• Navigation/connection

  I'm a newbie using version 5.0 under Windows.  I must be missing something very obvious on the navigation.

  I have 3 slides I want the user to be able to go at any time during my training and then pop back to whence they came (a glossary, a list of reference document and a slide of navigation aid). So, I put 3 buttons on each slide (but those) that go to each of these pages. Then I put a 'back to the last slide' button on each of these 3 slides so that when they are done with that they can continue where they left off.  Everything works well. The problem is that I have included the navigation standard for play/pause, so if the user accesses one of these special pages, and then select the play button instead of the button I created, training will continue the user to the next in the sequence slide only to not whence they came.   Don't I have control over that?

  Either by the way, I've hidden these 3 slides after the first screen startup, but before the rest of the content so that I can easily give up these 3 buttons (those using the "rest of project" click boxes) so I don't have to worry about users sequentially hit more than one of those, thus making the unnecessary ' back' button.

  I haven't used before connection, but it doesn't have the option 'go to last slide visit', so I thought it was a bust.  I tried a bunch of things and other problems, but I stop talking now (; ^) because I guess a solution is obvious for the experts here!

  Combination of custom navigation buttons and the PlayBar is not always a good idea. In the case where you want to just hide the reading about these "special blades' bar, this easily by manipulating the variable cpCmndShowPlaybar of system. But be aware that if hide you the PlayBar, you in turn it visible on all other slides because the user can return to one of the slides with jump to the last slide. So, if you want to use this approach:

  • to the special blades, in the properties of the slide, the accordion of the Action Panel, sign for choose
    Assign the cpCmndShowPlaybar with 0
  • for all other slides that the user can return to the same place in the Slide Properties Panel:
    Assign the cpCmndShowPlaybar with 1

  
  

  The PlayBar is just acting like the control panel of the video recorder: next to go to the next slide slide, not just follow the branching you set up.

  FYI tips:

  1. You cannot set the time where an interactive object (button, click box, text entry box) to display for the rest of the project, you need an instance with a unique name on each slide where you need
  2. There is an interesting widget included with CP5.0: GoToSlide that might be useful for you. You can specify the 3 special blades in it (label, please) and since this is a static widget, you can even add it to a master that you then apply to all slides slide where you want this feature of navigation; It will save you a lot of time because you don't need to add 3 buttons on each slide
  3. If you want 3 buttons, there is another static widget buttons in CP5.0 that allows to navigate as well. because it is static, yet once you add it to a master slide; I blogged about this widget: using the button widget. Beware if you use CP5.5 something has changed, let me know in this case.

  in a first time I´d first I know that many discussions of the forum exists on this topic yet, but its more your experiences or opninions what will I´m to ask...

  for my work I have to maintain a construction of Web site someone else, which is built in as2 and consists of 99% of the time.

  the structure is more or less what follows,

  "layer" 2 = all time edit swf

  "layer" 1 = main menu (all buttons)

  "layer" 0 = BG base with 2 simple buttons (nothing special, almost empty)

  so by clicking on the buttons "Layer1" different swf´s are laoded (and removed of course) on the layer 2

  I have the following problem...

  the menu layer 1 is a total mess and more or less impossibe for me to work with, so I'll have to rewrite...

  Although I ve never really got it to as2.

  all these weird pieces of code anywhere in your document, I do not.

  so I thought lets rewrite this menu in as3

  but after reading stuff on the web, I understand that the combination of different versions of actionscript in one document is not without risk...

  It would work to rewrite the layer 0 and layer 1 in as3 and let all SWFs in layer 2 as they are (written in as2)

  I say if you need AS3 file to control some aspects of the AS2 file (or vice versa), you need to watch by using the LocalConnection communication.  This type of communication could involve the manipulation of variables or the execution of functions between different file types.  If AS2 files play as autonomous parts, and the side AS3 just charge and discharge them, then you will should not use LocalConnection.

  You can use the event to wait for it. Do not use a wait within a structure of the event function.

• Manipulation of a variable javascript in Flash

  The following javascript bit writes and retrieves a cookie that counts visits of users to the page. Then, using swfobject, it incorporates main_banner.swf and passes the value of the cookie 'visit' to it via flashvars. The problem is in the ActionScript below. the vallue is exceeded (that's for sure, because the .swf appears rather than the alternative content) - but the .swf is stuck on the first frame rather than the cookie of processing and sending the user to the appropriate image tag. If anyone has any suggestions on how to write the code of reception, I would certainly appreciate it.

  The problem described in this article was due to a blobToString method unheeded at the time. This problem has since been apparently corrected. I just tested the following successfully on my PlayBook example.

  We produce two distinct versions of a webhelp. The text is almost exactly the same, but the product has a different name in each version.   What version of RoboHelp do you use?

  I use the 2015 Release version. It used to be version 11.

  Of course, you want to replace the text InsertVariableNameHere with the actual name of your variable.

  It can fail miserably because the process of generation of RoboHelp doesn't know how to cope. But in fact, it might work! You won't know until you try.

  And even if it fails, I may be able to offer another approach that you will overcome the problem.

• Export SVG - variable not selected

  Hello

  I try to keep variables when you work in Illustrator as a SVG export. This is so that the text SVG content can be manipulated outside and then brought back to Amnesty International and the variable data update exported as XML.

  I'm scripting the SVG export. First, I created a variable for each piece of text and then export the doc. With property preserveeditability set to false (because it must be for the graphics be handled externally), variables seem to lose their link to object when the re-opening the SVG in artificial intelligence. Inspect the document SVG itself, the variables are indeed still there and remain bound by the relevant XML ID, but when the document is opened, the variables no longer seem to be linked to anything.

  Attempts to manually assign a variable once the SVG was created does not work either. It works fine if the file is always in the format I.

  Does anyone know if this is a bug, or intended behavior? If the latter is at - it workaround to keep variables related to the SVG elements, even when the editable character is not preserved?

  You probably want to put this in the forum script.

  In my opinion, they have just enough resources to make the feature so robust that it preserves the variable features once the file is saved as SVG without editability of kept.

  Not sure what is your goal for this export method, but if you want the graphics to be handled outside while keeping the art related to variables, which does not at the same time as you say, perhaps a workaround might be illustrations not compatible variable SVG export and using another script to open after having been transformed on the outside to match and to visually change the work of the master document HAVE which variables.

  We have historical records dating back decades and decades and decades (1900). Some of the most recent data were recorded in the worksheets. With some manipulation of data, it was possible to reorganize the data in its forms of entry in a flat file. These data were then imported into Access database, then using SQL Developer I made a data base for each access database connection and used copy for Oracle... tool to create a table in my flat file schema. In test data that I have right now that I copied the 5 access to Oracle databases and the results are five paintings called plot_84, plot_151 etc. I created a database that contains four main tables where the data from the flat files must be inserted, to standardize the it (I think the sentence is).

  with your current model, you need to write once for each table or write dynamic SQL regardless of the bulk of collect. adding most collect simply means you can do all the inserts in a single step and generally average performance benefits (see docco to COLLECT in BULK and for ALL).

  However, it is not really solve your problem.

  can I suggest an ETL step where you move all of the data in a table, then cross and run this function on all resulting?
