• Can I use a SATA drive in the virtual host as a SCSI disk in virtual machine?

  I'm under (64-bit) 2008 R2 RC as host and VMware Workstation 6.5.2. I installed a linux VM, the distribution doesn't really matter, but now I use Debian 5.01 AMT64. I am trying to use SATA drives to the host as drive virtual in the VM, but not successful. Here's what I did.

  with 2 k 3, you won't have these problems.

  VMware affect physical as IDE disks if the host sees as IDE. He attributes as SCSI host sees the SATA or SCSI drives.

  I placed the cross-domain policy file in server folder script URLS are different, but it does not solve my problem.

• ESXI 5 and I created a virtual server, now I want to install the OS on the host, but cannot get the virtual host to recognize the CD/DVD where I have the installation disc.

  I have tried the option "edit" for the VM., changed devices, no luck, tried the bios option to create the primary boot device CD, no luck.

  any ideas?

  I think I have this problem myself, had to return to editing, CD/DVD and check the box that had 'host' not the 'customer '.

• Card SCSI not listed is not in the virtual host

  I have a server to Windows Small Business SERVER 2003 installation and trying to find a way to get a backup tape drive.  I have a PERC 3 card, which is recognized in the bios ok.  However on the SBS, it does not appear.  I installed the VMWare tools.  I have a motherboard ASUS P5GC - MX 1333 Intel duo cpu E2200, 4 GB of memory.  I also can't the floppy drive to work, or USB devices to work, but file sharing, print sharing, access to the Exchange 2003 RWW and RDP server all work very well.

  Are there tips for this, or am I stuck with the backup using NAS or iSCSI?

  Change the setting in the Windows prompt. Add devices and select the SCSI devices. If the tape drive appears in the list of available devices, you can add it.

• Unable to connect to the virtual machine to the external host

  I'm having a problem getting other machines on my network connection

  my virtual host to 2003. I can map it to a network drive on my Vista Host which has

  Server 2003 as a guest on the 2003 server, however my laptop cannot. I can ping

  from the virtual host on my laptop and my laptop computer can ping the 2003 virtual

  Server. I have configured DHCP on the Server 2003 VM and I see the laptop to obtain an IP address. So why does DHCP work but mapping of what a network drive does not work?

  I am running VMware server 2.0.1 on a Vista/32-bit host, the virtual

  machine is a windows 2003 32-bit server. I installed VMtools. Someone at - it

• Setting up a virtual host Apache for Sites of the Complutense University of MADRID

  As the subject says: I am trying to configure virtual hosts with apache for the Sites of the Complutense University of MADRID. Now, we are trying to set up for each site of the Complutense University of MADRID, we have an ip address. Done on the browser when I see that someone typed in "http://www.myfirstsite.com" (through the magic of dns that they get routed to my server). Once they are at the level of the Apache Server I want to configure virtual hosts, so I can redirect the user to the appropriate site residing in the Complutense University of MADRID.

But what I want Setup of Apache, is that when someone types in "http://www.myfirstsite.com" they see site whatever, I want them to see in the Complutense University of MADRID. But mann I just don't know what would be the document root or how could I go to get users to SEE what I want them to see. Can someone help me with this please? Thanks in advance.

  You should be able to stick with the default apache configuration where he will answer for any host name and create virtual servers for each instance with the root of the document appropriate for this instance of CS. Then you should be able to use rewrite rules to direct users to the virtual host appropriate depending on what URL they access the server with. • Problems installing CFB when using virtual hosts

  I am new to SFBC and fight to get configured to work with virtual hosts on my local development server.

  Here is the configuration;

  • Windows XP
  • Apache 2.2 (using virtual hosts)
  • CF 11
  • RDS enabled
  • CF Builder 3

  I can get the BFC works with RDS, debugging, etc. When I turn off the virtual hosts. However, whenever I try to use it with virtual hosts can't RDS and debugging to work.

  Hi all, need your help with this one.

  I deleted two snapshots and now I can not start the virtual machine.

  Get the following error:

  Is there a chance to run ls-lisa from the command line (SSH) in the virtual machine folder and provide the output!

  I ask because I'm a little worried about the timestamp of the hard (May 2011). Depending on the size of the files in the snapshot, it seems that the second virtual disk is not really used by the guest operating system and we could come back manually (by editing the .vmx file) on the resized basic disk (100 GB compared to 75 GB for snapshots) without losing important data!

  If you want to revert manually,

  • delete the virtual machine of the inventory
  • backup and then edit the .vmx file (replace "WEBPDMAPPD_1 - 000003.vmdk" with "WEBPDMAPPD_1.vmdk")
  • Move 3 snapshots in a directory temporary sub
  • Add the virtual machine to inventory
  • create a new snapshot to prevent the current hard files to be modified
  • Turn on the virtual machine

  If everything works as expected, you can delete the snapshot files moved and remove the snapshot created in the Snapshot Manager again.

  Since soa suite managed server is configured with the virtual host name, the wsdl file is accessible only by using their virtual hostnames (SOAHOST1VHN1 & SOAHOST2VHN1) and load balancer url. Access WSDL using the physical hostname soahost1 would result in "Page not found" error. Why Jdeveloper isn't able to wire bpel with webservice component.

  FMS3 instaled on my Linux box, but strange things happen with the virtual host configuration:
  
  1. Add the directory of the virtual host to/conf/_defaultRoot_ (just make a copy of _defaultVHost_). It contains all the files - application.xml and Vhost.xml with default settings
  2. restart the server
  
  When I sign in to the administration console, new virtual server appears in the list, but it is impossible to connect to it, or simply restart.
  The permissions are ok.

• No network connection to the virtual computer after migration manually to the new host

  We have added six new hosts to our environment, and I was tasked to test connections of VIRTUAL LAN on each of them before we move VM production of their.  This is probably a simple problem, but I am new to VMWare and need help.  I already talked to our network guys, and he assures me that the physical switches are setup and working properly.  We work a vDS.

  I'm testing 14 VLANs on six new hosts.  All but one are constantly working.  (They all work on the hosts of origin which were in force before.)  I have a static IP configuration on my test VM and MAC is set to automatic.  I checked the MAC does not change when you migrate to other hosts and the VLAN correct is listed in the settings the VM network (it is not empty).  Him VLAN will work on three of the six hosts, but not all at the same time.  The strange thing is that guests at work are constantly changing.  For example, this morning hosts11, 12 and 14 may work, but this afternoon, that could change at hosts12, 14 and 16.  I don't understand why they would change on their own.
