mail application will not sync!

The standard email application that comes to the surface has stopped working properly, when I press the sync button, it says that my email account is unavailable and that it does not display new emails I have received. I had this problem since the middle of January. Anyone have any ideas?

You may need to change your e-mail account settings? Drag from the edge of the screen and open the charm of settings in Mail. Choose your email account and see if the settings are correct - as the password. You can also try to delete the account and adding it back.

FYI - The Mail app goes tomorrow with a few improvements. Not sure if the update will solve your problem though.

    The Mail app will not keep email deleted out of my Inbox. I remove a bunch of old email, and then it reappears in my Inbox, next time I open the Mail application.  This happens in the Mail application on all my devices: mobile phone of Nokia Surface, computer,.  The web version (Outlook.com) works correctly.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mail app Ant it does not solve the problem.

    This could be a problem with the e-mail application on the computer that could request an update.

  • Windows 8 mail application will not synchronize all messages

    I have this problem since I installed windows 8 on free night. In the mail application, when I access the settings and select "anytime" option for which of my posts to show (it is a story of @hotmail.com) it won't. He said that all the sync messages, this can take a while, but then it appears almost instantly and said could not synchronize messages.     I just fixed problem mail app sync. Click mail application should be open, and then open charms, go to settings, open accounts, to check the passwords for each e-mail account, mine was different an old password, so changed, works fine now.

  • Windows Mail application do not sync

    I've been using Windows 8 for some time and have always had a bit of success blindly with the Mail 8. As I am now with the device as the Tablet more, I want to use the mail, rather than Outlook application. However, I have the following problem.

    When I click on synchronize I see at the top right of the display the message michael.***@***.com is unavailable. However, if I try to connect using a browser or with Outlook, I have no problem connecting to the service.

    The e-mail account is the account associated with my Tablet and a Windows Live account, even though I have a custom domain. Can I use other services such as SkyDrive, store etc, I guess this isn't a problem of password, and I can't change the password in the messaging application, as this is the account of the tablet.

    If I go into settings, accounts, the e-mail account. I can see the following error. There is a problem with the security certificate for the server. The address in the certificate does not match the address of the server. That can happen... etc...

    Now first I have checked the checkbox ignore certificate errors, but still have the question of synchronization. The error is also surprising that there is a Windows Live account...

    In fact, I did exactly that a week or two ago and things seem to work much better. Emails are now virtually in real time, and I have much more confidence in the application.

    Interestingly, if I do a manual sync, I still get the error, but it seems now that I have this error when there is nothing to synchronize.

    Thank you for your update on the issue.

    I suggest you to reset Windows Store Cache and check.

    a. press on the key Windows + Q.

    (b) in the search box, type WSReset.exe and press ENTER.


    This should reset your cache to the store.

    I had my email working in the mails via POP3 for several years successfully.

    As part of installing another e-mail provider, I decided to make changes and removed the "Blank email" POP3 account and set up on IMAP. Since he did not accept all incoming mail and I lost everything in my Inbox!  The connection to the server to send emails (via SMTP) works, but the 'sign in' doctor says he can not connect to IMAP and tells me to "check that the username and password are correct". Both are! The IMAP connection is configured to run on Port 993, such as advised by "E-mail Virgin."

    My webmail works fine. The problem is with Mail not with the provider.

    I wonder if there is a file set that is still ongoing with the old POP3 settings?

  • Email application will not retrieve email

    I added an imap account, and Yes, the parameters are defined for the extraction, however the mail app will not retrieve email.  It's not until I have actually go into the email app that new emails appear.  I never close the app and simply let it run.

    Also the email application will not recover email because they arrive - it gives a sync error.  So, I put it to fetch every 15 minutes.

    The Surface will not get so sleepy?  I thought it was supposed to still get even while he slept.

    My Surface behaved in the same way. It worked fine on my desktop of Windows 8. I tried everything I could think of including the removal and the addition of the Gmail account, making several updates to the full, etc. Nothing seemed to work. At a time after a refresh, he worked temporarily. He leaves again after the Microsoft account has been automatically added. It cannot remove the account from Microsoft. My Microsoft account was my Outlook.com account which comes from my Gmail account-related email. I stopped the link between an account Gmail and Outlook.com. My surface finally started working correctly. He worked for a few days now.

    Mine has started working now too.
    I uninstalled the mail (and related) app, then ran a cleaning disk and reinstalled the mail application.  So far so good.

    SOME applications will not open on my Apple Tv.  Updated to iOS 10 a few days ago and everything was fine.  Now, not a single application will open.   Tried to not restart, no luck.

    Try the following steps for the Apple TV 4, check if things work after each step if necessary, before you try the next.

    1. Restart the Apple TV (settings > system > restart).
    2. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL cables for 30 seconds.
    3. Restart your router. (Also try to remove the power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    4. Reset Apple TV (settings > system > reset > reset all settings)
    5. Restore the Apple TV (settings > system > reset > restore)

    I'm under Lion with iTunes 12.2.2.25 and my new iPhone 6s more will not sync.  Unfortunately, I can't spend the MacBook to El Capitan due to age.  iPhone syncs with El Capitan (just tested this, do not) it seems crazy to me that my Mini iPad will sync, running the same iOS but my phone won't.  Help?

    Then sync your iPhone.

    Best to disconnect the iPhone from your Mac during the update process.

    If you use iCloud for you calendar, then they must synchronize.  Is enabled on both devices under settings-> iCloud calendar?

    I guess you mean that the sync button in iTunes, not on the iPad, will not work. If you are sure you have the latest version of iTunes and iOS (your profile shows 8.1) try quitting iTunes on the computer, restart the computer and force restart your iPad

    No data is lost during this procedure. Hold on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
