• How do I address memory more with my version of Adobe Illustrator CC (64 bit)?

  I use the 64-bit version of Adobe Illustrator CC. My PC has 24 GB of RAM and zero drive is set to local who has an another 800 GB of available space.

  When I open Adobe Illustrator and have at the same time my task manager open it said that Illustrator uses ~ 110 MB of memory.

  Can I open a pdf document (file size: 20 MB) in Illustrator and Illustrator uses then 2.2 GB of memory.

  Then try to open another document in the same file size... Error message: Out of Memory!

  Can you explain why this happens? Where is the problem? I really need to work with these documents, why does Illustrator address all memory available?

  (while doing this, there is no other major programs running; and the available physical memory is always 16 GB, that's what says the Task Manager)

  Ha ha... I solved the problem myself...

  I was stupid enough to open the 32-bit version of Illustrator. Although I thought that I open the 64-bit.

  So if this happens to you... Make sure that the 64 bit version is open. It will deal with then all of your memory!

  I work under windows xp using Adobe Illustrator CS5, and the problem is that when I have a some objects in an illustration of the Group and save this picture as a file * .ai, then send it to a customer who uses the MAC, the groups are getting involved. The customer has even sent me a screen captures, and the groups are REALLY involved.

  Some items that I initially gathered are not in the same group any more, some objects of a certain group who somehow became part of another group.

  I build my images on a single layer with multiple sublayers.

  Can the building illustrations with every single group on a separate layer to fix this? Am I missing something? This is the first time I encounter this kind of problem. Help, please.
