Thank you.

N ° batteries are completely different in size, connections, and power. They are not interchangeable. You can run the computer using the AC charger with or without the battery.

  • After switching to macOS Sierra MacBook Pro MASSIVE battery drain

I have a MacBook Pro of the retina (end 2012) now under macOS Sierra and my battery is to be wiped out at a crazy pace of knots.

I used to be able to go out with my MBP without a power cord and have at least 6-7 hours of use and I run Parallels desktop as well, so when I went out Saturday and got less than 2 hours, I was just a little worried.

I've done just about everything which has been mentioned in conjunction with this issue, including, starting in safemode, NV and PR RAM reset, reset the hardware controller etc, etc nothing works.

Someone at - it any other suggestions, or is this just a waiting game for an update of Apple's Sierra?

  • MacBook Pro 17 "battery

My beloved 17 mid-2010 "Macbook Pro is no longer able to hold a charge. I desperately need a new battery, but apparently they are no longer available. Someone had a bit of luck with spare batteries and what is the best to buy?

On a side note, I really wish that Apple would bring back the 17 "Macbook Pro! I know she doesn't have a huge market, but would make me the happiest person ever. NEVER. This size of a cell phone is amazing. I have to pay anything to be able to buy a new one today.

  • MacBook Pro swollen battery and touch pad don't slam

My 2011 MacBook Pro has been inactive for 3 months and when I put it in the service of the touch pad will not work correctly.

After finding the empty battery, I loaded for several hours and it took the charge.  3 days later, the load is always good.  the problem is that, while the cursor moves easily, the touchscreen function (enter) will not work.  The pad seems to be a little swollen as well.

I was in a harsh climate in Saudi Arabia for a year and had a few touch pad issues with swelling of the battery.  When I returned in North America the problem disappeared.  Now the problem is back.

I'd like suggestions on maintenance or replacement battery.

    Hi there Jaggerdog,

If I understand correctly, you want to know how to go about setting up of service for your MacBook Pro that has problems with the battery. Take a look at the Web Service Response Center page linked below, it describes the service options for your device in several countries.

  • What are the normal batteries fresh cycle when buying a used macbook pro

    Hello

Looking to buy a macbook pro 2014, battery life is important enough and the machine, that I'm looking seems really well taken care of but the battery charge cycle is 300. Is this ok or normal? I don't like the idea that it is a third of the used way!

Regardless of the number of cycles a battery has gone through, replace the battery with five years of service.  Age is a factor in the health of a lithium-ion battery.

Assuming a battery will last in its setting of 1000 cycles design (most don't) suggests that 200 cycles per year would be realistic.  The MBP you are considering have 300 cycles seems to be quite normal given his age.  I wouldn't worry.

    Ciao.

  • Tethering bluetooth with Macbook Pro-, I can keep USB plugged after 100%?

    Hello

I just got the z3. I noticed that when sharing the spot with my Macbook Pro 13, battery pretty quickly, even if I turn it on to 3 G. So I started tethering with my Bluetooth instead, because I heard that drains the battery a little less.

My first question! Is the above correct?

My second question - if I connect the z3 to my Mac via a USB (loading in the process) is allowed to leave the z3 connected once it reaches 100%, or do I have to unplug the unit and let it do more cycles?

I know that the Mac will stop once it reaches 100% charge, but continue to use power - the z3 doesn't do the same thing, to protect the battery and to avoid overloading?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello and welcome to the community!

You will probably see a lower battery use when you tie over bluetooth instead of WiFi.

The phone will stop charging when the battery is full, so you can leave it connected.

  • That's why my macbook pro battery drains much more quickly than in the past?

The life of the battery of my (end 2013) 13 "MacBook Pro (OS 10.10.5) decreased a lot, very quickly, in the past months. There are 390/100 amount remaining fresh and the State of the battery is 'normal '. I do not leave the appliance plugged, "over" charge for long periods of time. I drained the battery fully before recharging for a full charge. Although wifi is usually left on; Bluetooth is usually disabled. I am running the same programs I ran for years.

Meanwhile, the battery for this machine seems to have declined precipitously.

I hope that others can offer advice on how to evaluate what is happening and what (if any) can do to improve the life of the battery.

I drained the battery fully before recharging for a full charge

This isn't a recommended service action. It can damage the battery if done repeatedly. I charge when mine gets below 20%.

You can't damage the battery by leaving the charger plugged in for long periods. There is overload protection very intelligent integrated in the battery and power on the computer systems.

A reduction of RUNTIME† is often a software problem. This Apple article is excellent to determine if this is the case and how to address the issue:

Apps can affect the performance of Mac, battery, temperature and fan activity - Apple Support

† - the battery life is time, usually years, before the batery fails and must be replaced; battery life is how many hours the pathophysiological dough power the computer before requiring a recharge.

  • MacBook Pro has started to randomly stop when it is on battery since the upgrade to El Capitan

I have a MacBook Pro (15 inch, early 2011) which works very well on the Mountain Lion for a long time. I finally got round to upgrading to El Capitan last week: directly to 10.11.6. A few days later he just powered down without warning while I was working. He was so very well for a few days, but then made several times in the last 48 hours.

I am moderately sure it happens only when it is on battery (it did not in the past hours 8 while that plugged). Whenever it happens, that there is no warning and the Mac then fine restarts (manually) - Although the clock resets always in 1970 until he can contact an NTP server. One of the curious side effects is that my PostScript fonts were blank on the screen in Excel for a few reboots yesterday but then OK once again!

No hardware has changed. Major software change is only El Capitan and possibly an iStat Menus update.

I have reset PRAM and SMC. I ran the short AHT. I disassembled the machine and clean the fans. they were OK, but the problem seems to occur when the Mac is hot.

Spotlight and Time Machine sometimes seemed to be struggling for the upgrade, and I also saw rpcsvchost with 100% of a core for a while. The machine feels sometimes slow - but for the last 8 hours, it was very good. The only model that I put in place, is that it seems to occur only on battery; It's even happened then that the Dock (etc.) were loading after logging in after an unexpected shutdown.

The other thing common is in the newspapers every time:

    Cause of previous stop:-128

I scanned a number of related posts to aspects of it, but do not look at who blames El Capitan rather than material. Yet, many people reported this kind of problem after the upgrade... Coincidence?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Cause of previous stop:-128

A negative stop code generally indicates a hardware failure. Have the Apple to assess your Mac. The fix may be as simple as a spare battery.
