MacBok Pro running slow
best way to clean my macbook pro of duplicate files. Anything free out there?
Visit the App store and the Internet.
Duplicate files are not the reason why your MBP is slow unless they take ALL your HARD drive space.
If you want to pursue this case all in addition, download and publish a report of Etrecheck:

2011 Macbook pro running slow and beach balling
My Early 2011 Macbook pro worked extremely slow for a few months. He is lagging in the start-up and opening of all applications. It also happened to coincide with my Wifi, refusing to recognize my Macbook, he repeated that a device was already on the network with the same IP address. I tried reseting the IP address several times. But since he has never done this on other networks I received a new router this week and have not had a problem until now.
The biggest problem is the race slow, hot and delay. I have 8 GB of RAM and a 1 TB hard drive. I'm running OS X 10.11.5. Any suggestion or help is greatly appreciated!

MacBook Pro running slow even after upgrade
I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch model mid 2012, which had 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard drive, processor i5 2.5 Ghz, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB and running on OSX El Capitan version 10.11.5. I upgraded my RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB, still my Mac is slow. Apps for open at the usual time, he used to take when I had 4 GB of RAM. I bought the RAM correct as required by the specification of the laptop from the apple Web site. I tried all possible measures to increase my speed of laptop by Google but there was a lot of difference. Help, please!
There are 2 things you can try to improve the speed of your MacBook Pro.
1 backup all your data, then on boot hold down CMD + R, then open disk utility and format your hard drive. You go to install a new copy of Mac OS x.
2. follow the same steps as above but swap your hard drive outside with a SSD before doing the CMD + R reset tactical.
MAKE SURE THAT YOU BACK UP YOUR DATA FIRST
I have the same machine and had the same problem, my MacBook Pro is faster than ever.

Mid 2009 macbook pro running slow after update
I had my computer since 2009, everything was quickly until I upgraded to Snow Leopard to El Capitan. After the update to El Capitan turn quite slowly. He was also heat very quickly. I ran first aid and running being check. I backed everything up to TimeMachine, removed several old files (movies, photos, etc.), but it is still slow. In addition, iPhoto no longer works, but I'm not not like many concerned that the problem of speed.

- Uninstall McAfee. There is no virus circulating currently which can do damage to OS X, so this time programs, the antivirus are not necessary. The majority of them, what I and other contributors here have seen, adversely affects the performance of any system they are installed on. In addition, they protect you from what Mac users really need to worry, which is malware and adware. Malware and adware programs are installed by you, unlike viruses, who settle. The most common way in this case is when you download something via torrent or a comprehensive download site, as many times these installers are provided with the malware and adware. When you install one, install you this.
- Uninstall CleanMyMac 3. Mac don't need any program that claims it will be driven, clean, optimize, refresh, or organize your computer. Programs like CMM are called scamware for a reason.
- Uninstall Trusteer. See #1 why. If an antivirus program on a Mac is bad, more than one is even worse.

MacBook Pro running slow and crash
Hi, I was faced with a slow MacBook Pro two years ago. It was incredible for the first year and I've been making sure to not save files too heavy on that and have only a handful of applications.
I've just cleaned new (I checked through almost all alone on my files for what I could get rid of) and it of still slow and crashes regularly. It also takes forever to connect. I recently encrypted disc, which seems to have made it is still slower. I use it to edit video and design, but they make crash all the time. He also says that I have 250 GB in apps (that is what takes up the majority of storage), while I only did less 50 GB.
I back upwards on the time Machine and I was wondering if I should wipe and reinstall, but I fear that the encryption could cause me to lose access to the files, and I don't know if I can simply restore my back upwards or if I should reinstall everything manually. Any advice would be welcome! Thank you
What exactly happens when it crashes? Is there an error message?

I used to work only on PC, but now I have this 2009 macbook Pro. He had a record of 7200 RPM... but he died... I want to put a hybrid SSHD on it... will it run slower?
Several years ago I tested both a hybrid version Seagate 1 and later version 2 with my 13 "2009 MBP and the computer started more quickly with one of these drives with 7200 RPM drive. But that and save files were the only time where I saw an improvement of high speed. So no, not slower, but not really all that much faster. I ended up installing an SSD in the computer. Now that was an improvement.

This week my MacBook Pro 13 inch (end 2011) started to run slowly. The slowdown mainly occurs during internet browsing. I tried clearing my cache, reset my SMC and read other similar topics and followed their advice.
I just finished a report of entrecheck and is as below. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Caveat limited computer knowledge:

Start inSafe Mode and see if the problem persists?
Restart now ' shift '.
(Wait to take more time to start in this way because it runs a check of directory first.)
Also give it some time after the start because it is running maintenance routines at the beginning.

I have a mid of 2012 13 "Macbook Pro running OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.15 and most of the web based applications (including: Safari, Firefox, App Store, iTunes Store, among others) are running extremely slow or not loading at all." I tried to update some applications like Garageband, iTunes, Emoji, e.a., but iTunes could not fully download and update, and even then it took almost all day. The rest would start to download and do not about 10 seconds later. Some sites, like Amazon, sometimes loading but never display images just a small box with a question mark and the connections are just blue and underlined and running down the left side of the screen. My iPhone, iPod, Apple TV, laptop computer Dell and Dell desktop do not seem to have all these problems and all work perfectly well when I am browsing. I'm also having trouble downloading things, it says "analyze something" and that they never finish download. Can I do to solve this problem? And prevent it from happening in the future?
Go step by step and test.
1. turn off the power to the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it in, back to the wall. Turn on the router. Wait for all lights are light up properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer.
Boot mode safe.

Difficulty of slow start in OS X | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews
How to fix the slow down time and start. | MacTip.net
6 easy tips to speed up OS X Yosemite on your Mac.
Avoid using third-party software that claims to clean your computer. This software does more harm than good. In addition, you don't need it. Note that all computers become slower over time even in the normal conditions of use. Generally, the experienced users erasing the hard drive and do a clean install from scratch at least once a year or every time that the installation of a major upgrade of the OS. Well sure doing so also means that you need to maintain regular and several backups.
Add more RAM or reduce the number of simultaneously executed from applications and utilities. Remove unnecessary software such as anti-malware and that promises to clean your Mac. Look for the runaway process: Runaway applications can shorten the battery life, affect performance and increase the heat and fan activity. Also, visit The FAQ XLab and read the FAQ on the treatment with The Spinning Beach Ball of Death.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Run the Console application in one of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).
☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages
in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select
List of newspapers seen ▹ display
in the menu at the top of the screen bar.
Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Highlight date back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered since then until the end of the episode, or until they begin to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy messages to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.
The journal contains a large amount of information, almost all this is useless to solve any particular problem. When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't dump blindly thousands of lines in the journal in this discussion.
Please do not post screenshots of log messages - text poster.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
When you post the journal excerpt, an error message may appear on the web page: "you include content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." It's a bug in the forum software. Thanks for posting the text on Pastebin, then post here a link to the page you created.
If you have an account on Pastebin, please do not select private in exposure menu to paste on the page, because no one else that you will be able to see it.

If you haven't already done so, you can try to reset the system management controller. Otherwise, or if the reset has no effect, see below.
Do a 'genius' one appointment at an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider. You may need to leave the machine there for several days.
Back up the data on the internal disks before you turn on your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional - ask if you need advice.
If privacy is a concern, delete the partitions of data with the ability to write zeros * (do it only if you have at least two backups complete, independent, and you know how to restore on a blank disc from any one of them.) Do not delete the recovery partition, if it is present.
Keep your confidential data safe during the repair of the equipment
Apple recommends that you remove permission to a device in the iTunes store before serving.
* One SSD has no need to be set to zero.

Why is-Premiere Pro CS5 slower on my system than Premiere Pro CS 4?
I just upgraded Production Premium CS4 Production Premium CS5. Have Windows 7, 64 bit OS, 9 GB ram,
Processors Intel quad I-7 (over clocked to 2.90 ghz) 2.67 with hyperthreading. I have nothing of any real substance
running on my system in addition to Adobe. I've just loaded in a ton of DVC PRO HD 60 images and am editing 30 minutes
program. Once I am in Adobe first Pro CS 5, it works quite well, everything works well in real time. However, the time
I click away from Premiere Pro as on my desktop, then try to click back in the Premier Pro, my screen goes white, Premiere Pro says
"do not answer" in the title bar and everything freezes for a solid minute. 4 CS do not at all. Anyone know what is happening?
Eddiem TKS.
The goal is to help and solve problems for all parties involved so that we can all be more productive.
I never said or implied at all this:
To say there is no problem with CS 5 software is just ignorant happiness and to be honest, deteriorate distorted.
So... I'll put this another way for you then. I will not have any issues that you and Sacha face with P2 files in particular.
They review they rank, export etc...
I have an ongoing project that has 54 GB of mxf source files. Not a question that sounds like something that you mentioned above.
It's a lot of files or a large project... I don't know compared to your projects... but combined with mixed graphic files more seq TIFF and tgas, wavs more notice of AEFX... it certainly adds to the top in my system.
My material is not super computer. This is not even a system RAIDed.
Must report... I go really far, or, to and from something else that applications of the Adobe Suite in my Suite CS5 but often many of them are open at the same time.
I had a system glitch that caused 'go a little sleepy' apps, when left UN attended. It was an advanced power management framework. (some what hidden)
I also have a NAS, but this isn't for editing where to. IT has Media Junction in my configuration between suites for the file archive and transfer only.
Re: Why is-Premiere Pro CS5 slower on my system than Premiere Pro CS 4?
My experience is that I said previously. CS5 is much faster than CS4. I suspect that many others have a similar experience to mine.
So the question you guys are seen as being a little more unique to yourself.
Good luck

Mid 2011 Mac Mini running slow/a lot of balloons of beach/HDD to research and writing
I have a Mid 2011 Mac Mini, which runs slower than a snail's pace. I frequently get beach balls as I type this message. Startup time is very long, and the hard drive is often written / search/access for several minutes at random throughout the day.
This seemed to start after I have updated to El Capitan 10.11.6. I decided a few weeks to reinstall OS X without doing a thorough cleaning. It did not help the situation, so I then proceeded to install the latest beta of Mac OS 10.12 to see if that helped. Nope. I don't think I have a bad hard drive, either.
I have just run an EtreCheck and copied below. Any ideas? I don't want to run my computer at the Apple store. Thank you!
