M250

I have a M250 that I have not used in a few years.  I replaced the battery, but it does not.  I connected the USB to my 250 and computer cord laptop, it shows initialization, then shows a circle that is half black and half white connected USB and MTP.

Is it sounds like the unit is shot, and it's time to buy a new?

T

That looks like a hardware failure for me. Better to buy a new.

When I try to copy an MP3 file from my laptop on the M250, I get this error message:

    Error copying file or folder
    ============================
    (X) cannot copy [filneame]: cannot create the file directory.

Windows Explorer shows the space available as this m250:

    Capacity: 1.90 GB
    493 MB used space
    Free space: 1.41 GB

I experimented by first deleting files from the m250 and then repeated the attempt to copy from my laptop to the m250 a file of about the same size as the one I had just removed from the m250.  This time the copy process went normally.  But when I tried to copy a second file, I again got the same error as before.

From that experience I concluded that, even if Windows Explorer shows 1.41 GB of free space on the m250, Windows Explorer copy function seems to find the m250 'disc' or 'full' with no more room for more files.

Any ideas on how to access this 1.41 GB of storage space 'ghost' on the m250?

P.S. I imagine that the first thought that happen to anyone reading this would be: "why bother with this one old player.»  Just throw it away and replace it with a current model. »

    My answer is threeold:

First of all, I try to avoid adding to the ever-increasing the garbage avalanche, we send all our landfill sites, so I make an effort to repair faulty equipment and get as much use out of it as possible before discarding.

Secondly, I am an old disabled man, scraping social security that barely covers my monthly living expenses, so it is a major expense for me to shell out for a new MP3 player.

Third: I learned how to use this little player, and despite his many quirks boring, there are many like it.  For example, it uses AAA Rechargeable batteries, so that I can always carry a spare charged battery or two with me when I go out and if I don't ever worry about dying on me when I'm away a charger.

I decided to hold my breath and move forward and try to reformat my M230.

I found a game that is simple and easy to follow instructions on eHow:

How to format a Sansa M230

So I took a chance, hoping that I wouldn't end up doing worse.

And reformatting seemed to do the trick.  I copied a couple of MP3s on the the M230 and now appear in the Windows Explorer, as well as on the M230s small LCD screen.

  • NO access to 1.90 MB 2 GB Sansa M250 Player/Any advice appreciated

    Hello!

Thank you for reading my question.

I have a sansa m250 2 GB with reader, but when I put in there songs I can only

access to 230 MEgabyles!. Once he reached 230 MB, I get an error message that the other songs cannot be copied.

How can I access the partition with 190 MB?

Before you copy and paste the pieces inside, I look in 'My computer' and click on 'no' which appears is a completely blank disc. The meter is set to MSC.

I went from the MTP MSC several times, this caused a problem?

Also, I reformatted the player sansa several times to address this issue. At I have accidentally delete stuff >

Before this reformatting when I clicked on 'sansa player' in 'My Computer', there were 2 folders in the folder of the Sansa.

When I look at the player sansa MSC in computer management it's a sound record of 1.90 GB.

I formatted the disk by right-clicking on the drive and also via the computer management by clicking on the partition and formatting here.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

    Thank you

    .

Hi I seemed to have solved my own issued and write the fix.

I downloaded the update from sansa and followed the instructions and it installs the software/firmware on my sansa m250.

Then, I had access to more than 203 MB, so it's resolved.

  • Music files occur on player m250.

    Hello

me once again. I posted a question not too long ago and got a great response and help on here, I'm hoping to get help from you again today!

I downloaded a few songs on itunes earlier, as I always do, tried putting them on my sansa m250 - everything seemed to be ok, he said, after that I have synced, that the files have been added to my device - but when I turn it on and want to listen to the songs, they are not (all other songs from previous loads are still there but but not the ones I received today)

    What has gone wrong?

    Anyone know?

Thank you very much in advance.

Too bad. I thought about it! Yay

  • Sansa m250 - volume number change

    Hello!

I have a m250 for a few years and I am very happy. About half a year I noticed something strange - sometimes when I pressed play/pause the player behavior was as if I pressed the volume button +. Maybe happened once in five times I pressed the play/pause. Strange thing, but I could live with that. Yesterday the volume went completely crazy and now most of the time the player behaves like one of the volume buttons (+ or-, at random) has been activated permanently. I know that m250 is an old friend, but I like it so I want to do something about this problem. The one I have is a European version (no FM radio), based on their processor Telechips, my f/w is 2.2.5e.

In addition to this problem there are also some bad sectors or smth in the memory-an MP3 always causes the player to freeze when trying to play, but it is not related to any specific folder - in fact, whenever the library is rebuilt after disconnecting the drive from the computer a different song is "damaged" and who has been altered before works fine (another strange thing...).

This problem of memory doesn't bother me that much, but I brought here anyway because maybe it is somehow related to the issue of volume buttons which essentially makes the player useless I tried to update the firmware, but it looks like there is more support for this former player and even if it has been updated of the firmware for m250 available Since the firmware I have is the most recent, if I tried to download it again I would probably get a message "your firmware is up-to-date, go f..." Yourself '... I hate it when things like that try to be smarter than me :/

All tips, in addition to "throw out and go buy something of XXI century"? I already tried formatting, it did not help.

    Problem solved

After about an hour of searching the Internet, I managed to 'upgrade' my firmware from 2.2.5e to 2.1.0a, thus allowing the FM radio firmware update went well, but did not help with the volume problem. Furthermore, another problem appeared - titles of tracks and playlists are displayed with spaces after each letter... But I don't like

I solved the problem of volume by adding resistors for pullup for the volume buttons. Dirt that has penetrated over the years is probably too conductive and original pulls (if any) are very high strength in order to save the battery. I added button two resistance 100 k shooting each in the 3 pin chip TLV320AIC23B (VDD analog, which is 3, 3V). There is plenty of space in the case of the player to hide the resistance and now it works fine, and I have radio

  • Sansa m250 not enough of memory... WTF?

I played successfully with my Sansa m250 (now V4.1.08E) for several months, mainly for recording and erasure.

Now - for some reason - it has reached a situation where most of the memory seems to be "missing." When I click on 'Information', he said Total = 1,9 GB, available = 299 MB - but there is nothing there! No songs and no record.

After that I save a 300 MB file, it won't let me not even turn on, saying 'not enough memory for music DB"and disables imeediately! This continues until I have connect it to the PC and to delete the file was from there.

    WTF? HELP?

He might have gotten corrupted. Formatting should solve this problem.

Turn it off and put on hold, then connect it to the computer. Simply go to my computer and right-click on the drive and select format.

    Formatting will erase all files.

  • M250 rev 2 fast forward is not

I have an another m250 that pressing and holding the causes fast forward fast before going faster and faster through the file. A podcast of the hour can be fast, passed through in a few minutes.

The m250 in question has a steady, slow speed, fast-forward. Supporting and now fast forward can take 15 minutes via a podcast of an hour. If my thumb wiggles or didn't press hard enough for fifteen minutes, the m250 seems to think I typed the next song (similar to the FF button) button and proceeds to the next song/podcast.

Any difficulty other than scream. curse and throw this thing against the wall? This really STINKS.

I have the same problem with my version 2.x m250. Of course, it does not support the accelerated FF/REW. My first m250 was a 4.x version and it had serious problems and I did an RMA number on it. However, before doing so, I noticed that FF/REW accelerated was a supported feature. So, when I found that the 2.x version of replacement unit did not support accelerated FF/REW, I was extremely disappointed. After all, I listen to usually 3 files of long hours. I bought another m250, hoping that this would be version 4.x and it was. Bought another, and it too is 4.x.

Rockbox support, I read that version 2.x with a different chip, so firmwares are specific to these models. I do not expect that they will be releasing versions of firmware so you're probably stuck with the FF bla on your 2.x. However, I hear you can get m250s pretty cheap at the moment ("$ 15"!), and your chances of getting a 4.x seem good.

  • Satellite A60-532: Media player crashed - update chipset?

    Hello

Recently I bought a new (scandisk sansa m250) MP3 player, mediaplayer, crashed when I tried to copy mp3 to it.

I went back to the store and the salesman told me that an update of the chipcet drivers may solve the problem.

Only problem: How do I know which version of the chipset? And is this fix makes sense to any of you?

    Thanks in advance,
    Japie

    Hello

I don t think the update of the chipset will help solve you the problem.
But the chipset driver is pre-installed on the device.
If you want to know the chipset, so you can check this in the Device Manager.
The chipset that you find on the site to intel.

Usually it is not easy to say why it happens. But it seems that the new mp3 player is responsible for this issue. Maybe a new driver update will help you.

But why you copy MP3s with media player? Do this through the Explorer.

  • M230 loses FM station when turned on

I recently bought an old Sansa M230 to use as a FM armband radio.  I got it from an independent seller on amazon.com

I screened my favorite radio stations and this device seems to work ok.

But when I turned off the player and then turn it back on, rather than hear the station I listened to just before turning off, I hear white noise instead.  Yet, the screen still shows the frequency of the station who has played before, for example "94.9."

It's my third Sansa M200 series player, and the previous two did not have this problem, that is, when I turned off, then again on the station who had played in front of more late, would still play when I turned on their return.   So I'm afraid, it may be a hardware failure.

I can get the radio station pressing one of buttons of four direction, then its opposite.  For example, pressing 'Next' and then pressing 'Previous' first audio for the station back.  But it's a bit of a nuisance and an embarrassment.

Before you give up this player and return it to the seller a refund, I wonder if there are tips I could try to make it work properly, for example perhapsattempting to replace the firmware.

If so, I would be grateful for some advice to try something in this direction,

The seller agreed to refund my purchase price and shipping costs to return the m230.  So I didn't need to try to install the new firmware.   And since then, I managed to pick up a fully functional M250 in very good cosmetic condition for a very reasonable price.  So now I'm a happy camper

My CLIP + does not show the title of the album during playback.  It shows only the artist and title of the song.  This is ridiculous and should be easily solved.

It's a simple solution.  They should do like they did on my old Sandisk m250.  Just show the song title/album scrolling.

  • Volume on 8 GB Fuze problem

I just bought a 8 GB rocket that aims to replace a Sansa m250, primarily for the increased capacity that I intend to increase to 16 GB with an 8 GB microSDHC card.  I use the player for recorded interviews and books and music, with a focus on voice rather than music records.

I am very satisfied with the quality of playback.  Volume on the "rocket" is very low compared to the m250.  I need to adjust the "rocket" at maximum volume equal to half less volume on the m250.  In a quiet environment, it's barely ok.  It won't work at all if he is competing its environment.  I tried swapping the Atria of both players and there is no change in the volume of the rocket.  Interestingly, with a mini set of Panasonic headphones (model unknown), the output volume of the two players is closer.

If the volume is set high or max, mp3 files are cutting.  Cutting and cracks are worse with high volume and the time of the problem varies.  The identical tracks play perfectly on the m250, even if set at maximum volume (and headphones that is held to the ear!).  I have improved the "rocket" a.15 and tried an OGG file, and it was worse.  Cut outs were so frequent that I did not understand what was said (it's a soundtrack, not music).  The same OGG file plays perfectly on the computer and a lot better if the volume on the "rocket" have been reduced.

Crackling is worse on the "rocket" on the m250. the distribution of high frequency is perhaps different?

I charge the battery, which, after the test shows that 94% charged.

Everyone has experienced problems of this kind?

    Thank you!

Forgive me, but you are unsure that there ae 2 settings of different volume on the "rocket", right? Normal high &. From what you describe, it seems that your rocket is always set to the default 'normal' setting.

It can be changed in the SETTINGS > Control Panel and scroll to VOLUME, just below BRIGHTNESS (it does not show on the screen unless you scroll to the bottom).

Most people find that the high setting is better for them. I wonder why SanDisk has even put 2 options here in the 1st place? Why not just have the high-definition of 'Normal' level and forget about it?

  • RMA calendar

SanDisk has received my m250 in mid November 2008. It is now January 2009. There is no other activity at the request of support after the acknowledgement of receipt except my asking what the current situation is "update".

How newspapers should I intend to wait for an RMA?

Everyone will see the entry "Update your answer", I added? Or do I close the ticket and start over with a new?

Although the typical delays could have been ten days for my Exchange m250, a data entry or computer error caused a problem.

Even if a correct return address was shown on my pre-paid ticket of RMA, and my correct address has been verified in the text of the support ticket online, the m250 return was shipped to a different address.

The RAM was status 'received' (showing that SanDisk had received the m250 guarantee that I sent) for about five weeks before that I had an update. Six weeks is not abnormal for other companies. The ticket was never changed to "shipped replacement" or "on the road". Once I posted an update and phoned, an agent told that we had given a wrong address and the item had been returned to SanDisk. It was only after I started track of the ups that I discovered the SanDisk ups had delivered to the wrong address, a different address that is listed anywhere in the support ticket.

As is often the case, the number one difficulty here is that the personal support does not seem to read the history of the support ticket. It seems that the support staff can only have access to the most recent message in the client. I was often restating information previously given or having to start over at the beginning of the process. In addition, the tone and the text of the support agent was accusatory and placed the blame on me. It was stated that exceptional will be in my RMA to reship the m250.

The conduct of the support agent seems particularly harsh when he or she says with certainty that the item was shipped to an address which I am absolutely certain that it was not. There has never been a recognition of the error of SanDisk.

The good news is that after all this, I got a replacement m250 and it seems to work perfectly. It certainly does not show the glitch posted guaranteed unit.

  • Strategy for listening to books

I listen to books on tape exclusively on my m250.  I see there is an option 'Play music/Spoken Word' in the menu, but after searching the Forum, I don't really get an idea of what makes this option.  Of more, when I select it, it tells me there is no working file spoken at play.  Where should I put my files, if it's even the option I want.

My problem is mostly that book segments would play in order (based on the name of the file).  I may have to take a great chapter and divide into smaller files for ease of listening, but that may result in the Affairs of the college game.

Advice and answers would be appreciated!

I have a m230 and m250. It's been a while since I did no transfer, since both players have decided to quit be detected.

IIRC, I found the section of Spoken Word was only my audible.com (.aa) inside books. They are treated differently by the player and I did nothing special to make the books end up by y.

.Mp3 and .wma books are treated like music. In order to get the pieces to play in order, I had to create a playlist for their first (Windows Media Player worked for me) and then transfer the playlist to the player. Parts would still be out of use in the artist, album, etc. sections, but by selecting the reading list, they would be in the order listening. That's also what I did while listening to a group of podcasts.
