  Do you mean, your JS contains a string like

  var a = ' Hello everyone. ';

  and you want ID to automatically analyze the tags? It is not possible; at least, not the way you think. Analysis of referenced text happens on import ("offering") of a file - I don't think there's a way to trick the ID into thinking it's reading a file.

  You can, of course, simply save the string in a file and place - I've never tried, but I will ask ID will have no problem with that.

  An alternative is to write your string in a text block "like what" and the use of scripts to find the tags and replace them with the appropriate formatting.

  You can do this by changing the model of the document.

  Open the document, go to Edition-> model. A dialog box will launch that will have some element types on the left and its properties on the right.

  Select Heading (or Character name) stage left. On the right, go to the 'Text' tab and click on the "BOLD" checkbox.

  Press OK.

  I have:

  I get the error:

  Yes, a SQLite database will persist between battery pulls.  The database is registered either to internal MEM or removable media (not the device memory), depending on which is available on your device.

  In general, its not considered a best practice to remove your table as soon as it is empty and re - create it again when you want to add data.  This adds extra overhead fresh for the final, delete and insert first for a given table.  Instead, define and finalize your drawing before you create your table.  Once created, review the static schema.

  That being said, for development purposes, it may be easier to provide an easy way to drop your tables while you develop your schema.

• Multiple lines in a text box

  I have InDesign CS5, and since this is my first experience with this type of program, I'm a real newbie.

  I have a problem with making multiple lines in a text box.  Everything works fine when I type in my first line of text.  If I type "Enter/Return" to create a second line of text, the cursor disappears and automatically creates an icon to insert additional text into a new text box.  I am at a loss to know what to do.  I tried to adjust the leader and who does not either.

  Any suggestions?  I am a student and taking a class in this program and I am currently unable to finish an assignment because it does not work.  As a side note, it also happens in PhotoShop CS5.

  I'm sorry for the issue of such a beginner, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

  InDesign think you type 'Enter', the key on the numeric keypad, which is actually insert column break. Not the same thing as "Return","the key to the right of the 'L '.

  You are on a laptop? Try the Fn or Numlock?

  If it isn't happening, so can be confusing the BIOS of your machine and check again there is not an update of the bios. Again, you can bypass with Edit > keyboard shortcuts and will area of product: Menu Type and the removal of the Insert a Break character: column break.

  For scenario 1, you must write separate instructions UPDATE table2 and table3.

  To guard against someone else change one of these tables while you act so you can copy all relevant data in a global temporary table and update this global temporary table table3.

  ENGAGE only when two tables have been changed.

  You can write a procedure or an INSTEAD OF trigger to do all this.

  For scenario 2, you can reference many tables that you need when new table3.  It might be more efficient and simpler to use the MERGER rather than UPDATED.  For example:

• Placing text - when I try to Place text nothing happens

  I'm just placing the text in an InDesign document. When I do file-Place, the menu "place" flashes on the screen and then disappears and nothing happens, so I'm not able to place the text in InDesign. There is no problem with other Word files. It is only with some Word files that it is happening. It would be a problem with the word files that I have of this particular person? Maybe there are some parameters on the word files which are not accepted by InDesign "file-Place"? Or is it a setting on InDesign that causes menu 'place' of flash and disappear?

  If it's just with some Word files, try to open them in Word and do a backup with respect. RTF or. DOC or. DOCX. Having resaved the file, try again at the file > place the document.

• Problem with Sinhalese and Tamil text in InDesign

  I have a text sent to me to Sri Lanka in Microsoft word - Tamil (Arial Unicode MS) and the Sinhalese (Iskoola Pota). In the Microsoft Word document, they appear correctly.

  I need to transfer this text in Adobe InDesign. When I do a direct cut and paste, the characters for both languages are distorted with some characters jumping in front of the other (see image below).

  What I tried to do

  • I tried to cut and paste into Notepad and then insert it into the ID, but the same thing happens. I also made sure that I had selected the appropriate fonts described above in ID.
  • I also have Unicode installed in my computer and have installed the appropriate fonts - http://www.locallanguages.lk/
  • I made a PDF from Word and then placed in ID but I am working on a very public screen with hundreds of words in three languages (Sinhala, Tamil and English) which vary in sizes, so I need to be able to adjust the size, etc..  My absolute last resort would be to do this for each section of the screen, but it will be extremely laborious.

  My question is

  Is there a way to transfer Sinhalese and Tamil Microsoft Word text in InDesign and for the characters to stay as they are in Word?

  You better put the Word doc (using the file-> Place), but this probably isn't the issue here.

  What you need to activate is the universal composer. If you use a new version of InDesign (CS6 or CC) then you will find in the menu of the Justification of your paragraph style or the properties of the paragraph Panel dialog box or a few other places. If you use CS5.5 or an earlier version, you need a script or plugin to turn it on, because it was a feature 'hidden' at the time.

  HTML5 Shiv, as its name suggests, is strictly for the support of HTML5 tags in pre - IE9.  It will not help you with CSS level 3.

  This is probably a simple question, but I can't seem to find the answer. I tried variations on use to_number to_char and interpreters, all nothing will do.
  
  The real problem is that I have a table with a column of numbers in a database 8i (datatype = NUMBER (3)) and a column with the text (datatype = CHAR (3)), and I need to compare two values.
  
  This table has thousands of lines, but here's an example of the data in these two columns:

  TXT     CHR
  -----------
  001     1
  001     2
  002     2
  XXX     1
  003     3

  What I want to do is select the lines where the TXT and CHR VALUES do not match, then it would be (given my example):

  TXT     CHR
  -----------
  001     2
  XXX     1

  But, I'm having difficulties in comparing two columns, because they are not the same type of data.
  
  I tried to work on a simplified version of the problem in the 8i database both my 10g XE database:

  SELECT     *
  FROM     (
       SELECT     1.000               AS nbr
       ,     TO_CHAR(1.000,'000')     AS txt
       ,     CAST('001' AS CHAR(3))     AS chr
       FROM     dual

  But this also returns any line, and it isn't even the "XXX" in the text column to treat in this example.

  I realize that no one has mentioned that the pipette is actually an excellent tool to apply formats/styles to noncontiguous text in InDesign. You pick the style you want to apply, then click and drag over the text or you want to change the individual words.

  Of course your data object would need the appropriate field names and you will have no channels for all types. It must also implement equals and hashCode and ideally PortableObject.
