M10: Recovery WinXP and datas

Hello!

Is it possible to avoid erasing the data on the HARD C: drive when you use the recovery of re CD - install Win XP?
My M10 does not start Win xp to all options, but I need data on C bad.

Hello

The media recovery, you can only use for the installation of the OS and this way all data will be deleted because before the OS installation starts the HARD drive will be formatted. If you need certain data from the C partition, you can connect this HDD on another unit as external one.

But if your data is already deleted from the trash I n t see is possible to do it again.

  • Remove the Dell recovery partition and create a data partition

    Hello world

    Two years ago, I bought a Dell Inspiron N5110. In addition to the existing windows partition, I wanted to add a partition Ubuntu as a partition of data (NTFS). Well, I added the Ubuntu partition, but because of the Dell recovery partition (14.65 GB, used 7,69, formatted to NTFS), I had no primary partition left to create a data partition. I did not had the time to solve this problem so far.

    Here you can see the different partitions. 4, 66GB there is the linux swap partition and the 18.63 is the linux partition. Of course, they are contained in an extended partition that is created during the installation of linux using GParted.

    Basically, what I would do, is to remove the recovery partition. I did not throw a look inside, but I read that as it contains bootstrap information, as well as win7 boot no more if I'm deleting it. The partition is marked as 'active' (in contrast to my main windows partition of C). I guess this is a classic problem, but I couldn't find a tutorial or a satisfactory answer on this forum (I apologize if this is the case). I assume that it is not enough to define steps to activate the recovery partition and assign to the partition c active (i.e. they don't going to critical data recovery to the c partition). Furthermore, I read that repartition your drive could affect the functioning of the emergency recovery partition, is this true?

    Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    Greetings,

    Harald

    Yes, sorry, I had a problem and the image has not been correctly incorporated into my message. Here it comes. Sandra means healthy, active, primary partition means that primary partition. However, you will notice that windows see the ubuntu partition is a stretch.

  • Format HARD drive, delete the recovery partition and recover with disc

    Hello

    I have a laptop Satellite C660D-17F and want to format my HDD, remove the recovery partition and recover the preinstalled Windows 7 and other software. I don't want to keep my own data, which are all stored already, I just want to be sure I can safely restore preinstalled stuff. I have a few questions that I need help to clear up before I go ahead.

    Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition? If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?

    I found [this post | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/items/faq/71] which explains the recovery process. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that? It will restore the OS and the software for the backup of dvd drive? Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?

    Added SIDENOTE:
    I actually prefer to be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I'm after. Or is there a way?

    Sorry, I know that was a long post, but I want to be sure of what will happen BEFORE I'll and spoil things! :) If you got this far, thanks for reading. :)

    Hello

    I will try to offer help. ;)
    > Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition?
    Yes. Saved on recovery discs recovery image contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools and some additional software.
    > If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?
    Preinstalled Toshiba Recovery creator make recovery disc that includes the recovery image only. It has nothing to do with your personal data.
    > I found this post that explains the process of recovery. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that?
    After that, you should use recovery disks created for the recovery image installation.
    > Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?
    When you use the recovery disc for your laptop recovery image installation will have factory settings which include the recovery saved on the HARD disk image. To be honest I do not understand why you do not want to have this recovery image on the HARD drive. This allows the installation of recovery using recovery of HARD drive option. But of course you can delete it later for more free space on your HARD drive. Installation image that you can always use created for recovery discs-recovery DVDs.
    > I'd really rather be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I don't want after
    Fix.

  • Startup/recovery disks and file system Image.

    I know that DO START/RECOVERY disk can be made only once. But not preventing the system from IMAGE files, or would it be the RESTORATION of the file SYSTEM.

    How is my setup.

    The original 1 TB HARD drive came with the PC will be the OS (INSTALLED at the factory) and RECOVERY. And this will be the storage. I'll install a 120 GB SSD to be used as C drive. I'll install the OS from the BOOT/RECOVERY disk on drive C for two reasons. To ensure that it is a CLEAN INSTALLATION and ensure that it is NOT of QUESTIONS if they work or not. Then they will be stored in a place course.

    Then I would be able to do a SYSTEM RESTORE/RECOVERY file. And no longer on the internal memory or external storage.

    Anyone with knowledge of this and a better solution I don't know.

    Disc SSD 120 GB OS 'C '. 1 TB of disk storage HARD drive "D", (OS and RECOVERY will always be INSTALLED)

    The question "what is prevented from make the SYSTEM IMAGE files" - image files may consist of training, but with different software.  Several solutions for this by choosing software that makes the image IE files: Norton Ghost, Acronis, Paragon, etc..

    System Restore is a feature of Windows and does not make use of the same action, but it is useful in the return of the system to an earlier date.

  • Can I delete my recovery disc and create a new? (HP Envy ko25dx m6)

    Hi, I have a HP envy ko25dx m6 that I had a few problems of Windows 8 upgrade to 8.1. I was stuck at a black screen at startup upward. I had to contact the HP support by phone and they ended up sending me a flash drive with the recovery factory data. When I went through the process of getting my computer working again, one of the steps set to the recovery on the D: drive partition to store the data of the flash player in order to proceed. I ended the process and return my computer to Windows 8. After finishing, I now have a problem. By clicking on file Explorer, D: drive shows that almost complete, but when I click on it to view the files, he said "this folder is empty". When I go into computer management-storage-disk management, I have 2 recovery drive D: of. a watch NTFS file system, while the other has a white and they are both free 11% (89% full). There are also 3 other volumes without a name; 2 have a status of "healthy (recovery partition)" and 1 has a status of "healthy (EFI system recovery). These volumes without a name are a total of 1 100 MB (1.1 GB) and they are all 100% free. The only thing that shows when I right click all these volumes, D is help and when I click that, without a name, it is in fact, not useful. When I right-click the C: drive, it shows: open, to explore, to mark the partition as active, etcetera... Is it possible for me to access and return the volumes not named in C:? And is there a way for me to delete the data on the D: drive and recreate the data of recovery from this point?  A week ago I tried the upgrade from 8 to 8.1. During the process, it was recommended I have create a collection set but was unable to do so because of the saturated D: drive and the fact that I didn't have a pretty great to external storage. I decided to update the drivers and go forward without creating recovery series or by creating a large enough volume of space I have on C:. When the computer was made with installation and update of its utmost, it got stuck on a black screen again, this time with the cursor and the ability to access with Ctrl + Alt + Delete Task Manager. I had to use it to manually download drivers Windows 8.1 because it was not possible to do it from 8. 8.1 now works. I keep getting warnings about D: being so full and I understand having a nearly full disk affects the performance of the computer. If more information is needed, please let me know. Thanks for reading, if you haven't done this until now!

    All "readers" you see are part of the factory installation of Windows 8 and HP. The recovery partition is designed to return the computer to a factory State and nothing more. You cannot delete the d: partition "HP Recovery" and re-create an updated recovery image. The following illustration shows the partitions installed at the factory on my 13 HP x 2 Split;

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • incomplete recovery of a data file.

    I'm performing incomplete recovery of a data file that uses the following scenario.
    SQL > select * v log$;
    shows current journal seq is 10;

    I perform dml as follows:
    SQL > update hr.emp set salary = 1000;
    SQL > commit;

    Now, I've deleted log archiving with sequence # 9 alongwith users.dbf datafile.
    Now to perform an incomplete recovery of the datafile, users.dbf. I followed the following steps.

    I want to know that after the incomplete rcovrry until the seq, what other newspapers is applied. My example shows that this newspaper seq 10 has also been applied. Pls help me to improve my understanding.
    I can't understand the reason to get updated when the incomplete recovery lines.

    Hello.

    You cannot perform incomplete recovery of a single data file. After recovery, before opening the database, all SNA must be synchronized between controlfiles, redo logs and data files. A single data file must be restored and recovered to the last SCN for the database to open. If you want / need to do incomplete recovery, always restore ALL data files, recover their until the desired point in time and then open the database with resetlogs synchronize all data with controlfiles and redo logs files.

    In your case, you have made a complete recovery of the data file. Very probably data repeat still available in the online redo logs were used to recover the data at the last CSS file (since you said that you have removed the archiving log - which, incidentally, makes your online backup no need for a full recovery, after the redo logs switch line and crushes with sequence #9 redo log and beyond).

    When experimented with incomplete recovery, until the RCS or at least up to the time, it allows you to specify the point in time recovery with much more accurately and without guessing, what happened in whatever sequence of journal. You must manually remove the files of data or archivelog files before playing with incomplete/complete recovery. In fact, it is a good practice not to delete the database of linked files: o)

  • How to remove documents and data in the iphone app podcast 6

    I know how to remove each podcast, but how do I remove "documents and data" in the application of podcast?  I have more than 4 GB of data and documents.

    I think I found a thread that is useful for you: https://origin-discussions-us.apple.com/thread/6822791?start=60 & tstart = 0

    Sonny3301 answer worked for me, «...» "(The steps are: 1) download the Battery Doctor app on your iPhone (it's the first one that appears in the search) (2) hit the"Junk"icon on the bottom and tap 'Clear Cache'." (3) repeat until your space becomes available. The people that I learned this technique of some other bulletin board said it took 10-15 tries; It took me + 30 attempts. The memory savings start small at first, then it starts to hit hundreds of MB at a time. It sounds crazy, I know, but I went to have less than 200 MB of free space for 3.6 GB. Great thing, it was my podcast app had only been hogging to 1 GB of data, so the app battery doctor found 2.6 Go elsewhere. Good luck to you all and you are welcome. »

  • AutoComplete suggests my user ID and date of birth on the log in page of my savings account - how can I stop this?

    Most of the time the AutoComplete is really useful. However, when I connect my savings account, my user ID and date of birth are available, allowing anyone on my PC to check my account (a security code is required for all transactions which does not seem to be autocomplété!) - how can I turn off this please? This started because I reset Firefox (because of the slow, such as recommended by Firefox). Thank you.

    I know how you can do this:

    1. Delete an AutoComplete suggestion menu entry drop-down
    2. Disable completely auto form fill
    3. Clear all saved form autocomplete entries
    4. Entered AutoComplete clear form selected (using an add-on)

    but I don't think that Firefox has a built-in feature to be selective in what he recorded in the first place.

    For items numbered above:

    (1) when the suggestion appears, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select the suggestion unwanted in the list and press the delete key.

    See: control if Firefox automatically fills in forms.

    But I don't think that this blocks Firefox to save again in the future.

    (2) change your privacy settings in the Options dialog box

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > privacy

    If set ' Firefox will be: remember history ' to take ' conservation rules: use the custom settings for history. " Then you can uncheck the box ' Remember search and form history.

    (3) clear all AutoComplete form data saved

    To clear everything, you can use:

    button '3-bar' menu > history > clear recent history

    If you do not see a list of check boxes, click the Details button. Deselect all categories other than "Form & Search History" for those who are kept. At the top, set the time interval, and then click clean now.

    (4) clear SOME saved form autocomplete entries (when you are not currently using the form)

    You need an add-on for that. In the past, I've only tried this one, but there might be other good: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/form-history-control/

  • Documents and data - storage leak (bug?)

    Hello

    iPhone 64 GB, ios 9.3.2 6s.

    The question is:

    Documents and data to develop up to 32 GB (what I saw), as seen on iTunes and the phone ran out of free space.

    This happens already months ago, I did not find any application causing it or either messages or e-mail account, I finally had to make full backup and restore via iTunes to purge this unknown space. I thought that behind me, but still, less than months then after full restore documents and data weight approximately 32GB, that's enough, before I restore once again, someone has an idea?

    I tried everything to locate the space of simple storage up to PhoneClean, safeeraser, iFunBox management screen, I have no idea what is causing this problem...

    also tried google the question, found only on the topics related to applications causing, but I already tried to remove all his apps manually one by one, which did not help

    We hope to get some intel.

    Thank you community

    Try to restore as new, not backup your backup is probably damaged. The fact that this has happened two times points to an application or system corruption in the backup. Then download apps you want from scratch. I had to do it myself in the past, unfortunately, no fun, I know.
