  IM new to BBing and try to include the management of e-mail on my BB tour.  Can help you with these questions?

  for what is saved messages, if you save it, it is saved in a folder of messages backed up, which is hidden by default and you can display the icon or press the menu and view saved the message. not very convenient if its still in your Inbox. But if you save it, and then delete. You can then go to the menu and view saved messages and you will see now all e-mails backed up, even if you have removed from the Inbox... unless you remove then to save.

  Hola again.  question - on my previous devices, I've always had the option "delete on the server?" or not, when I delete an email from my camera.  I understand that this is the best of all worlds "synergy - always sync to the powerful cloud", so I guess this question is ludicrious, but is it possible to do with this device?  I still don't want 50 emails on my device, so I would like to delete the files/answer/manage then when I got back to my office.  so far, one or two hours of experience with pre shows it is not possible - delete = delete, period.

  g0rey1, are you sure you overrode trend of PRE otherwise in IMAP with the intention to set up the POP3?  My put forward my POP3 up as IMAP a couple of times before as I figure out how to jump out of their process of intuitive configuration and configure it manually. Like POP3, my menu starts like yours and then changes. Here is mine:

  name and first name

  new message

  See the notification

  play a sound

  vibrate (shows, if his game is off)

  signature

  reply address

  Sync

  Synchronize deleted messages (stop/start)

  3 days

  What Type of mail at the top of the next screen. Mine says pop.  I bet that yours says IMAP. Touch this area and change, or it it will not let you do this, delete the account, add new as pop.

  I help an old friend of 83 who lives two States away. She contacted me about two problems with the e-mail on his iPhone 3 g (model A1303). She has an e-mail account with Comcast, and FWIW, the Comcast account is his only email.

  The first problem was that she could receive but not send email with his phone. The second problem involved his attempt to move from POP3 to IMAP. The ISP had recently sent him a message encouraging their customers to move from POP3 to IMAP.

  We made the switch to IMAP with her other mobile device (a Kindle Fire first edition), but she has not had any luck on his iPhone. In his attempt, she has deleted inadvertently his iPhone Comcast e-mail account. She took the phone to his local AT & T store, where a technician put it nicely back. Now she can receive and send messages on the phone, but IMAP remains elusive. She asked the guy from AT & T on IMAP, and he told her that her phone is too old.

  Really...?

  All iPhones of any age can handle IMAP, iCloud is actually a system iCloud himself.

  Download a real email client (application) to connect your email on your local computer.  In this way, you can manage all the emails in one application and even keep local e-mail backups if you want.

  I understand your point.  I think I'd in memory when I responded to your original post,

  Go back and looking at some code:

  You can get a reference to the message using MessageEvent.getMessage ().

  You can then re-evaluate the flags:

  Boolean isOpened = ((mssgFlags & Message.Flag.OPENED) == Message.Flag.OPENED);

  Then you can say 'if the update and isOpened"to determine if the message was opened.

  It seems to work for us.

• Suddenly I can't receive emails from a particular address on one of the three e-mail accounts that I have on Thunderbird.

  These emails come from a non-response address, and I get quite a number on a daily basis, so I was wondering if Thunderbird has a sort of virus protection that prevents me to receive. They won't in the junk mail folders or spam folders. I checked with HER on the Web site that sends these emails, and they said that everything was going well at their end. It shows emails through. However, I could not receive even their test sent from their account message no answer. BUT when they sent from another account, it came through fine.   Finally, I tried bypassing Thunderbird by accessing my three email accounts from the web. Still not received the mails no reply. Would it be to say that Firefox is also involved?

  It is between the sender and your Inbox. That's all you can say. Your provider should be able to track your account and see if the message comes from their server.

  Thunderbird is a software email client. It runs on your computer and helps you manage your e-mail. It can not download messages that do not in your Inbox on your server vendors.
