV6

    Hello.

I'm building a new environment vSphere vCenter (4.1.0.345042) and ESXi (4.1.0.update1.348481). All servers are only have IPv6, no IPv4 address.

    IPv6 address assigned by DHCPv6.

All servers are recorded in the field and listed in DNS.

    vCenter: vSphere.mycompany.local

    Hypervisors: esx1.esx.mycompany.local / esx2.esx.mycompany.local

Using the Test function on the hypervisor console, I can ping to DNS and resolve the name of the any of these server, regardless of the long or short, e.g. esx2 and esx1.esx.mycompany.local. And also, it can be done without problem on the vCenter server.

When I create a cluster and add the hypervisors inside, an occorred error:

Can not solve the short name esx1 in IP address.

I'm going back to the console esx1, nav in the Test function, resolve esx1, esx2 and the name of the long form of these can be done successfully.

I have no idea. Maybe there's a bug on the IPv6 protocol.

Note once again: no IPv4 is assigned to all of the above servers. only IPv6.

Thank you and waiting for your response.

from vSphere 4.1, IPv6 is supported for:

    • Guest virtual machines
    • ESX/ESXi management
    • vSphere client
    • vCenter Server
    • vMotion
    • Storage over IP (iSCSI, NFS) - experimental

NOTE: IPv6 is not supported for vSphere vCLI, VMware HA and VMware FT logging.

You may have installed one or more variants of the malware "VSearch' ad-injection. Please back up all data, and then take the steps below to disable it.

Do not use any type of product, "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" on a Mac. It is never necessary for her, and relying on it for protection makes you more vulnerable to attacks, not less.

Malware is constantly evolving to work around defenses against it. This procedure works now, I know. It will not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a couple of days or more after it was published should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.

    Step 1

VSearch malware tries to hide by varying names of the files it installs. It regenerates itself also if you try to remove it when it is run. To remove it, you must first start in safe mode temporarily disable the malware.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for other instructions.

    Step 2

When running in safe mode, load the web page and then triple - click on the line below to select. Copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

    /Library/LaunchDaemons

    In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

A folder named "LaunchDaemons" can open. If this is the case, press the combination of keys command-2 to select the display of the list, if it is not already selected.

There should be a column in the update Finder window. Click this title two times to sort the content by date with the most recent at the top. Please don't skip this step. Files that belong to an instance of VSearch will have the same date of change for a few minutes, then they will be grouped together when you sort the folder this way, which makes them easy to identify.

    Step 3

In the LaunchDaemons folder, there may be one or more files with the name of this form:

    com Apple.something.plist

When something is a random string, without the letters, different in each case.

Note that the name consists of four words separated by dots. Typical examples are:

    com Apple.builins.plist

    com Apple.cereng.plist

    com Apple.nysgar.plist

There may be one or more items with a name of the form:

    com.something.plist

Yet once something is a random string, without meaning - not necessarily the same as that which appears in one of the other file names.

These names consist of three words separated by dots. Typical examples are:

    com.semifasciaUpd.plist

    com.ubuiling.plist

Sometimes there are items (usually not more than one) with the name of this form:

    com.something .net - preferences.plist

This name consists of four words (the third hyphen) separated by periods. Typical example:

    com.jangly .net - preferences.plist

Drag all items in the basket. You may be prompted for administrator login password.

Restart the computer and empty the trash.

Examples of legitimate files located in the same folder:

    com.apple.FinalCutServer.fcsvr_ldsd.plist

    com Apple.Installer.osmessagetracing.plist

    com Apple.Qmaster.qmasterd.plist

    com Apple.aelwriter.plist

    com Apple.SERVERD.plist

    com Tether.plist

The first three are clearly not VSearch files because the names do not match the above models. The last three are not easy to distinguish by the name alone, but the modification date will be earlier than the date at which VSearch has been installed, perhaps several years. None of these files will be present in most installations of Mac OS X.

Do not delete the folder 'LaunchDaemons' or anything else inside, unless you know you have another type of unwanted software and more VSearch. The file is a normal part of Mac OS X. The "demon" refers to a program that starts automatically. This is not inherently bad, but the mechanism is sometimes exploited by hackers for malicious software.

If you are not sure whether a file is part of the malware, order the contents of the folder by date modified I wrote in step 2, no name. Malicious files will be grouped together. There could be more than one such group, if you attacked more than once. A file dated far in the past is not part of the malware. A folder in date dated Middle an obviously malicious cluster is almost certainly too malicious.

If the files come back after you remove the, they are replaced by others with similar names, then either you didn't start in safe mode or you do not have all the. Return to step 1 and try again.

    Step 4

Reset the home page in each of your browsers, if it has been modified. In Safari, first load the desired home page, then select

    ▹ Safari preferences... ▹ General

    and click on

    Set on the current Page

If you use Firefox or Chrome web browser, remove the extensions or add-ons that you don't know that you need. When in doubt, remove all of them.

The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you reinstall it never. A few small files will be left behind, but they have no effect, and trying to find all them is more trouble that it's worth.

    Step 5

The malware lets the web proxy discovery in the network settings. If you know that the setting was already enabled for a reason, skip this step. Otherwise, you should undo the change.

Open the network pane in system preferences. If there is a padlock icon in the lower left corner of the window, click it and authenticate to unlock the settings. Click the Advanced button, and then select Proxies in the sheet that drops down. Uncheck that Auto Discovery Proxy if it is checked. Click OK, and then apply.

    Step 6

This step is optional. Open the users and groups in the system preferences and click on the lock icon to unlock the settings. In the list of users, there may be some with random names that have been added by the malware. You can remove these users. If you are not sure whether a user is legitimate, do not delete it.

  • IPv6 and IPV4 aid

    Hello everyone,

I use a MacBook Pro 15 of retina in 2013. My ISP provides IPV6 connectivity yet, so I created a help service of Hurricane Electric IPV6 tunnel. I created a raspberry Pi to give IPV6 addresses on my subnet and everything works as expected. I have IPV6 connectivity on my MacBook and I can browse IPV6 sites. I did a test on http://ipv6-test.com . The results are positive, but he said that my browser (latest version of Google Chrome, but the problem is too much on Safari and Firefox) is not compatibility help. If I try the test again on Windows, Android, ecc. the warning message disappears.

The problem is that I can't browse websites using my MacBook. For example, the Apple site has not been appearing: I ran wireshark and Chrome was trying to load everything using IPV6, without success. Also try to access https://eolo.it/ (my ISP site) generates errors: it does not always work on my MacBook, while open it under Windows and IPV6 has no problem at all. I think that my MacBook (or in general OSX El Capitan) is not able to fall back to iPV4 when site an IPV6, but it does not work. I've read about 'Happy eyeballs' and I would like to know how to solve my problem.

I know that I could move to IPV6, but I prefer it to be, and in, I would like to be able to use iPV6 when my ISP provide me with an IPV6 address.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't remember, in Sys Prefs > network > advanced, is there still a way to put automatic IPv6?

  • How can I disable ipv6 on the newer airport utility for windows?

I downloaded the latest airport utility for Windows and I can't find any option to disable ipv6. Can someone tell me how to do this.

You cannot disable IPv6, but you can disable the IPv6 Internet from the Internet connection.

Open the AirPort for Windows utility

Click on the router from the most convenient airport to select

    Click on the installation manual

Click on the Advanced Options (gear icon) button to the top of the AirPort Utility window

Click on the IPv6 tab, which appears just below Advanced

Make sure that the IPv6 Mode is set to Link-Local only

Click Update at the bottom right of the window and allow a minute for the airport to restart

  • Message violates guidelines send IPv6 on PTR 550 5.7.1 documents and authentication

I use OS X Server (El Capitan) as my personal mail server. Everything is set up correctly. Mail works fine for everything except google gmail. This has happened for 2-3 years... whenever I have send emails to users of Gmail, I get "reviewed mail returned to sender" which explains "this message does not respect guidelines send IPv6 on PTR 550 5.7.1 records and authentication»

    How can this be repaired?

    I resolved to myself.

After digging the question (there is a post in the communities of Apple Support by Paul Derby 'Blocks Google's IPv6 email receipt sent by OS X Server'), I found the hack to force postfix to use IPv4 only not for work.

Instead of this, I found myself setting the configure IPv6 in the 'link-local only' in the advanced configuration of network Ethernet. (She had been established to 'Automatically', perhaps by default, when update OS X - Server some time ago.)

I can now send to addresses gmail from my client devices without problem. However, it seems that the accessibility of the Internet is not working now and so I disabled it (a small price to pay).

  • Caching server and IPv6 support

Anyone know if it is possible to configure the server for caching to work if you are using a dual stack IPv4 and IPv6 network.

When running dua-stack all client devices will prefer IPv6 when it is possible so set cache server service from Apple is to see every customer who logs as coming from a separate network rather than a single network. It doesn't seem to be a way to configure the server caching on OS X Server 5 for an IPv6 subnet, it accepts IPv4 addresses.

Before that I have to submit this as a bug can someone prove me wrong with a workaround to get a double network stack to work with caching server.

I got this job, it was just a matter of editing the configuration file server caching by hand to add the IPv6 range.

The configuration file is located in /Library/Server/Caching/Config/Config.plist

Make sure that the caching server does not work as you change the configuration file.

Open the file in the Terminal for editing and search for the following text:

    < key > PreviousDataPaths < / key >

    < table >

    < string > / library/server/cache/data < / string >

    < / array >

    < key > region < / key >

    < string > 65622637284725D55356E27799AC1535 < / string >

I will use the example of a range of IPv6 for the following subnet, 2001:377:3f:65ec: / 64

Change the configuration file to add the IPv6 range as follows:

    < key > PreviousDataPaths < / key >

    < table >

    < string > / library/server/cache/data < / string >

    < / array >

    < key > PublicRanges < / key >

    < table >

    < dict >

    < key > first < / keys >

    < string > 2001:377:3f:65ec:0:0:0:0 < / string >

Now start the update server cache and restart the DNS server if it is running.

I tried searching through the BIOS settings but can't find nothing obvious

Can any advise if there is anything I can try to get this laptop to perform a PXE boot please

Let me know if you need additional information

    Kind regards
    Steve

Looks like your server isn't aware UEFI.
Try changing the the CSM UEFI Boot Mode in the BIOS under the Advanced tab, under System Configuration. You may have to disable Secure Boot first.

My appleTV 2 see no room for my computer. WIndow 7. ATT Uverse router 5031NV-030 firmware10.5.1.525917 - att. I have the latest firmware on everything. I tried turning point/disable ipV6, run as administrator, disable firewall... etc I tried everything. He used to work on Window Vista and a few old iTunes. I've updated to iTune and move to Uverse. It has stopped working. I thought the problem was iTunes so I've updated to the latest version of iTunes in Vista, then update to Vista and then install Windows 7 and then last iTune on Windows 7... I now have everything that the most recent and it still does not work. I have not the firmware on my router can be updated, but I think it's fairly new

There may be a setting on your router you can disable IPv6.  Try this and also disable IPv6 on your NIC again.

  • Airport Extreme connected to TIVO: why I can not change Type firewall for IPv4.  Field displays IPv6 and is grayed out so I can't change.

TIVO requires certain ports to be unblocked.  So I try to add the ports requiring TIVO.  But when you try to add the default Type of firewall IPv6 Port Mapping ports and I can't change the value of the IPv4 Port Mapping because the input field is grayed out and no is not accessible.  With Port IPv6 mapping I enter values in all areas except for the IPv6 address because I do not know what value to enter.  I think the button 'save' ' is not available to hit because the IPv6 address field is empty or not valid.  Note: my router Mode is ' Off (Bridge Mode).  Same questions if my router DHCP Mode.

I changed my router Mode DHCP and NAT, then on the Type of firewall on the default page add ports, IPv4 Port Mapping and I could add ports but with this setting, I couldn't connect to internet in my Airport Extreme: my status remains orange light flashing.

I use Comcast and my Airport Extreme is connected to my Comcast router using ethernet.

I use my Airport Extreme as a router (wired and WIRELESS) and as a backup device.

My TIVO is connected to my Airport Extreme using ethernet.

How can I add the Ports requiring TIVO.

Golden in the networking rule. ....... Never try to configure port mapping when you have two devices on the same network the two acting as a router.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what you're trying to do.

    You have three options:

    (1) run the Comcast router "as what" and configure the port on the device of Comcast mapping... .the airPort Extreme must be configured in Bridge Mode when you do this.

    (2) lance to the AirPort Extreme router Mode of DHCP and NAT and configure the ports on the airport map... the peripheral Comcast must be configured to operate as a simple modem in Bridge Mode when you do this.

    (3) lance to the AirPort Extreme router Mode of DHCP and NAT and configure the ports on the airport map... swap Comcast modem/router you have now for a simple modem (it will have only a single Ethernet port).

In other words, either the Comcast is defined as the router and AirPort Extreme is in Bridge Mode... or... the AiPort Extreme is configured as a router and Comcast must be configured in Bridge Mode.

If you choose Option 1, then we can not help you on a matter of Comcast router. In bridged Mode, the AirPort Extreme requires no configuration.

If you choose Option 2 or Option 3, then we the following port values that the Tivo device needs:

    Public or UDP ports

    Public TCP

    UDP private

    Private TCP

In addition, you need to find the MAC address for the TIVO.  It is a long code that looks something like this, for example:

    A1: B2: C3: D4: E5: F6

A link to the Tivo instructions for port mapping would also be very useful.  I have done this with a TIVO in the past, but is for some years.

If all goes well, an expert of TIVO will post to lend a hand.

  • IPv6 and AirPort Extreme Gen 5 connection drops

My ISP is over native IPv6 but the AirPort Extreme (AE) abandons the connection every 30 minutes or more.

I've tried different settings IPv6 and the only one that gave stable results is to:

    -Block all the incoming IPv6

    -Allow teredo and IPSec tunnels

    -IPv6 tunnel fashion game

If IPv6 is set to native, airport utility shows the Internet connection disabled. So far with the tunnel mode, it seems to work. IPv6 - test.com results show 6to4 good feature as well.

Someone else had problems with the products of the AE and IPv6 settings?

He would have nothing to do with IPv6, but the problem was triggered by the latter.

This modem do you have? Brand and model please.

And who is your Internet provider because your Setup sounds weird... it should not be necessary to the IPv6 block.
