Macpro 2010 copper heat sinks

Does anyone know if the copper memory heat sinks makes no significant difference to the MacPro 2010?

The cooling tubes immersed in some models take precedence over copper.

  • Silver heat sink compound Arctic

I have a laptop t 1000 cto dv8, and while I don't think it's overheating, I'd prefer that it works a little cooler. Arctic silver makes a significant difference in the temperature of the CPU and GPU?

The times ' now for both are at about 50 to 55 ° C. However the lower video sequences or animated avatars causes the time. rise to 60 ° C and even after that I closed the time programs. don't fall very quickly.

I watched the video of reflow the where they put a thin plate of copper between the heatsink and the kernel. My question is, it is necessary that the thermal paste is placed between the copper coin and the heat sink, as well as next to the base of CPU/GPU?

None of youtube videos show this carried out.

    Thank you

I tried to answer this post before, but somehow my internet connection went wrong.

Your current time is good enough. Not necessary to apply the copper mod. Application of copper mod would increase the heat transfer, but will lose the flexibility of the heat sink, please be careful in the choice of thickness of copper.

Reapply a good thermal paste would increase of heat transfer from the CPU to the heat sink.

In my case, I'll do it after 2 years of use of the laptop. Portable over 2 years will be have dust stuck between the fins of the heatsink and probably have a thermal paste dry.

Above suggestion is for the advanced users, novice users will find themselves with missing screws and interrupts here and plastic components.

Please take some photos if you want to always do and post in the hardware section.

  • HP Pavilion DV6-3210us: different heat sink? (HP Pavilion DV6-3210us)

    Hello

Recently, I posted a message on a HP Pavilion dv6-3210us death.

Received a motherboard replacement & after installation, I turned on. The fan ran & almost from the start, the computer turns off. When I turned it back to try again, he came with a message 'overheat '. I waited and tried again, and yet once, it returns the same results...

Received another card mother replacement today and after further review (the original replacement is exactly the same) there is a chip with 3 screw for an another heat sink holes. It seems to be a video card with chips 4 memory along the side of it. The jury is exactly the same as the original with the exception of these chips. Does anyone know about this chip & if there is another type of heatsink / fan for it?

Thanks for any assistance, you may be able to provide.

    Hello @Dyke67ny,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I read your post and see you're wondering if there's an another heatsink for your HP Pavilion dv6-3210us Entertainment.

I took a glance at the guide to maintenance and maintenance for your laptop, there are two different heatsinks for this model of laptop. The type of heat sink depends on the graphics used in the notebook (either discrete or UMA).

  • Re: Need new heat sink of heat for my Satellite L500-1XZ

Hello, I have to replace my radiator on my Satellite L500-1XZ together. Any idea where I can find a heatsink for this model, because I searched and searched and can't find anything yet.
The exact model is L500-1XZ PSLJHE
number on the heat sink is: 0a AT0920020V0 AVCS 101st

Please if anyone has any info on where I can find heater help me! Thank you!

I have my opinion L500 all have the same construction and I also think that you should simply seek radiator L500. With a little luck you can find it on eBay or googling autour.

Another way to contact Toshiba nearest service provider and ask if you can order a part with this part number. I hope they can do for you.

  • Satellite L20: Strange noise from heat sink when the power adapter is purchased

    Hello

I own a Satellite L20 laptop and when I take the power cord out of my L20 and power to the battery on a strange sound high tone appears when I put my ear on the heat sink and can be heard normally.

It is never used to do this.
    Any ideas?

I don't know if you can hear the sound, as I do, when to do as you described, but this noise is coming from the CPU, when your phone is inactive or sous-travaille.

Have it on my computer Toshiba no as well and everything I read that there is nothing to worry about and normally, you does not recognize.

    Hello

It is waterproof or heat sink grease.

    Thermal grease
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_grease

Computer stores, Radio Shack, BestBuy and similar stores sell it although there are
    different types.

Check with your system manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer or the manufacturer of the processor
for the types recommended. Most of the shops will be good advice because they use it often.

    I hope this helps.

  • reuse the heat sink with fan for computer laptop G72 nine?

    Greetings!

I need to replace the fan on my laptop and see several put on sale with the correct part below number... but many only list the fan without heatsink at reasonable prices, but only a few include the heatsink and the cost much more!  Anyone know if the heat sink can be removed from my old fan and reused by a new one or are inseparable?  The full model is G72-B60US, which is also called a "xg988ua.  Thanks in advance!

Heatsink with fan module - UMA

They are separable, and given that the radiator is actually a piece of metal is probably defective. It is a bit of a chore to remove the old fan and install the new in the old radiator but can be done.

  • We need heat sinks to be installed en XW8600 with two QC XEON E5450 CPU

    Hello

I plan to buy a HP XW8600 refurbushied and it does not appear that it has installed radiators.  I wonder if it's a really must have heatsinks installed for this system with two QC XEON E5450 CPU.  I will use this system to host multiple Virtual Machines using VMWare or OracleVM.  It has 32 GB of RAM.

    Appreciate your response and pointers.

    Concerning

    Chandra

    Chandra,

It is strange that someone would sell the workstation xw8600 without heat sinks.  You really need a heatsink / fan on each processor.  These processors run 80 watts maximum TDP each and so you do not need to worry to buy double height double-fan 'Performance' radiators.  You have to buy the combo single-large heatsink thermal / common fan which is used for the xw6600 and the xw8600 currently going for about $30.00 each, used.  The part number, you can search in eBay, is 446358-001.

HP had the combo 'double height' radiator/fans available for processors used xw8600 greater than or equal to 120 watts TDP maximum per processor.  Those are double-expensive.

The process of safely removing the original processors, their cleaning and loading them safely back inside with the proper application of thermal paste (Noctua is my favorite), and then properly attach the new heaters/fans with appropriate screws torque technically maybe is something best left to an expert with experience.  Given your question, suppose you who will hire.

  • Pavilion dv7t 6100 - LM726AV: replacement of heat-sink/fan using the thermal pads and thermal paste/paste

    Hello

The fan on my laptop died so I am trying to replace the fan and the heatsink unit. The manual that I use specifies that thermal grease should be used on the cpu and heat pads must be used on the graphics processor and the capacitors.

The arrival of the new fan it came with heat pads on all relevant areas of the sink as a tube of thermal grease. When I removed the old fan, thermal pads have proved only on the capacitors and the components around the GPU and that thermal grease was used on the CPU and the GPU.

My question is: how this part must be installed? Should I remove the fron pads thermal heat sink that covers the processor cpu and graphics and do not use the thermal grease in these areas? Or the thermal grease can be used here and let the thermal pads on the heat sink?

Thanks for your help - thank you for the advice/opinions in this case.

You can remove the protections and pass with the dough so but only f, you are sure that the metal on the core processor and graphic is in solid contact. And there, I meant it touches and also has a lower compression. For me, the thermal paste is superior coolant and should be used on really hot spots. However, if the metal is not full, solid contact you run the risk of overheating.

  • Speed reduced... heat sink fan!

I have HP pavillion 1211-ax/entertainment notebook, my heatsink fan speed is reduced...!    Yes.

    How I came to know...

I downloaded GPUZ in that tab censor its fan speed showing (%) - 30%

not only this my speed of fans remains even when the temperature of my cpu goes to 95' C... now my average cpu temperature is 90 ' C.

Even if give some load on the gpu fan speed remains same... and after 95 my lappy stops.

On Lappy statup @ begning HP works test (or something)... in which the fan speed increased to 100% and then back to normal... that dosent like also seems to be coming...

earlier, my when playing games when the fans speed increased to 100% lappy used to vibrate and ring (fan)... and the average temperature was about 70' C.

I was saving my lappy on during the night for download movies... then he used to get so hot the morning...

I THINK THAT ITS BESAUSE OF THIS...!

so, please help me wat should I do or wat could be the problem... As soon as possible...
