• Photoshop cannot load the 3D LUT files maximum quality.

  Hey all, revently I have experimented with the export of "looks" as 3D lookup tables, however, were broadcast in an error where photoshop is unable to open 3D LUTs exported at maximum quality (256 grid points). When I export to 128, it works very well but as I close this maximum quality (which I would ideally use) I get the following error when you try to load the LUT in photoshop after exporting:

  

  I tried both exporters and importers with several different computers to confirm that it was not something local to a machine. All the machines were Mac running the latest version of Mac OS x and the latest version of Photoshop CC 2014.

  What's a case where Photoshop cannot load complex LUT files? Or is there something wrong with how I export my LUTs? Here is a screenshot of my export settings:

  This is a known problem, but not a high priority for the ACE team.

  Workflow more real world uses LUTs around 32 to 64 samples on one side, not 256.

  I have no info on the issue of ProRes that I simply never use it.  There is a little 12 option Cineform which might work for you, however.

  You can create a "preset export settings. To do this:

  1. Choose an export format (e.g. Quicktime)
  2. Choose a preset (for example HD 1080i 25, H.264, AAC 48 kHz)
  3. Change the settings for video quality at 100
  4. Your preset will change to "Custom". You can give this new export preset to a new name (for example HD 1080i 25, H.264, AAC 48 kHz, 100 Qality)
  5. Next time, when you export a movie choose your new preset in the drop-down list.

  JPEG quality is never (or not as high as possible). Shoot raw and process in Camera Raw, where you have total control over all other treatment and noise reduction settings.

  JPEGs are self-treated behind doors closed, highly compressed and throw large amounts of data.

  I am generation PDFs from Indesgin. The InDesign document is a 24 page book for children, so the color work consits flat horizons that are made in Illustrator.

  PDF files are approximately 13 MB. But if I'm running their thinking the optimizer based on CSSTidy in Acrobat I can get up to 9 MB without quality.

  The only problem is that automatically generate these PDF files per day 100 automatically (it's a custom to produce via HP Smartstream book), so I can't open them every time in Acrobat format (unless there is a way to send it to Acrobat automatically after creation).

  Is there a way I can reproduce the 'effects' Acrobat in InDesign settings panel when you create the PDF file?

  My work is in EPS. I tried saving as a TIFF and before you import it into InDesign. Although TIFF files / HAVE individal are smaller that the EPS, the PDF output is the same size (sometimes more).

  The only thing that reduces the size of the file within InDesign is passing the compression of images in color at 300 DPI to 150 dpi. But I find that if I go lower than that, the print quality suffers.

  I was looking for conversion of PDF command line tools and eventually discovered this:

  For me, it's much too expensive (US$ 570), but maybe it's a viable solution for you. He watched folder workflows, this is why it may be convenient for your application. You can download a demo and even test online (PDF file is watermark).

Then, in Acrobat, I exported the images at the same time the original PDF and the optimized and compare in Photoshop. They were not the same, but the difference is practically imperceptible. I suppose that applying the downsampling to the test will result in even smaller PDF files, but I did not test this.

  In any case... I have no affiliation with these guys, and I have neither the need nor the money to buy this product. I only share these thoughts because they can point you to other ways to find a solution. The above-mentioned application seems to be very effective. If you can afford it, I think it deserves a try. If this isn't the case, you can search the Web for plugins or other tools that can be adapted to you needs and budget. Acrobat/InDesign approaches are not the only way to go.

  Click here and follow the instructions; If the computer originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 earlier, when you get to step 5, insert the original disc, restart with the C key or Option key, use disk utility to erase the internal drive and install a fresh OS. • How can I make a file one size more manageable?

  I'm looking to reduce a very heavy file.  Currently, it has a lot of information and is awkward to handle when attaching to email, open, print, etc..  Is there a simple way to record a version of this document with ONLY the necessary information to print an image of high quality?  He didn't need to be edited after the downsizing, him just look virtually the same after printing (8.5 x 11), as it would with all files intact.  Ideally, the resolution would allow to zoom in (maybe 300 to 400%?)  It's totally arbitrary if...) on-screen without pixellation great visible.  Basically, I think that I am looking for a way to create a quality 'photo' of the illustrator document without significantly change its appearance in the press (priority) or screen.  The requested format is PDF, but I think that it is flexible if an alternative is preferable.  I don't have a target file size, while hoping to find a mechanism that allows me to play with it until I have find the minimum of MB for maximum print quality.

  Don't know if it's useful, but part of the reason why it is so great is that I had to consolidate in a single file, so I had to integrate raster images and a few fonts (although I did later, just the outline) that had links while I was actively working on it.
