• Reading SCORM variables

  I was curious to know if anyone has some insight on how to read the SCORM variables in captivate once a project is published on a LMS System.  Here's my problem.  I would like to use captivate to extract user data present during execution of the cmi.learner_name variable and store the data in a variable of captivate, I can then display the names of users (or otherwise use the data).

  Does anyone have experience implimenting it?  I was considering using javascript to assign the value to a variable of captivate, but I'm a little lost as to how to pass the variable to captivate by javascript.  In addition to having this happen, because I'm sure that there is an initialization of the questions.  I would also like to be able to use captivate to do a simple debugger project to use when you work with an LMS again using the same principle.  Any suggestions?

  I did it through a combination of JavaScript and Flash. You need JavaScript to get the value of the LMS, and then I used a Flash built into Captivate file to show / process value. Once you have the value in Flash, you can assign the value to a variable defined by the Captivate user.

  The 'problem' with stuff SCORM is the difference between SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004. For some reason any many major LMS' are still using the old standard SCORM 1.2, while some use the standard SCORM 2004 'new '. There are fundamental changes in these two versions of SCORM, so, basically, you would need to make a file SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 format.

  If you don't know Flash then you could probably (just guessing here) set the value of your SCORM variable to a variable defined by the user of Captivate via JavaScript, but I have no idea how to do that.

• A major update for parameters please!

  DEVELPORS ATTENTION AND SUPPORT!  answer this riddle fast, why is it some parameters for the lock screen insofar as the lock screen user settings? I don't like where I no longer have the ability to slide to unlock. IM used to swipe and I don't have a reason to click on the home button if I don't havve a finger password. Please provide the users of the solutions and new parameters.

  I prefer to reduce the options, for example I'm rigging 'size' to distribute only one of them-in my eyes - range 'useful '; or create by rigging the drop-down menu 'plans', for example for the color selections...

  'Major settings' as Transform or filling or 3D can be published, just click Reset arrow, and all the "sub menu" get published too... can't imagine how to make the publication easier...

• I need to reduce the quality parameters of the videos that I have in my video file - I have this accompolished with success in the past, but is no longer remimber the exact process I used in windows movie maker

  I import a video game in my video camera - this is usually the major e-mail easily - I succsufully reduced the quality setting in movie maker window in the past in the medium range and they e-mail very well - for some reason I forgot the process for this - it's very sikmple - I can't find the the right path to get there - please help - John

• Parameters to win 8 and SSD drive

  Just bought a h9 - 1440t with windows 8 pro and an SSD.

  Can you tell me:

  1 - is the motherboard SATA 2 or SATA 3?

  2. are there additional parameters I should do to ensure the best performance of the SSD drive?

  I was led to believe that I had to disable indexing and to put all temporary files on the secondary drive which I use for data.

  The majority of our units produced since Feb 12 will use SATA3

  And Yes, to disable indexing and assigning temporary files (and other files from storage) to your secondary drive would be wise.

• LMS 3.2.1 netconfig error

  I use LMS 3.2.1 and everything by deploying the configuration to the device by use Netconfig, I get the error message below. All orders of deployment successfully but the State of the Netconfig work always failed due to the error message below;

  Order (s) has failed on the TFTP device: impossible on the device.

  However, I can sync successfully archive the same features.

  Transport-> management Archive Settings = SSH TELNET TFTTP RCP

  -> Deployment configuration, the parameters of transport = SSH TELNET TFTTP

  Please tell us how to rectify the problem.

  You use the defined system of models to push the Netconfig work or you use the AD-HOC option?

  If you use a defined system models using ADHOC work and see if it makes a difference.

• Incorrect score from the LMS registration

  Our Organization is using SuccessFactors LMS to deliver e-learning courses. We are currently converting our HTML5 courses and are having problems with the LMS record the score incorrectly. We don't experience these same issues with courses published in flash.

  I created a course with question 1 quiz (10 points) - when I tested it in the LMS answering all the questions correctly, he recorded as complete with a score of 100 (SuccessFactors records the percentage scored rather than points).

  Then, I created a course with 5 questions quiz (50 points) - when I tested it in the LMS answering all questions correctly it registers as full, but with a score of 80. We cannot work where tire this partition, it is does not concern the number of percentage points.

  Maybe you could try to send the score ONCE instead of rattling of the SGA each slide.

  There is an option in the Quiz > Reporting screen to change the SCORM model called something like SendDataAtEnd. It sends only the score to the LMS once for each quiz, to the and.  It is perhaps interesting to see if SuccessFactors has this issue, because Captivate continues to send this data all the time.

  I'm clutching at straws here because this LMS does NOT Act that way.

  I have LearnerWeb LMS System. I always published Lectora files. I downloaded a Captivate 8 (AICC) project and it is not from the LMS, although its placement in in Captivate... Any ideas how or what I can do?

  Is ACEC who supports LearnerWeb?

  I investigate LearnerWeb forums, and see if someone has posted recommended to publish settings for Captivate.

  For our LMS, we use SCORM course developed in-house and AICC is used only for externally hosted material as is tracking options are limited. (Once again, to our LMS. YMMV!)

  Also, there are parameters in the Cp of features publication that could conflict with the SCORM / AICC settings, if you want to get detailed advice, it is best to publish a screenshot of activate (Quiz / Reporting) and the Configuration screens.

• How to reduce the LMS assigned at the beginning of the instance?

  I was trying to see if it didn't there has in any case that I can reduce the memory allocated to CMS when the db began, without restarting the database?

  I use "memory_target = 4G" parameter in the init.ora file, there is no setting sga_max_size, sga_target or memory_max_target.

  Well, SGA_TARGET is the only parameter that you can change without reboot, but it is not sensible as your allocated LMS will be always the same, since it is allocated at startup.

  Reboot is your only option.

• Captivate 9 course freezes in LMS

  My class of 9 Captivate will not play on my LMS. It freezes and does not load. I have another course that was built using Captivate 9 that works very well and it was published under the same parameters. Any thoughts are appreciated.

• Major Photoshop lag when using ATI Radeon HD 5770 and Yosemite

  I have a Mac Pro early 2008 running the ATI Radeon HD 5770 (recommended by, purchased directly from Apple). Since the installation of Yosemite my CC 2015 (or 2014) Photoshop has become excruciatingly difficult to use because of the major lag. I get the spinning beachball after almost every order using a brush or eraser (15 seconds or more of delay). I did a clean install of Yosemite and always have the same question. In Mavericks, Photoshop CC 2014 worked perfectly without any lag.  I adjusted the performance parameters in the pane of Photoshop preferences without success (Advanced Graphics Processor settings Basic), Normal and advanced without success. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations how to fix this problem?

  If your Mac makes a video card, then this is a way out. Apple is promising El Cap will address the issues of speed of Yosemite, then maybe who will take care of him if you don't mind the wait. Adobe works with them about it.

• Why not work quiz slides in LMS?

  Using Captivate 7. SCORM 2004. I added three choice quiz multiple slides of the course, intercalated between pages of content, to act as exam questions. Each slide of questionnaire has a send and a clear button.

  When I rebooted the being updated, now with the quiz slides, for the LMS (pierre angular-environment of the scene), the options on the quiz slides are not clickable and submit it and clear buttons are missing.

  My settings are:

  Completion - based views of slide - 100%

  -From the views of the slide - 100% success

  Quiz - "optional - the user can jump."

  Pass/Fail - 0% required to pass

  If failure: enable infinite attempts - box (but I also tried 1 attempt)

  Thanks, Lieve. In fact, I think that the LMS did not correctly display the quiz slides is because he had already struck me as 'complete' (I had taken the course several times previously.) More in all the different versions I rebooted our training environment, I kept change the quiz parameters, etc., and I think the poor LMS was so confused. So after I did a little more changes to the course (see below) and logged in as a different user, course and quiz slides appear correctly.

  I made these changes to the quiz settings in Captivate:

  -I based completely on the single "read slides" - not on "Quiz is passed."

  -On the parameters of 'Pass or Fail', I changed "Go to the next slide" to "continue".

  and under "if fault of grade," I've changed "1 attempt" of "infinite attempts."

  I also removed the box click reportable of blade 1.

  So I do not know which of these changes has solved the problem, but the course works correctly now, thankfully.

• Problem with Captivate 8 and SumTotal learning LMS Maestro-

  I get white screen when lance course published under the title of SCORM 2004 using Captivate 8.  All the publication settings are identical to those used with Captivate 7 and all classes of properties and parameters are the same in the LMS as course published using Captivate 7. At the launch of course, instead of the opening of the route screen, a white frame appears showing the playback bar course and LMS navigation bar. Logon screen does not appear until the user clicks on the button play on the PlayBar. No idea why this is happening?  Here is a screenshot of the white frame.

  Because it worked, obviously, the Chrome issue 36 comes break HTML5 output.  I hope that the patch solves everything.
