  • Firefox not working in Win7 now it crashes at startup even after a clean install. is there a problem with Symantec?

Firefox worked on my Windows 7 desktop. One day he gave me a report of crash at startup, I went through the troubleshooting procedures suggested. I tried restarting, upgrade, uninstalled and reinstalled, uninstalled and cleaned the files and the registry and deleted the files module then resettled but nothing works. It keeps giving a crash report on startup. I remember that my Symantec software gave a message that FireFox has been stopped due to an attack on my system. Ever since then, it won't work and I can't seem to cross the screen to crash at startup of FireFox.

Thank you for the report crash IDs. If you open the error reports and click on the 'Modules' tab, you will see that the first on the list in each case is "FLVSrvLib.dll". This module installs with various programs of Applian Technologies including Freecorder and Replay Media Catcher.

This crash is closely related to have BOTH software Applian software of security AND Norton. As no doubt you don't want spend away from Norton, you can remove or disable the Applian software as follows:

    (1) uninstall and restart

If you have either of these programs and it is not essential, try to uninstall it then restart Windows to ensure that none of its components are running.

Firefox will start normally after that?

    (2) avoid auto-start

If you do not uninstall the program, a few others said using the msconfig program to stop execution at startup FlvSrvc.exe circumvented the problem.

    See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-system-configuration

You may still need to restart to unload the software of your current Windows session.

    Success?

  • Firefox crashes at startup, even in safe mode

Firefox has just started to crash at startup, even in safe mode.

I also tried to create a new profile (which Firefox let me do), but it crashed as soon as I tried to use the new profile.

The only way I could get it to start is putting him to work offline, which is obviously not very useful.

Here are a few crash IDs:

Thanks for the tips. I still don't know what was wrong, but a restart of the computer has set.

  • Firefox crashes on startup - going straight to the Crash Reporter

Firefox started crashing on startup today ' hui - goes directly to the Crash Reporter. Does not correctly send the accident report. Firefox in safe mode does not help. Tried to uninstall followed by clean install, no change. Tried to clean the installation of an earlier version 41, 0 - no change.

Just before what happened got an opinion on Norton Toolbar, and I chose not to activate it.

Have also tried to turn Norton turned off before reinstalling - no change. Also said Norton to ignore xul.dll, which sometimes he puts in quarantine during updates (detection of false suspects cloud 9).

The later saved report of June so probably isn't relevant. Here's what the Crash report attempts to send:

This report also contains technical information about the State of the application when it crashed.

Hmm, Yes, incident reports are old now.

As long as I can guess, I note something that is coming a lot lately: If you use Norton Security software, it seems to be a serious boot problem crash if you also have a program called Freecorder from Applian Technologies. If you find Freecorder in your Start menu > all programs or in your control panel, uninstall a program, and it is not crucial to keep it, please try to delete it. You have to maybe stop and restart Windows to make sure that it is completely disabled.

  • 41 of Firefox crashes, FIrefox was crashing at startup from the 40.0.3 updated

    Crash ID: bp-fceb36ed-dad2-4eab-9836-687df2150928

    Hello
After update to Firefox 40.0.3 several weeks back, Firefox would crash at startup. I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled FIrefox (now with version 41), this is updated to Windows (Vista 64-bit), shockwave and Flash Player updated, uninstalled Firefox and deleted the Mozilla folder in AppData Roaming directory. Update some addins, FreeMake in particular. Disabled antivirus (Norton 360). I'm unable to start Firefox in safe mode (when I hold SHIFT and you try to start Firefox comes immediately to the crash report). Versions prior to 40.0.3 worked without any problems.

I look forward to hear from you, thanks! David

Sorry to hear about the accident and that you have the ID of the report.

The signature seems a disproportionate impact on the users of Vista. There is a bug in the accident report, but it is for the test of 64-bit versions of Firefox and the final versions are all 32-bit versions.

I see a reference to FLVSrvLib.dll in the report (at the top of the list in the mini Modules tab), which is a DLL associated with Freecorder program Applian Technologies. In other threads, users have experienced startup crashes if they Freecorder and Norton.

If you have indeed the Freecorder program and it is not essential, try to uninstall it then restart Windows to ensure that none of its components are running.

Firefox will start normally after that?

  • Firefox crashes at startup for a single user, but not another

    Crash ID: bp-df3a48d7-363c-4d2f-87d3-f73902140723
    Version: 31
Crashes at startup for a single user, but not another. Both are directors.
I uninstalled and reinstalled. No change to each user.
Crashes in safe mode as well (hold down the SHIFT key)
No present addons in the other user.
    Ran Malwarebytes and cleaned
Ran CCCleaner and clean up all registry including uninstalled Firefox entries.

This is not useful if firefox crashes at startup. because you cannot start to create the new profile.

  • 10.2.3 crash at startup

Since the update I get a crash at startup or when you choose a template. I tried to create a new user and with the new logical user not crushed (seen a video on youtube on this subject). Anyway to fix that works in my usual user?

I suggest that you download the app free "FCS Remover" (digitalrebellion.com) and use it to uninstall LPX.  Reset.  Launch of the App Store, in the purchase section, find Logic Pro X and click install.

  • Firefox started crashing on startup this morning (23 oct), reset does not help

Since this morning (October 23), Firefox crashes at startup. Also, it crashes in safe mode. After the reset, Firefox has started once. At the next startup, Firefox crashed again and the same problem reapppeared.

I have several submitted incident reports, and I add the last 5 ID:s here:

Like I can't start Firefox, I can't acquire the troubleshooting information in the box below.

    I'm grateful for any help.

    Kind regards

Hello daniel, it seems there is a library named SPVC32.dll on your computer involved in these accidents. a googles search reveals that this may be part of 'Conduit search Protect', which could be considered adware or malware.

go to Control Panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software you have in place and various other tools such as the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

Fix Firefox problems caused by malicious software

  • Last update of Firefox's Nightly 26.0a1 causes a crash at startup and reinstalling doesn't fix it.

Today, every night to day as usual, but it will not start rained, instead of crashing on startup, asking me to send a report to Mozilla. After the tests repeated start-up it and failing, it offers safe mode, which disables modules and works.

You will then have no choice but to use an older version of Firefox (Aurora, beta, release) for the times when you really need xensemble.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Try to update the graphic display driver.

  • Update of FF 18.0.2, now FF crashes at startup

I upgraded FF 18.0.2. Update immediately after FF crashes at startup. FF is running in safe mode.
    Crash ID: bp-f138d304-0040-4ac9-b51e-ab8c12130206

    Please notify. Thank you.

    Update to the original problem:

While operating in Mode safe, I disabled all my extensions. Starts normally, even with extensions disabled, would result in the crash described above.

After restarting the computer, I tried to boot normally the FF. To my surprise FF started in normal mode, and all my extensions were always disabled. This allowed me to re-enable each extension one by one to try to identify what extension could be the cause of the plant. I was able to reactivate all the extensions without problems.

I used FF normally with all the extensions enabled for two days without the crash. Although it pains me that I was not able to identify the cause, I am convinced that the problem is resolved.

Thank you for all your help.

    EDIT 06/06/2012:
I solved the problem by following the advice of cor - el to create a new profile:

@cor-el: Sorry, I just create a new profile to help
    firefox -no-remote ProfileManager
and it actually fixed startup crash.
