  I have read of people having this problem with other printers. Whenever I get a call my it prints an error fax report. It's wasting my toner and paper. The manual refers not at all to it. Some posted the same problem of report and from in settings by selecting never he was supposed to turn it off. I guess it worked for them, but not this model. It made it worse.  When I read the report (after these operations) it says error Fax report = on every mistake.  Can you please tell me how to disable this option.   Click on the setup button (it looks like a key)

  Use the right arrow until the screen displays "reports." Press ok

  Use the right arrow for "fax reports. Press ok

  arrow on the right for "Fax error report. Press ok

  arrow on the right for 'On Send Fax' only or 'never '. Press ok

  This will make only prints fax error report when a fax that you send does not cross or never if you do not wish this report at all.

  Current software you are using doesn't have the ability to uninstall/no install the fax component.

  You may be able to work around this problem by selecting the equivalent of fax printer under devices and printers > right click & Select printer properties > advanced > change the driver for the printer (instead of fax) driver. This will cause a second instance of the printer with one (1) at the end of the name, but will work as a printer (not fax).

  Patrice, there is unfortunately no way to remove the features of fax for the printer, but what you can do is to try to remove this error message. Here is a video to explain the first two resets most basic that should delete this message from your screen.

  As far as I know, the fax test should not run unless it is selected under Tools, in order to avoid in the future, do not use the functions concerning the functions of the printer fax.

  The HP print and Scan Doctor has the ability to trouble by default printer problems, try running that and see if that fixes the problem with the Officejet 4500.

  If it does not help to clear up the problem, open devices and printers, click with the right button on the fax driver and remove / uninstall. Once, you should be then able to right click on the printer and then set it as the default value.

  If one of these two solutions fail to dispel the default printer settings, let me know the results when you have tried the two steps and I'll look more into this for you.

  My printer is connected to a telephone system which has an answering machine and an alarm system connected to it. The fax function can be set to 6 rings that are likely to interfere with the answering machine and/or alarm system. Since I almost never send or receive a fax these days - which? -I would like to disable fax altogether, but cannot find a way to do it.

  I understand you're wondering how to disable the fax with your HP Photosmart c7280 printer function. I'm happy to help you!

  All you have to do to turn this feature off is to unplug the Jack at the back of the printer. There are no other parameters that need to be changed.

• How can I send faxes directly to the computer?

  I have an Officejet Pro 8500 a HP all-in-one.  My computer operating system is windows Vista home and the printer is connected wireless to my home network.  I want to know how to send a fax received from the printer directly to the computer without having to print on paper first.  Occasionally, my printer working ink or for any other reason, I'm not going to want to print a paper copy of a received fax.  I may still need to read the fax.  I wish I could print the faxes in my computer so I can read and print the latter if necessary.   Ah, I finally found!  It's an option under HP digital fax on the control panel of the product.  Thus, for some reason, the process with my printer was very complicated:

  1. I tried to configure digital facsimile from the control panel of the product.  He ordered me to use the software on the computer that comes with the printer; as well;

  2. I tried this software.  But the software I had installed my printer do not have an option for digital Fax, so;

  3. I went to the product HP digital fax option control panel that directed me to the built-in web server, therefore;

  4. I opened the built-in web server. But although this software has options for HP digital fax it doesn't have an option to stop printing paper, so;

  5. I had to go back to the product digital HP Fax option control panel and find the option to disable fax print it!

  Of course, at almost every step along the way that I should try to set up the printer, and then understand why it didn't work the way I wanted to and then go on the support forum, read page after page of messages, return to the printer, try various "solutions" online, then go back to forums, etc, etc. etc.  It seems that HP could do a much better job in the design of its product interface software so that customers did not have to spend as much time find answers to simple questions.

  Yes. Fax to PC for J6480 is possible.

  To prevent it from printing on the all-in-one,

  you will need active fax to PC function on the printer itself...

  The following can be found on page 91 of the user manual. (Officejet 8500 manual)

  To change the settings of the device control panel

  1.

  Press the (Setup) button, select Basic Fax Setup, then Fax to PC.

  2.

  Select the setting you want to change. You can change the following settings:

  •

  View PC hostname: displays the name of the computer that is configured for

  administer a Fax to PC.

  •

  Turn Off: disable the PC Fax.

  NOTE:

  Use the Solution Center to turn Fax to PC.

  •

  Disable Fax print: choose this option to print faxes as they are received. If

  you clear print, color faxes will be always printed.

  The steps will guide you through the process of turning off fax reports.

  1. on the control panel of the printer, select the key icon.
  2. scroll until you see reports, select reports.
  3 fax reports should be number 4.

  I think I found something that can help your fax dilemma.

  This information has been in the User Guide for the Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one - N911a; PG 69.

  Set up backup fax

  According to your needs best and security, you can configure the printer to store all faxes it receives, only faxes it receives while the printer is in an error condition, or none of the faxes it receives.

  The following fax backup modes are available:

  On >  The default setting. When backup fax is enabled, the printer stores all faxes received in memory. This allows you to reprint up to eight more recently printed faxes if they are always saved in the memory.

  NOTE: When the memory of the printer is low, it replaces faxes print, older because it receives new faxes. If the memory is full of unprinted faxes, printer stop to answer incoming fax calls.

  NOTE: If you receive a fax that is too large, as a very detailed color photo, it cannot be stored in memory due to limitations of memory.

  Error only > Causes the printer to store faxes in memory only if there is an error condition that prevents the printer to print the faxes (for example, if the printer is out of paper). The printer continues to store incoming faxes, as long as the memory is available. (If the memory is full, the printer stops responding to incoming fax calls). When the error condition is resolved, the faxes stored in memory automatically, print and then they are deleted from the memory.

  Off >  Faxes are never stored in memory. For example, you might want to disable fax backup for security reasons. If an error condition occurs which prevents the printer to print (for example, tracks paper printer), the printer stops responding to incoming fax calls.

  NOTE: If the backup fax is turned on and you turn the printer off, all faxes stored in memory are deleted, including any unprinted faxes that you might receive while the printer was in an error condition. You must contact the senders asking them to return the unprinted faxes. To get a list of faxes that you have received, print the Fax log. The Fax journal is not removed when the printer is off.

  To set backup fax from the printer control panel

  1 tap (right arrow) and select Setup.

  2. press Fax Setup, and then click Advanced fax setup.

  3. press on the backup Fax reception.

  4. press on , error, or out of service.

  Reprint of faxes received from memory

  If you set backup fax mode to On, received faxes are stored in memory, whether the printer has an error condition or not.

  NOTE: After that the memory is full, the oldest faxes, prints are replaced as new faxes are received. If all stored faxes are not printed, the printer does not receive fax calls until you print or erase memory faxes. You can also delete the faxes in memory for purposes of confidentiality or security.

  According to the sizes of the faxes in memory, you can reprint up to eight more recently printed faxes, if they are still in memory. For example, you will need to re - print your faxes if you have lost the copy of your last draw.

  To reprint the faxes in memory from the printer control panel

  1. make sure you have loaded paper in the main tray.

  2 tap (right arrow) and select Setup.

  3. touch Tools , or Faxand then select reprint faxes in memory. The faxes are printed in reverse order, where they were received with the most recently received fax printed first, and so on.

  4. If you want to stop reprinting the faxes in memory, press the Cancel button.

  Us run CUBE and UCM 10.5.1 for awhile now for all voices and have problems of migration of our fax of TDM/PRI to SIP services.  Verizon does not support T.38 re-invite and we use G.729 as our favorite voice codec. Someone has a stand-alone fax machine VG224 above service migration experience to SIP using G.711 passthrough [fax or modem passthrough}?  We have 40 VG 224.  Thank you for all your help.
