M52 9210 - BIOS window - strange effect

The bios window, called by the F1 key after power, is not displayed correctly. I use a display with resolution 1680 x 1050 and set at 1:1 scale (small window on the screen when the image has a low resolution). The monitor reports resolution 640 x 480, but the BIOS window is cropped. The right side (help almost full field) and in the narrow strip at the bottom are invisible. The bios is upgraded to a new, but in the old version, the described effect was the same.

How can I solve this problem?

With the 'lack of RAM', I meant the free RAM socket

But I have no more ideas

Quite annoyed to try to find a way to upgrade or downgrade the BIOS.
Took battery and RAM to see if I can delete it?

    Any ideas anyone?

I think you mean BIOS * update * and do not upgrade ;)
    An upgrade is not possible

However, you can try to remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour. After that, reconnect the battery and the AC adapter and try to start Windows.
Moreover I would load the default settings in the BIOS before starting Windows.

If it doesn't work, it seems that your ROM module needs to be reflashed. In this case an ASP can help you.

It depends on the security policy for different companies. Another company have a security measure different they take and apply.

  • Mark a STOR E 1.8 as removable steel for bios/Windows

I have a 250 GB 1.8 usb Stor E drive steel. He is recognized as local hard drive (not also removable) in windows and my problem: also of the bios recognized as HARD drive which he declares as a second hard disk and not removable.

I want to be able to boot from it by making it a removable drive so that the bios recognizes the drive as "removable media" which is part of the boot sequence:
    1. removable media
2 disc (boots of built on the HARD drive first)
    3. initializing the network...

Eventually, it would be a success if I toggle the little removable media (RMB)? So that every system that I plug it recognize it as a removable (I hope). This hypothesis is correct?

---> Is there a utility from Toshiba to switch the RMB on the STOR E 1.8?

    Summary:
My 1.8 is already bootable and works very well. Formatted NTFS which is a must for me. Any solution that needs fat is therefore not possible for me (I doubt it would work anyway). BIOS treats as HARD drive as opposed to a USB drive.

    Thanks for any help

    Found the HARD disk here.
    http://www.Toshiba-multimedia.com/EU/store-external-hard-drives/steel-18/
    It s a common USB2 SATA HDD

    > I want to be able to boot from it by making it a removable disk
As far as I know boot from devices depends on the BIOS and not all laptops support boot from USB HDD. My laptop supports booting from USB, but only (no USB HDD) flash drive.

    > Possibly it would be a success if I toggle the little removable media (RMB)? So that every system that I plug it recognize it as a removable (I hope). This hypothesis is correct?

Not sure about that. I know you can remove the forest of removable media USB keys but never tried to activate (if possible) on HDD USB but I used the tool called Lexar BootIt which could remove the RMB. There is an option called Flip removable Bit. Then the new partition on USB devices must be created

But the use of these tools is at your own risks such as mentioned, never tried him with a HDD USB but old key USB flash

  • How to turn on EFA (Extended-table page) in Intel i7 via BIOS (Windows 8)

    Hello

I have a desktop HP p6-2083sc and I use Windows 8 Pro. Windows 8 Pro comes with service virtualization Hyper-V that I would use. Just as I turn SLAT (second level address translation) on which Intel called EPT (extended page table). I know my processor equipped with this technology. But I don't know how to turn it on.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I know not even how to go to BIOS with this computer model. I try to hit F10 on start and need me a BIOS - look-a-like place, but there's absolutely nothing fancy options. Startup commands etc.

    Thank you for your help

EDIT: Okay, it's BIOS I've entered until then. According to this http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03235578#N138 but when I turn on EPT then? Here (http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh857623.aspx) it is said that "for more information about checking and changing virtualization settings in your system BIOS, consult the manufacturer of your system. ''

    Answer to myself.

Dear kivikall, take a thorough plan look there. There is a menu of security and underneath there is a security system. It contains virtualization technology (VTx / VTd) option. That's what you're looking for!

    Hi chaospunx,

Which HDD mode did you use before the BIOS update? Perhaps this option, you need to change, then Windows will start up again.

You can choose between the mode of access AHCI and Compatible HARD disk.

Mod edit: System model added to the subject line to improve visibility / clarity

I would ONLY update the bios information if it meets a specific bug or a fix for your computer. At best the update process is a 50-50 chance of not working and "bricking" of the computer.

Basically - if it isn't broken, don't fix it applies...

  • What are the requirements with respect to a processor and hard drive and memory is required to run windows seven effectively?

Can I just move from XP to windows 7 without loosung files already under Xp.

While XP is allowed as a way to upgrade to Windows 7, you must perform a new installation ("custom"). It is always wise to backup your data on external media (burn DVD, copy to external hard drive, etc.) before you do anything too drastic to install a new operating system.

  • Windows 7 effect on the brightness of the screen

I just upgrade my Vista to Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop.  After installation, the brightness of the screen was significant reduced.  Screen brightness options show that it is on the intensity setting, and I can't increase the level.  It is certainly much less vivid, immediately after installed Windows 7.  Can someone tell me how to increase the brightness or should I uninstall Windows 7?

Sounds like you using the Adaptive brightness.

The screen on a laptop consumes more energy than any other part of the PC. Windows 7 automatically reduces the brightness of the screen if you are inactive for a period of time, just like a cell phone. Windows 7 adapts to your business intelligently. If the screen fades immediately after 30 seconds and you move the mouse to brighten the screen, Windows 7 waits 60 seconds before the display of gradation again.
