Can I upgrade the card wireless in m7-j020dx an ac wireless card?

Hello

I think. Intel 7260AC worked for me on a M6-1000 series laptop and a Dv6-7000 series laptop, both architecture Ivy Bridge. Some portable series j000 TouchSmart Envy 15/17 are still sold with a chip wireless AC (probably the 7260 one). Envy 17 TS and M7 use the same manual and the 7260AC of Intel can run on your laptop because I saw the number of threads that confirms that the 7260AC of Intel works on TS Envy 15/17.

I have the original card in there since and I now have a much faster connection fiber with a Hauwei HG533 wireless router, I understand if I upgrade the card wireless singing all dancing all 802.11 b/g/n a I can connect to a faster speed. I m on XP Home SP3. I understand that the card must be a genuine product of HP or on the white list of the bios but I Don t know if it is available for my kit and where I can get a. I want the best available. I have attached a few photos. of the existing.

Thanks in advance for any help...

As your interest is to upgrade to an802.11b\g\n wireless adapter then you the simplest solution is to buy a Type I or Type II or Type III Cardbus wireless card.  You may need to search for this type of card in the second-hand market.

The card plugs on the the slots on the left side of your laptop.

There is no currently internal NIC that correspond to your laptop.

Your laptop is a generation of cell when only 802.11 a\b\g existed and that's what makes your best option cardbus cards.

    Hello

I think that you do not find the installed wireless card because it is hidden under the keyboard.

But if you remove the keyboard and to upgrade the WLan card by yourself, then you will lose the warranty. You want to lose the warranty?

If I was you I would ask an authorized for this task.
    What is your opinion?

He does not see in the Device Manager when I boot.  I have re-installed the abg wireless card came with the laptop.  It appears in Device Manager and works well.

Is it possible to get the laptop to recognize the new wireless card?

    Hello:

Here is the service manual for your laptop.  Can be found in Chapter 3, beginning on page 3-5 supported wireless cards.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01911053.PDF

Important note: you can buy only a wireless card that is listed in the manual and it MUST have the HP part number on it or it will not work. No ifs, ANDS or goals.

  • Satellite P870 - updated wireless card

Is it possible to upgrade the card wireless in P870?

    Its currently 802.11 b/g/n and I want 802.11 a/g/n, so I can use my 5 GHz bandwidth.

The wireless network card supports the standard WLan miniPCI and the module is removable.
This means that you can replace with another module wireless network card, BUT there is a question open about BIOS support.

Of my manufacturers of portable knowledge don't support these hardware upgrades and so detailed information about the supported modules is no more.

I think you can perform these updates to day but only at your own risk. In the worst cases, the BIOS would not recognize the WLan card or you would not be able to activate the WiFi module using the function keys.

  • Update wireless card for Inspiron 5749

    Hello.

Really hope someone can help me out here... long story short, I want to pass the card in my i5749 a card of a/b/g/n dual band instead of the default b/g/n card. The thing is, if I can find a number of correct form factor cards, none of them explicitly declare that they are compatible with this model of laptop computer...

So, basically, I want to know if anyone else is in the same boat, or if someone has the expertise to recommend an a/b/g/n card that will certainly work with my laptop.

    See you soon!

    Hello

Officially, the only cards that we know who are tested and confirmed to work in this system are the maps of DW1705 and DW1704 Dell.   There may be other cards that work well in the system, but not sure that you can find a lot of response on the support boards.

If you have found any other cards you went to web pages and tables to see if one of their customers have used these maps on the Inspiron 5749 to the manufacturer?  Maybe it's a better source of opinions than what you would find here on these boards, support.

No there's a white list of BIOS that will prevent the installation of any wireless card other than that provided by HP with the original from the sale of the unit. And there must be a version of HP of the card, not only the same chipset. Pages 57-58 lists the options available:

    Manual

  • Update of the dv6 7000qe wireless card

I've recently updated my card the Intel Centrino 2230N to the 7260AC band Dual Intel wireless on my laptop (dv6) 7000 Quad Edition. The laptop starts fine and I have installed the drivers for the Intel website 7260, but my laptop still think it has a Centrino N 2230.

Is there something I need to do to make my laptop see this material change? I saw that another user here was able to switch the cards without any problems, I don't know what goes wrong.

So it turns out that, if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, it's a 2230 N with an apocryphal label attached. :/

Thanks for all your help though!

Today, Dell released a new driver for the wireless card: Intel Dual Band Wireless - 8260 Driver AC, W10

I tried to install, but it will not be installed. The platform not supported. (Exit Code Name: ERROR_INSTALL_PLATFORM_UNSUPPORTED).  My device driver lists my wifi as card: Dell Wireless 1820 has 802 .11AC

I don't understand - all 9350's do not have the same wireless card? Dell website that lists all the templates as the NIC card: DW1820A 2 x 2 802.11ac 2.4/5 GHz + Bluetooth4.1

We remove installed driver software, and then install the Intel? Otherwise I do not know why Dell offers this update driver for a machine that does not have the Intel inside card.

    Peace.

  • Wireless card doesn't work after Windows Update

I have a Compaq Presario F730US with Vista. I have installed Windows Mobile Device Center on it, and the computer has stopped recognizing wireless card. Then, after trying to restore the original drivers and do several other things, I have done restore the computer originally installed at the factory.  The wireless worked well.  However, as soon as I updated all Microsoft Updates and before installing Windows Mobile Device, the wireless card no longer works again.  I restored the drivers, and it worked the first time.  Then a few other updates came through, and I can't get working again.  Any suggestions?  It's a Broadcom Wireless card. I saw that a gentleman has been upgraded for its presario to Windows 7 and had the same problem on another post and never had resolution.

The normal rule is to never accept update from Windows update device driver.

    Always bring the manufacturer.
