macbook pro start 2011 15 "battery life

I have only 55 cycles of this battery. It says 'Normal', but the battery lasts about 40 minutes.

What's wrong? It's a battery from Apple.

I just got the logic board replaced. Mavericks running. 10.6.8 running prior. Before even the question.

With this low a charge cycle and normal reporting system, which should be a life time. Used mainly for some web and email, reading / writing.

No heavy streaming.

Is there a sensor to charge battery on the mac which could be faulty?

Reset the SMC could solve the problem.

  • Kingston Hyperx SSD Savage - compatibility problem of Macbook Pro start 2011

I bought Kingston Hyperx Savage 480 GB SSD with the intention to install it into my Macbook Pro beginning 2011. but my Mac does not recognize the SSD when I connect it via USB. The strange part when I restart the Mac keeping the SSD attached to it, he acknowledged. And I can copy and paste normally. in the case where if I deleted and plugging it back in, it is appears as not counted. is there a solution for this or if I should change the SSD?

    Should work well.

    connect the USB box,

Start DiskUtility, (a) select the drive, the long name,

    Select the partition tab in,

partition with the Table to Partition GUID, 1 partition only, OS X Extended (journaled), give it a name (like Mac - SSD).

After that it is ready to clone the boot disk and then swap the drives.

  • Mid-2015 MacBook Pro 15 has Horrible battery life

I have a Macbook Pro 15 mid-2015 is the basic model, 2.2 Ghz and 256 with no graphics other than the Pro of the Iris.  I got it for about 3 months and I take off the power once a weekish and use it around the House.  Whole reason I decided to go Apple was because I wanted to the battery life that windows machines cannot offer with that kind of power.

I must have got a spleen or something because my battery life is bad.  I lance 50% screen and backlight OFF and do nothing to keep open.  My Dock has nothing open except for the mail to notify me and my browser if I use it (98% of the time).  The battery life is maximum of 4-5 hours to do this constantly, the only time where I got was more a road trip where I turned the backlight and display off and using only iTunes to listen to music through my headphones via bluetooth, it provided for 20 + hours this day here.  Just get here for the last minutes went from 38 to 19 percent more than 31 minutes of battery time.  I know a decent amount about computers and I am a saver of energy mass unless I'm hip, low light, no backlight, no program didn't open that I do not use etc and yet I get a ridiculous autonomy.

What should I do? Any suggestions? I read somewhere on the power off and then when you power back up hold down Option + command + R to put something else inside the machine.

My battery life is normal for what I described?  It of not like I'm that fool who knows nothing about computers and leaves open pages, mail, messages, itunes, Skype and browser just because I can.  I leave nothing open (so no programs on the platform were the 'point' under them), erasing everything that isn't necessary VIA activity monitor, such things as creative cloud.  I'm just puzzled.  I must have got a dud.  Please help and advise me on what I should / test.

Running OS X El Capitan 10.11.3, but it's not just because of El Capitan, this has been like that since Yosemite when I bought first.

    Thank you

Your computer is still under warranty, so do the logical thing: make an appointment at the Apple Store - Genius Bar store and bring it into service. If you are in the United States or is unable to make an appointment in this way, contact your Apple store. Don't forget that you have free phone service for 90 days after purchase.

  • Trackpad MacBook Pro late 2011 does not not after upgrade

I just update the OS in my MacBook Pro (late 2011) which worked perfectly well 'El Capitan' to 'Sierra '. Everything went, smooth and pleasant. but now, the trackpad is completely erratic, is in itself (such as move and open programs like possessed). I tried several suggestions from apple such as checking for updates, check the settings, delete all the gestures, etc. I'm assuming that the material is very well that was perfectly fine yesterday... any suggestions please help.   -Note; I have to use an external mouse, and the latter is very well.

    Hello Med_,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It is my understanding that after upgrading to Sierra, your MacBook trackpad has become erratic. I know that my trackpad is an important part of my daily use, I can certainly understand your concern. I'm here to help get this resolved with you.

You did an excellent job so far! Then I recommend the system management controller (SMC) reset. This system can solve some unexpected behaviors. Follow the steps below:

    1. Stop the Mac.
    2. Unplug the MagSafe from Mac power adapter.
    3. Remove the battery. (Learn about removing the battery in the MacBook and MacBook Pro computers).
    4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    5. Reconnect the battery and the MagSafe power adapter.
    6. Press the power button to turn on the Mac.

The LED on the MagSafe power adapters could change State or temporarily disable when you reset the SMC.

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

If the problem persists, test this problem in safe mode. This will allow you to exclude the software as the cause. To help get started in safe mode and additional steps, use the steps and the link below:

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

    See you soon!

  • MacBook pro 15 2011 10 windows restart issue

    Hello

I have the macbook pro 15 2011 with intel core i7 2 GHz. 4 GB ram 500 GB drive HARD + SSD 120 GB (purchased recently with tray adapter HDD/SSD).
I have a strange problem with RESTART MAC in windows 10 company. If I restart windows by start I get a black screen with a single line: no aucun disque disk boot found, insert a floppy disk and press a key. I tried once more to restart, but the second time I pressed the ALT options and found strange thing that start menu does not show anything after a few minutes I saw recovery internet icon appeared. This problem occurs, restart windows through start or bootcamp app with option restart in mac os x. Then I stop mac and turn on, boots fine default OS (mac os x el capitan or windows) and with the option key boot menu appears with 2 choices of operating system.  Restart windows to mac os x works, simply very good.

I'll show you my not what I did for my new hardware and software installation:

    1. support usb bootable instalation with mac os x el capitan
2 changed main old HDD for a new SSD (location on hard disk)
3 installed mac os x el capitan on SSD.

4 used bootcamp to create the partition for windows
5 installed windows 10 on ssd with great drive
6 removed great player and place SSD hard disk space Super slot.
    7. installed formatted old hdd hard drive location.
8 booted system, no problem found until I tried to reboot from windows to mac os x through the bootcamp software.

I have turned off to quick start 10 Windows but did not help.
    Suggestions? Drivers, works very well

Where a problem? How can I repair the partitions or menu start-up do not start because its boring.
    IM new to macbook.
What can I test or do more?

Move your drive with Windows up to the main drive Bay and there leave. Put the OS x install disc in the Optibay. Test and verify.

There are paths in BCD, which can cause starting problems.

  • Double disc SSD/HDD on MacBook Pro late 2011

So I finally finished putting my double drive on my MacBook Pro late 2011. I ended up putting the SSD where the optical drive has been, since research told me that the end 2011 MBP is the lucky model with an optical drive that supports Sata III. If anyone can give me a reason to spend my SSD and HDD, please let me know.

Anyway, now I ask to help with setting up my macbook pro to use two disks. I copied everything on the SSD and the SSD drive is set to start my computer to the top. I can already tell that this thing is so much faster now. However, I basically just have two exact copies of my all my stuff on the two disks. How can I configure my computer to know which drive to use? I want a few things to use my HARD drive and other things to use my SDD, not all at once. Where are these settings and how to do?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Jdsr4c:

    I have a Macbook Pro 2011 start.

I installed a 500 GB Samsung 850 EVO instead of HD.

I moved the HD to the optical Bay.

Optical Bay has 3 Gigabit speed. HD space has a 6 Gigabit speed.

See the screenshots of my mac.

The old HD, I would reformat is not bootable.

I use my old HD for storage of movies, etc.

So for example, I'll download a movie and then move it to my old hard drive. I'll put it in a directory named for example movies.

On the SSD, I'll do an 'Alias' pointing to the movies on the old HD directory (on windows, it would be a shortcut).

In any case, hope this helps.

  • MacBook Pro starts does not after crash

    Hello

first... Sorry for my English ;-)

I have worked on my MacBook Pro (early 2011) and the screen was distorting the market. I did a reset hart (by pressing the power button / stop to stop). After that he starts not more. I erased the MSC, the Cache of the NVRAM. Tried to boot in recovery of the Internet. But I get only a blank white screen and the fan at full power. Beginning not more.

What it could be and what can I do?

    Thank you very much!

Your MBP is perhaps in this category:

Make an appointment with an Apple store genius bar and tested it.

    Ciao.

  • Why won't my Macbook Pro start in recovery mode even when I press Cmd and R

Why don't my Macbook Pro starts in mode of recovery even when I restart and press Cmd and R or also I tried Cmd Alt and R

Is the EXACT year/model of your MBP a mid-2009 as the current OSX?

Depending on the circumstances, you may need to use the drives original installation to help you MBP rerun.

    Ciao.

  • iPhone 6 s 4 K video on iMac MacBook Pro 2010/2011

If I take 4K video on my iPhone 6s and import it on my iMac MacBook Pro 2010/2011 will be playing the video and watch as she lets say a new iMac 4 / 5K?  iMovie and final cut PRO supports 4K video for editing right?

It will look like at its native resolution. On your Mac, the displayed video will be reduced as a result of your visible area onscreen.  That does not mean the video will look terrible, but not so good that it would have on the 4 k or 5 k.

  • MacBook pro starts the process but stop before midway lights

    HI -.

My MacBook Pro starts the boot process but stops and stops before reaching the point to halfway. This can be the result of something that I did yesterday, I disabled my MacBook during a software update. I don't know what has been updated.  (I've left for a few hours and would not leave my computer on while I was out.)

Is there something at home, I can do to fix this?

    Thank you!

If you do not know what has been updated, nor do we. Could have been a critical system component. Try to start in Safe Mode and see if that clears up the problem. If this is not the case, start in Recovery Mode, select disk utility and make a disk first aid. If that doesn't work or you can't get into Recovery Mode, then try Internet Recovery Mode, while the Mac is connected to the Internet (press Command + Option + R) so it starts off Apple servers and reinstall OS X. If all goes well, you won't lose too much data.

My internal superdrive drive just died, a kind of inner part rattling... sounded like a trombone bouncing around. Has to be replaced. Even if it is very slow, you must make a return upwards before the race "repair disk". The risk of data loss is minimal, but do it anyway: Save and run to repair the disk.

As for what it implies - most of the time nothing more than simply sitting and waiting to do his thing.
