Map of Agere Mini PCI Wi - Fi without driver

I mounted now the PCI card to agere (purchased at Toshiba) including the son according to the book of Toshiba that came with it. The LED on the front will light red when I open the switch on the right side (or press Fn F8), Device Manager shows as network Toshiba card card. There is no CD with the card.
When I installed a Belkin PC card I had a drive with him and I have a utility that I can see to set different parameters, or see the strength of the signal etc, but nothing with this card. I tried to uninstall the Belkin and the withdrawal of the PCI card and driver / and then replacing the card. The pilot then reappears in the System Device Manager. Where should I go from there to get your hands on drivers or software as with the Belkin. ? Toshiba says it's a dealer option and all you get is the card. The book only explains how to insert the card, including the son and thanks (in approximately 12 languages) of the customer for the purchase of their product.

Thank you for reading this and hope for a response.

Russell in desperation.

Hi Russell

Is correctly recognized and installed wireless network card or is it yellow question mark in Device Manager?

What card did you buy exactly (b, bg, part number)?

    Hi all

I recently installed the correct map of Toshiba Mini-PCI (drivers Agere) on my Satellite. Drivers installed end (v. 7.62.0.390), but the card refuses to find my access point. Config-Free utility said: No WLAN connection. I checked the cables of more than two times :-), know what configured (IP, WEP etc..) ... After checking the radiation that WIN XP must set up WLAN, it worked not either (MSKB 871122).
Is this a known issue with everyone, or are there any other config tools compatible to the Mini-PCI?

  • Disconnected radio on map Wifi mini-PCI in Satellite Pro A40.

I installed a card Atheros Wifi Mini-PCI (marked Toshiba, model AR5004G) in my Satellite Pro A40. Pilots of the section of downloads on the A40 Toshiba support site installed fine, and everything seemed to work. But the card could not find my wifi network at home (I rigged the antennas to test, before taking the trouble to install in laptop).

Atheros client reported that the radio has been turned off and gave the solution like him allowing the use of the customer. But the enable and disable options are grayed out outside in the client. I took a peek in the bios of the A40 (latest version 1.50) and there is no option to turn on the radio. The FN + F8 key on the keyboard (which has a small icon of wifi on him) has also not made any difference.

To check that it wasn't the card, I have two-way autour cards from my other laptop. The new PCI card has worked well in the Acer while the former, one of the Acer is also off in Satellite Pro.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get the Sat Pro to switch on the map?

    Hello

I checked the specifications Satellite Pro A40 and it seems that the WLan functionality is not available on this laptop.
Is - this laptop has a WLan switch on/off switch on the side of the laptop?

If this isn't the case, you cannot activate the antenna and so you cannot receive any signal!
It seems that you must use an external USB WiFi key.

    Hello Wally

As far as I know there are two connectors that are marked with the HAND and to THE.
In this case, please connect the white cable to the HAND and the black cable to the auxiliary voltage
Additionally, you have the drivers and Utilities CD Utility & Tools, or you can download it on the Toshiba site. To my knowledge, the PA3300U-1MPC is an Atheros WiFi card.
Therefore, you need Atheros AR5001X Mini PCI Wireless Network Adapter V2.1.2.16 and Atheros Client Utility V2.1.2.16

    Hello

I have a Satellite P10 722. It seems to be ready wireless (it has an LED to show the WLAN activity). I would use an internal Mini-PCI card in it. Ideally, it would be a b/g card.

Anyone know what model/part number Mini-PCI card will work with this laptop.
She is not in the list of compatibility of the any of the maps on this page (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/options_and_accessories_search.jsp?z=16&service=UK & selOptionCategory = 4696)

    Thanks for your help,
    Shane

    Hello Shane

Sorry, but this kind of information can give you just the authorized service partner. I don't know if the P10 722 is ready WLAN but you can check only. In the lower corner of the unit, you will find WiFi coverage. Remove it carefully and check if there are two antenna WLAN (black and white) cables. If so, the device is definitely ready WLAN.

Contact the Service partner and ask them for you to adapt to your model of laptop. As far as I know, the consultation is free.

Just for info. One of my friends has P10 with WLAN (802 11b Agere) card.

    Concerning

    Hi guys,.

THX starbucks for the post, but I must correct you:

As the wireless card in the mini-pci card slot is the only one, there is NO onboard wireless card. So it can't be anything to be disabled except the pci socket.
And regarding the problem: perhaps the card is not compatible with this machine. I suggest to buy a card based on the atheros chipset because they are known to work VERY well (in fact they work) in almost all brands without bigger problems and they do in computers laptop toshiba.

If the card was not recognized then another card must be installed-> atheros and not INTEL chipset

  • The BIOS of my dv2610us stop me from changing my mini-pci card?

is there a white list in my bios that would prevent me from changing the Broadcom BCM4311 for a mini-PCI with my choice?

I have read several posts on the forum who said their model of HP had limitations in the BIOS but they were all pretty old, and I hope that HP has changed their policy on this.  I can understand the blocking for overclocking settings, but this seems a little extreme.

I contacted the support of discussion about this today, but I had the strong feeling that he did not know what in the world I was talking (but he offered to sell me the same wireless card that I told him that I wanted to replace...)

    I edited my name on...

dirtsandwich: The dv2610us has a 'white list' on the bios that blocks some install mini-pci cards?
[An agent will be with you shortly.]
[You are now chatting with Shane].
    Shane: Hello dirtsandwich.
    dirtsandwich: Hi Shane.
Shane: Welcome to HP Total Care for laptop, my name is Shane. Please give me a minute while I quickly look at the description of the problem.
    dirtsandwich: no problem
Shane: dirtsandwich, could elaborate you on this issue, so that I can help you better?
    dirtsandwich: sure no problem.
    Shane: Thank you.
dirtsandwich: I tried to buy a new mini-pci card to replace the broadcom wireless card that came with my dv2610us. I read on some sites that have a white list on the BIOS that allows specific models of wireless cards to be installed in some models. If the model is not on the white list, then you can not install it.
Shane: Of course, I understand and regret the inconvenience. And I got my best efforts to solve the problem in a timely.
Shane: To help you in a better way, may I know the product and serial number of the laptop that is facing this problem?
dirtsandwich: I have the dv2610us. SN is XXXXX
    dirtsandwich: product is XXXXXXX
Shane: Thank you for providing us the information.
Shane: dirtsandwich, may I know you bought the new wirless card from outside the HP device?
    dirtsandwich: not yet
Shane: Well, you want to buy. Fix?
dirtsandwich: no, I want to know if the BIOS has a whitelist which will prohibit some installed wireless cards.
    Shane: Alright.
Shane: dirtsandwich, I understand your request.

    Shane: * you
dirtsandwich: Well... is not available. I just want to know if HP has put one in the BIOS
Shane: Well, there's no white list will be available in the BIOs.
dirtsandwich: so if I buy a third mini-pci card it should install without problem?
Shane: Only we have some parameters like sound, VGA etc, you can disable or enable.
Shane: Is it an external wireless card, you can insert it via USB?
    dirtsandwich: no, it's a mini-pci pci-e card.

Shane: dirtsandwich, I checked in my resources, and I subscribe to tell you that you can connect the Mini-PCI Wireless card in your laptop.
Shane: And you can buy this from HP.

dirtsandwich: ok. It's a Broadcom, which is what I am wanting to replace.
    Shane: Yes.
dirtsandwich: Does that mean that it is the only card that offers HP?
Shane: dirtsandwich, your laptop comes with this wireless card and HP doesnot recommends change internal maps.
    Shane: Yes.
dirtsandwich: Well it's maybe, but the broadcom chipset does not support some features that I use, and I don't want to carry a USB adapter more.

  • Startup gets "Network cable unplugged" on mini-PCI Wireless card

I recently installed a Netgear DG834GT wireless router and now have intermittent problems connecting my Tecra 9100. If the 9100 has been off for awhile (like overnight), when I restart I get always "Network cable unplugged" for the wireless connection. Reboot several times (anything from 3 upwards) I finally get connected to the router and everything then works fine for hours. Even a quick restart at this point (that is, once that the wireless adapter is connected) does not cause a problem, but as soon as I leave the stop of the machine during a time he fails again on restart.

There are no errors in the event log.

I am using wireless mini-PCI cards and have already updated to the latest version of the driver.

Any ideas gratefully received, for now every morning is a 20 to 30 minutes of rebooting frustration trying to get my connection work.

    (Running Win2K professional)

    Hello

As far as I know, the unplugged network cable message just for LAN (Local Area connection-LAN) and not wireless.

If you want to check this map to disable LAN in Device Manager. After starting the laptop turn on the wireless card, check the status using the FN + F8 key combination. Wi - Fi is activated after a short time, you should be able to use your wireless network.

You can enable the option Show icon in notification area when connected. You can find it in the properties of wireless under the general tab.

  • ? PRO/Wireless mini PCI card will switch

This question has been posted before, but I have not found a solution

I have installed a PRO mini-PCI card / Wireless 2915ABG in my A30. It is recognized as a card very well, but I can't turn it on. Not with the switch and or the software.

    Any tips?

    Hi rothirgo,

As far as I know Satellite A30 series is built with Atheros and Agere wireless card. This means that Toshiba has been test machines with just these two cards and do not support another manufacturer of the WL card for this machine. If you have the Intel card and good driver, it should work too.

Is in the device, a problem Manager? When your card has been properly installed, go to control panel > network connections. If there is Wireless Network Connection showed that it should be enabled.

If you do this, you can now search for available networks in the wireless network connection properties.

Just one last question. You have wireless on / off switch on the left side of your laptop? What Wireless Card on FN + F8 check if there is an answer.

Please let me know what you have done and are there any error messages.

I read the previous posts about the contacts of masking/insulation on the card wifi on this and other forums, so I'm ready for this problem when I get there.

I hope you can help, impatience of someone soon!

    Hello

The wireless network card is an option on this unit. It is possible to switch this unit with the WLan card. The WiFi antenna should already be included in the specifications.
The WLan pci slot, you will find at the bottom of the unit.
It s close to the slot of the modem.
However, I would recommend consultation with the user manual. There you should find more details.

  • Tecra 9100 - W-LAN-Mini-PCI-card upgrade

    Hello everyone,

    I ve got a with the W-LAN-onboard Tecra 9100 working doesn´t.
    Instead of repairing the old W - Lan Mini-PCI-card I want to move to a new standard (802. 11 b / g with 108 Mbit/s max) Mini-PCI card.

I prefer the mini Notebook-WLAN-Gigabyte GN-WIAG02 PCI adapter.

Is it possible to chance the card built into the Gigabyte card?

    Hello

It s nice that you want to upgrade your wireless mini-pci network card. But I suggest you rather a card with an Atheros chipset. The best choice is perhaps a card with a Chipset of Atheros 5005GS since I upgraded my Tecra 9100 with this card and it works like charm. (and not so expensive as other s cards)

To swap the card, you must remove the plastic cover of the keyboard and unscrew the two screws in order to release the keyboard.
After removing the keyboard, you will find an aluminum side cover left which is set with a special torx screws. The best would be to get these torx screwdriver to loosen this bolt and remove the cover.
After removal, you will see the map with the cables that lead to the antenna. (One white and one black) Be very CAREFUL when remove the Connector cables, because if damage you one of the cable connectors there is no return since the cables are cables "Mini-coax" and cannot be "connected."

I warn you, just do it if you're really sure and if you know what you're doing, because I won't take any responsibility if damage you something on your machine. Otherwise, I wish good luck and would appreciate some comments on your success.

    See you soon

  • Satellite A20-S103 WiFi mini PCI card need help

    Hello

I own a Toshiba A20-S103. When I bought the camera there not of wireless. I have the switch but wireless. I would like to install it but I don't like solutions card mainly because of the portruding antennas and special care, I imagine that you must have for such a solution (do not break the card because of the carelesness). Now, I opened my laptop and I have the empty mini PCI slot and the antenna cables. I found several mini PCI card on the Toshiba site in the communication options and accessories section. The problem I have now is that although I found two mini PCI card 802.11a/b/g, which seems to be compatible with my model, I can't decide which is the best because the information provided for each of them are the same. The only thing that seems to be different is the reference number (PA3318U-2MPC and PA3298U-1MPC). Also, there is a two 802. 11 b / g cards compatible with my model but even once, I can't make my decision due to the fact that the information provided for these cards is not helping to distinguish between them. Looking in the manual, I found that my model suports only 802. 11a / b (or at least what they say). And there's a mini PCI 802.11 g on the Toshiba site which is not compatible with my model. If it makes me wonder if I can get a card 802.11 g. I would really like it for the higher speeds that it will support. I don't want to pay more money to use a PCI 802.11a/b/g only to discover that I can just conect to 11 Mbps and not 54 or so... Also, I found on the internet of the 802.11 cards g that promise speeds greater than 54 Mbps. Toshiba provides such a solution? If not, are there maps 802.11 g third-party compatible with my model? I hope that there is someone out there who can help me sort this mess.

    Hi Stefan

It is not easy to give you a proper answer. In my opinion, it should work, but it is also important to install a suitable driver for the wireless card. I'm sure that it is possible to install the driver for another model mobile using the same wireless card. It will be perhaps better to contact the Service partner and ask them because they have such information and more experience with this sort of thing.

    Hello

You can change the settings in the properties of the wireless network.
In the wireless tab, you can choose the network and press properties.
There, it should be possible to set the wireless network key.

In my opinion, if the card wireless doesn t support the WPA if you need other maps.
