???? LV eat my Subvi

Seriously, I can hardly even how to describe the strange thing that happens to my code.

A vi project that worked well for months, now desimated... lack key Subvi which are outside the vi.

I checked on my PC, and all these subvis are in a library on this PC, then that's happened?

It seems that the vi is trying to replace the vi mising with other library vi from an earlier project.

Thanks for the review of my problem

LV attacked and corrupted all my archived copies of this vi.

Fortunately for me, I found a reading - single CD with a copy of my month vi bup there.

Fixed.

  • extract data from a Subvi in a secondary

    Hello

I am changing a huge existing vi-program (Subvi 300 +). Among other things, I want to change the main vi and the user interface. My main goal is to have a menu bar (listbox) to the left and the Group of experts to the right where the subvis are open whenever the user change the selection in the menu bar. With this, I invoke nodes.

The challenge for me (and for you - if you agree) is to save the changes made by the user, so they reappear when the user to reselect this particular point in the menu.

Secondly, I would like / need to extract the subvis settings (when the user makes a selection in the menu) to main vi so I can use the settings in the other subvis.

Third, I like the Subvi, would open in high school or in run mode, the interface be interactive.

I eat to a vi project, but I'm afraid that there is too much power of the computer and the memory when it should be able to call 30 different subvis. I also think that data extraction or the definition is somewhat awkward and could become quite messy when it is expanded. My solution for the interactive called Subvi is pretty simple, but I hope that another solution could appear during the debate.

FYI, the program must be made executable at any given time.

I really hope that someone can bring my some inputs or comments to my project-vi.

You have a very good idea. I've used several times myself. But let's think things through a bit more:

    1. You want to be able to pass data between the modules plugin - which is a good thing.
    2. When you get this race, it would be another good and something useful to be able to reuse architecture. Reinvention of the wheel is a bad thing.
    3. If the UI knows what data looks like is passed between the screw plugin, it will limit your ability to achieve the Point #2.

So let's take things a little further and say that the data transmitted between the plugins are given private plugins to hide the user interface (now to be known as the reusable application framework).

In this scenario, the reusable application infrastructure has only one job: opening of plugins, their departure in running and put them in school. (ok, so that's three things - person is expected to the Spanish Inquisition).

So, how do pass you data? Globals functional, databases, events, authors of the notification, depending on the details of what do the plugins, there are a lot of alternatives.

    Mike...

PS: The event to manage the selection should have all the code to manage the plugin. You can trigger the event programmatically during initialization to get things started. Similarly, the list of selection options can be filled by programming when the application starts.

PPS: now that reusable application infrastructure has so little to do, give some think other things he might have the time to do - such as the provision of a mechanism; standard error report to implement a standardized menu structure that plugins can cling to if they wish. or by providing some common on-screen keys that can be used by plugins.

PPA: databases are a very good thing.

  • Diagram of Structure Disable and asynchronous Subvi Bug?

In this scheme, the Boolean value happens to the Boolean indicator 2 ASYNC has not completed running.

Without the Structure off the scheme, it does not wait for an ASYNCHRONOUS operation to complete.

I always thought that the design schema disable compile the case enabled only if the structure were not there, but this clearly isn't the case.

    Is this a bug?

There is a technical term for it, it is called lazy (no pun intended, OK maybe a little bit).  A lazy design template do not load or initialize an object until it is actually needed.  LV R & D team that applies everywhere.

The essential is that the SSD is a node (flat sequence Structure is not BTW), and as a node, it begins execution when all its inputs are available and interrupts the execution when all its outputs are completed.  As a node, the SSD * must * follow this rule.

Now the question is: why the SSD has been implemented as a node?  I suggest because it was the easiest way, requiring fewer changes. Nothing profound here.  They simply chose the lazy implementation: create nothing new if you can help it, but rather the existing object that gives the best approximation of the behavior desired.

Of course now the ship sailed so now that we have the difficult battle "raise the existing code" to fight as well.

A similar complaint when Inline subVIs, an invisible 'node' encapsulates the Subvi so the code is in an intermediate state between truly inline and a normal Subvi.

I understand the current choice, but would not support it's behavior "wanted" by any stretch.  Sometimes LV R & D is trying to have his cake and eat it too, they will compromise on the implementation for convenience of coding and then try to convince you that the result is really desired, only you do not realize it.   That's when I get a little cranky, so far I have not heard all the arguments that this has been done for any other reason besides expediency.

  • Apple music eat a bunch of data?

Apple music eat a bunch of data?

He eats as much data you use. Generally, your average song, depending on the length, will be between 3-8 MB. You can estimate your consumption on this basis. Some data may also serve music application to download the album work/images/etc, but it is usually a single process. Cellular data followed in Settings.app will give you a good idea of your use of Apple's music database.

  • MacBook Pro 2015 eat RAM

    Hi community-

My MacBook Pro 1 year eats RAM quite frequently.

With no apps running outside the finder and clean my mac, I have only 600 left a few MB in my RAM. I can't understand how to free permanently.

Fortunately, it is not a permanent thing, yet after an hour of cool, it seems that it goes. But I worry that it can become permanent if I can't understand the cause.

My past of kernal_task to ~ 800 MB when this show - seems high but I'm certainly not an expert.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

If you have only 8 GB of ram installed, the observed behavior is probably normal. For reference my iMac is currently using ~9.5GB of ram with e-mail, pages, a virtual machine and open a half-dozen tabs in Safari. Top users of ram is 'file caching' to 2.7 GB and the operating system (kernel_task + wired) 974 MB + 1,9 GB,.

Don't worry with most of your memory, it's just El Capitian try to simplify things in the background... Maintaining the memory low pressure is usually only a matter of concern for those of us running out of hard disks where Exchange its use should be avoided to maintain performance.

If you are still worried, I'd say EtreCheck running and display the results.

  • How can I add a transition without eating in the length of the clip.

I have a newer iMac with iMovie 10.1.2 and OS 10.11.6.  I would like to add transitions, but they eat in the length of each side of the transition of 2.0 seconds.  Is it possible to add transitions without eating in the length of the clip.  In old iMac with the internal CD, before Apple "upgraded" iMovie, you could add transitions without affecting the duration of the clip.  When a large part of my project, composed of clips 6-8 seconds of time, waive the duration of the clip to make a presentation more chic does not seem an option.

For a transition to build to use incoming and outgoing clip media. We call these handles. It has always been like that. Most people leave a few seconds out of their clips when adding to the timeline. With clips you just save a second at each end, and you can create a second 1 transition or the precision Editor to set the duration of the transition. A point to note is that this does not apply to photos that they automatically of the handles. Your transition that uses 2 seconds of your clips is a second transition 2. If you use the full clip in the timeline and add a transition, iMovie will warn you that it would take the clips to make the transition.

Also check which extensions and plugins you have running such as these can eat up RAM as well. Read this article for more information on Firefox using RAM.

  • Tabs in Safari for gmail eat much memory a lot. Why?

After I installed 10.11.4 on my 2012 13 "MacBook Pro with 4 GB of RAM, I found a lot of to use it. Recently, when I have frustrated its use, I checked the activity monitor and found that Safari tablets ONLY for gmail eats a lot a lot of memory, which seems ridiculous to me.

Gmail has been known to be a very light e-mail client. But I see that just by opening gmail inbox page, takes about 250 to 300 MB of RAM memory. And after a while (20-30 seconds) the consumption of memory goes up to 450 to 600 MB. I usually keep an eye gmail open in my safari browser all the time to check emails and not to close. (I do not use Mac Mail application, thinking that the Mail app will eat more memory than tabs in Safari). I also have emails with the normal text or advertising emails. No data high image or video files in my regular emails.

Here are the data of the activity monitor. Look at the memory for the process "mail.google.com":-the largest is 692MB taken up by a tab.

Answer please, if any of you are also facing this problem. Is this a bug of Mac OS or Gmail bug? Or if there is no solution to this.

    Hello...

See if that makes a difference...

In your Safari menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab, then click: delete all data of the website can leave and then restart Safari to test.

  • TosOBEX.exe eats my memory

    Hello
I am currently using the Toshiba bluetooth stack, which came with the billionton Dongle BT to manage my BT connections. The BT manager works fine, but I have noticed that TosOBEX.exe eat my memory causing my PC to run slowly. I thought that this is the problem because when I finished TosOBEX.exe, my PC speed returns to normal.

Is this normal? Or did I do something wrong?

    Thank you?

Your bluetooth stack is up to date? If this is not the case, the update.

In your case, I would also check your COM ports. Maybe there's a conflict with another device.

  • What is eating my storage space?

    Hi guys,.

My Mac as a 750 GB HARD drive. He got full. So, I bought a WD 2 TB HARD drive to free up space on my mac for the WD.

I've moved many files from my Mac to my WD, but my Mac still has 1.75 GB left! How can I know what eating my storage space on my mac?

    (I use FCPX)

Did you delete files on your system drive that have been moved and then you clear? When you move items to another disk, they are copied, so you have temporarily two copies - the original and new locations.

If their trash, you could download OmniDIskSweeper, which is a free utility and provide a detailed report of what is stored on your drives - sorted according to size.

  • Renamed 3 variables shared on the network in Subvi to starting RT VI, now they won't write?

    Hello world

I worked on an RT program deployed to our cRIO-9024 with custom FPGA, and I changed the way in which the data is written to these three types of DBL 1 d. I renamed the shared variables ("shvars") in the library of the RT project shvar and also changed the target to the PC for the debugging of the function of the code written for them. I used a struct of conditional compilation to turn them off and something has been corrupted along the way and the second node broken shvar (node moved directly from project, no programming style) and caused a hard compilation failure in the Subvi. I got the compile error and go after the removal of the node of shvar entirely and placing him again the project and everything seemed fine.

Soon, I bring the Subvi RT application instance and build my RT exe and deploy it. On the host PC, this second shvar now not get written in at all. I hunt and chase and decide that something is wrong with the deployment of the shvars. I redeploy all and even delete all 3 of the nodes of these shvars in the Subvi and place them again. Now, all 3 are not be written to. My next step is to move the shvars out of this sub - VI I put them in but this is recommended? Note that sometimes they seem to get written once and then are forever silent after that. Is this because I use the nodes instead of the function of programming with shvar addresses?

    Thank you.

Edit: Notice the same level superior RT vi successfully wrote in 19 other shvars that I have not touched.

-Very well, I shot myself in the foot and was in fact barking the wrong tree. Put shvar nodes in a Subvi was well and not at all related to the problem.

The problem is that I had a bug in my code FPGA in a particular case, that could get him to stop putting valid data. Once I corrected this bug, everything returned to normal. I would like to delete this thread, but a little shy is right for you.

  • deployment error: unable to locate all the subVIs screws saved because a Subvi is missing or the VI is not registered in the last version of LabVIEW.

    Hello world

I want to deploy my project Teststand and got a strange error when creating the image.

For many additional files with the suffix as .tso, alias, lvlpb, exe, dll... deployment tool launches the error message "unable to locate all the subVIs screws saved because a Subvi is missing or the VI is not registered in the last version of LabVIEW.» (see also the attached picture).

If I exclude the files of my distribution or set them to "include without treatment or dependencies of elements of" the generation works fine.

After the error, I checked the Temp folder. The temporary project LV is not yet created.

I used the deplyoment-installation in the same way within a fromer project and had no problems like that...

    I use Win7 / LV2013 SP1 & Teststand 2013 f1 (5.1.240).

Could someone help or support? Thank you!

Finally, I tried the construction with LV2015 & TS2014 - no problems... Everything works fine...
