• How can link to external files - I insert hyperlinks to another project?

  Hi, I am trying to learn how to use RoboHelp HTML (I use RoboHelp10), and, unfortunately, I have to work on a project that someone else has started some time ago.

  The thing is, I have 2 separate projects, each with their own files, will that ultimately generated in 2 files separate chm and used in the same software (probably merged, but I don't know yet).

  A project needs to have hyperlinks across multiple pages htm to the subjects of the other project. I read the help provided by Adobe RoboHelp, but I don't know that I understand:

  Link to external files

  • Choose a location for link in the design editor.
  • Enter text.
  • Highlight the text and click Insert Hyperlink .
  • Click on the triangle button next to link to, and then select the file.
  • Browse to a file, open it and copy it to the folder of the project. -Is this file the individual .htm containing my topic or the .chm generated from all the files in the project htm? Where in the project folder devrais I copy it? (my project .chm file is generated in the.) SSL! folder).

  Generate the file in order to test the links to external topics.

  WebHelp projects

  The external file must be distributed in the WebHelp folder.

  Microsoft HTML Help projects

  The external file must be distributed with the CHM file. Note: the external CHM file must be in the same folder as the CHM project file.

  - I'm going to generate a Microsoft HTML Help project, so the second spec probably applies. Does this mean that external chm must be copied in the! SSL! folder where I generate my current chm and distributed together, so that hyperlinks will work?

  Sorry if my question may sound a little silly, I'm not very adept at this software. Thanks in advance.

  They will either be in the same folder or they will need to be registered by Windows. Otherwise, we have no idea that the other exists.

• How can I insert hyperlinks in text fields?

  Hello, I create documents pdf using Livecycle Designer for an organization, and recently I had a request for a document that includes expandable text fields.  The user also wants to put hyperlinks in these text fields.  I did the form and tried to put links in the text fields (using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5), but the form operation stops and I can't click on anything else (even if the cursor changes) or do something else that remove the information I entered and/or close the document.

  Does anyone know how to create a form in Livecycle Designer, which will allow the customer to insert hyperlinks in a text field that expands too?

  Is not possible.

  I tried to insert a hyperlink into a simple html document, but nothing happens after you fill out the form and click OK.

  I can type the hyperlink in the document, and that works very well as a substitute for the functionality of insertion.

  Insert also works for images, so am I missing something or is this not now functional for hyperlinks?

  So I have a text caption in which I want to highlight text and add a hyperlink (see photo below).  Problem is that when I click on the text of the legend the two boxes of hyperlink show active under properties although it is not a hyperlink it.  By clicking on ' Add or remove the "button of hyperlink on the character keys does nothing.  The only way to get these buttons allow to work is to exit completely the Captivate, then re - open a file.  Then only, it'll work.

  Also, does anyone else have this problem?

  I'm on Windows. When you have installed the patch, did you first delete the preferences and delete the Layouts folder in the shared documents? This is the first time this typeof problem is mentioned, blogged recently about hyperlinks a couple of times and did a lot of exploring. Really wonder what is happening to you. Is this also the case when you use a form as a text container?

  If you create a hyperlink you can use "#page ="NUMPAGE"(page put number witout mention, for example, http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf#page=2).

  It would open fw4. PDF in Internet Explorer to the number 2 of the page.

  In FrameMaker 10, I need to insert hypertext links that translate links within PDF output and also the links in RoboHelp. Is this possible? If so, how can I insert those to you? Usually it's either a link of file one chapter to another or from one place to another in the same file. Thank you!

  In RH8, I noticed that when I want to create a hyperlink to another topic, in the Hyperlink Properties window, the list of topics shows the file names, instead of view topic names (behavior RH7).
  
  I would like to change this back, because it makes more sense to look for a topic by name rather than by its file name...
  
  And when you use the small icon 'Find the topic', 'by title' has been checked by default in RH7, but I have this check manually every time in RH8, who becomes too irritating! I don't want to have to put underscores in my search text to match the names of files!

  So it would seem that RoboHelp 8 handles things a little differently than 7 don't.

  Here's how to change it so your hyperlink dialog box lists topic titles and not filenames.

  Click anywhere inside the pod project manager so it gets the focus and the pod title bar becomes orange.

  Now click on view > by topic title.

  Some time ago I asked what software I need to create a hypertext link to Web pages in my PDF software.  In accordance with the advice I received, I bought the X Adobe Standard and this is the first opportunity I've had to work with it.

  I'm trying to insert hyperlinks to my own pages in my document Publisher which I converted in PDF format with this new software.  I inserted the hyperlink in the editor of the document itself and that has not worked.  Then, in addition to letting the hyperlinks in the document of the editor, I followed the instructions to add a link in the PDF software, but when I create the .pdf small Hyperlink box appears, but I can't connect what either.

  I tried searching the support help and forums and can't seem to find what I'm looking for... can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

  It depends on the software. With AA X, you may need to update Acrobat version of MS OFFICE you use. If it's 2010, you certainly need to do the update.

  There are several ways to create PDF files. If you print to the Adobe PDF printer, the simplest method, no links or bookmarks are stored in the PDF file and you have to put with the tools in Acrobat. If you are MS options (save as PDF or publish to PDF), I'm not sure of what is created in the PDF file (that everything would depend on MS plugin options and is a matter of MS). The other option is PDF Maker. To make it work reliably, most likely you need to update Acrobat (help > updates). PDF Maker (the Acrobat in MS OFFICE menu item) will allow the creation of links and others of your MS OFFICE document. There may be some problems if you use a 64-bit operating system and which version of Windows. There are many problems of compatibility to examine, and knowing the versions of both the MS OFFICE, OS and Acrobat are all part of this decision. AAX, I think that updates solve most of the questions.

  In Acrobat, you can use the Connector tool to add links to the PDF file.

  In fact, both of these examples are links.   You can say, in various ways, by pointing your mouse on them.   For example I see

  1. My change of mouse pointer to the finger
  2. the link becomes stressed
  3. the URL is displayed at the bottom of the screen

  Even without all these immediate cues that I can verify that there was a link using click right button and looking at the menu items that offer, copy the shortcut for one.   Indeed, by making this test click when the pointer is just above or below the link, for example near her, but not a finger, would be instructive.   See the difference?

  Is this perhaps a protected Web? I use especially the hotkey CTRL-C as well, but sometimes that seems to not work. Try to use the context menu choose copy? Same thing for the dough.

• CP9 - hyperlinks within States

  I built an interaction by tabs (custom) that changes the State of an element to display a new paragraph, where each tab button is clicked.

  I then tried to add hyperlinks for paragraphs (in the States).

  The right click to 'Insert Hyperlink' is not available because it is when you apply a text element that is not a "State".
