Satellite Pro 6100 how to use recovery DVD-ROM with vmware products

Hello

I like to use the recovery DVDs of product (T201651-GR) of my Satelite Pro 6100 on VmWare player, because I use openSUSE Linux as main operating system (not Windows installed on the hard disk).
I do like install and save hard disk laptop, so that to restore later inside the vmware. If it works?
I wonder if someone can tell me how to use my legal version of Windows XP on VmWare player?

Thank you in advance,
Bernd

Hello

I doubt that it works with VmWare.
Why?
Because the restore CD contains the ghost image files and you will need to boot from the recovery CD for installation.

So I see the chances of getting this job running VmWare.

    > Satellite Pro L40 - how to make a dual boot with two recovery disks?
Short answer: you can't do that. Maybe if you have two hard disks (I tried didn't) but as much as I know your SP L40 has only one.
Ask this smart guy, how to do this. Maybe it's a useful tip.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - how to change the date and time in the BIOS

    Hello

I received a satellite pro 6100 that had not been used for some time. Windows does not work then he reinstalled with the good drive.

When I try and windows 'enable', I get the error 32777 and the laptop is unable to connect with the activation servers that a google leads to believe me that the date and time are incorrect in the bios.

I know that Press esc to access the bios but there is no option to change the date and time in there. I put the date / the correct time in windows, but this does not seem to synchronize with the bios. I've updated to the latest version of the bios, but this is not enough.

How can I change or update the time in the bios?

    Thank you

    Hello

I doubt this time and date setting BIOS does affect Windows activation time Windows doesn t affect it in my opinion. There must be another reason for this problem.
You can activate Windows by phone?

Normally the date and time in the BIOS can change you if you mark the date or time, and then press on + or - to change this. Sometimes you have to press PageDown/to the top according to the model of BIOS or laptop.
Usually in the configuration of the BIOS you will find a brief info how changing the values.

  • Re: Satellite Pro 6100: can I use RAM PC3200 modules

    Hello

I looked on the specification for this laptop and it does not have to go on 1gig, on the site of crucial, it says to use pc2700,

But the laptop would always fully work with PC3200 (400 MHz) in it?

Also the laptop actually supported on 1gig?

    Thank you

As much as I know the Satellite Pro 6100 supports a FSB 400 MHz.
So, theoretically, you can use the modules supporting 400 Mhz too.

It is important that you use the modules DDR SODIMM 200 pin.
    The Mhz may be different.

This notebook is not know for me but has checked some sites on the net and it seems that the top cover must be removed.
Then lift the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive to disconnect PJ700 on the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM of PJ15 card on the system board.
Remove the two screws that fix the Board Connector CD-ROM/DVD-ROM.

  • Satellite Pro 6100: BSOD after use of the 6000 SP recovery CD

My 6000 Pro Satellite recently bitten the dust after several years of daily use. I just bought a used SP6100, after which I tried to use my SP6000 product recovery CD to do a reformat. Since when I Stop (obviously common) * 0x0000007B (0xF9680640, 0 x 0000034 etc.) error and blue screen on reboot.

Is there a way to turn it? I had not thought about media recovery is specific to a single model (and the 6000 and 6100 are quite similar in terms of model anyway), but is this the case?

Thank you very much for all the advice

Cannot use the recovery CD on the different laptop models. Perhaps the two Satellite 6000 and 6100 are similar, BUT not even.
Different drivers and chipset utilities are used on these books.
The restore CD contains all drivers and utilities, and it seems that the blue screen error message appears because some applications and drivers are incompatible and unsupported on the second satellite!

So if you want to use the Sat 6100 you should install the OS from the original CD of Microsoft and then visit Toshiba s driver and download the RIGHT and compatible drivers.

    Good luck

  • Satellite Pro L10 - how to use product recovery?

I've had this laptop for a while, it was done incrementally over the years and now seems to have abandoned completely.

I can barely open anything without being invited to what program I want to open it with, and web browsing becomes almost impossible.

I have all the product recovery discs but when I try to use following the instructions 'Insert disc in drive, turn on your PC while keeping the key C' nothing happens, after all a bunch of Eman windows continues to load.

I'm close to throw this thing out the window (I live in a 3rd floor apartment) but cannont afford a replacement. If anyone can offer me some advice much whatever it is I would be very happy.

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

If I understand you just want to reinstall Windows. Is this good?

Therefore, you must use the Toshiba recovery disc. As far as I know the old Satellite L10 there is no option of HARD drive recovery, by pressing the C key will not help you.

So, put the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot up your laptop. Then, go into the BIOS or BIOS boot menu and choose Start from the CD/DVD drive.
The CD starts and you can reinstall Windows :)

    Thank you

    Hello

As far as I know, this unit was delivered without Bluetooth, but if you want to be 100% sure you should check the bottom of the unit. If the device supports Bluetooth technology, you should find the label of BT. If the unit have no BT cards, so you will find no BT label. Easy ;)

  • Recovery CD/DVD for Satellite Pro 6100 products?

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro 6100 (model number: PS610E-029ZV-BE) second hand and have experienced a non-recoverable accident.

I need to reinstall it, but as you can guess, I don't have the recovery CD/DVDs. Someone out there has them and could send/ftp a copy?

    Hi Bruno.

I recommend you get a new set of CD recovery of an authorized Service Agent. They are not too expensive, I recall.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - is to "restore" a re - recovery CD install?

    Hello

My Satellite pro 6100 won't start. "Starting process crashes and a message appears saying that the \windows\system32\config\system file:-«' is missing or damaged.
When I ran the product recovery DVD, he asked me to confirm what operating system, I want to "Reinstall". At this point I turned it off because I don't want to do something that I can mean loose valuable data (photos) from my hard drive. The user manual is ambiguous, he speaks of restoring damaged files and restore the software preinstalled in the same section. Can someone tell me if I continue I will get the option just the file restore/repair damaged in question or he comes to wipe my hard drive (including my data) and completely re - install windows XP?
    Thank you

    Hello

If you are using the recovery CD it erases everything on your computer! So if you have something that is important then it first save!

  • How to remove the bios password on Satellite Pro 6100

    Hello
I got this Satellite Pro 6100, I would like to install windows xp on it, somehow once I opened it, it's just a black screen with the password.
I removed the hard drive and I was able to access it with my computer, means that the password is not for the hard drive, but rather the bios.
What is the password of the bios? How can I reset it? I removed the Green battery which I think it is the RTC battery, it would make? How long should I wait for the settings to be reset to zero?
Y at - it no jumpers to reset the bios... ?
I don't know what my son used a password, so I need help with this...

Is it possible to kill the bios settings... ?

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that the machine has a BIOS password. And it seems that there are only 3 options:

1 Google for the procedure how to remove a BIOS password
    2. ask your son for the password
    3. send your machine to an authorized servicepartner and allow them to remove the password, which means that you pay money for it.

    Welcome them
