Master page: Single inherit correct double room

Hello

I have a few questions about the legacy of the page master.

The installation program:

I have a master page named: A-text. He is a master page and 2 pages. It contains columns from top to bottom that must contain the text. It also has a footer. The footer has text fields that are placed differently on the left and the right page. The text on the left and right page fields also contains different text.

Now I have a second called template: has headed. He is a master page with 1 page, and it is based on the A-text master. It contains a header at the top of the page. Then there are some columns with text, and basically, it's a footer (inherited from the A-text master).

My problem:

I want to add the master's head to the left or to the right of a double page and have the good footer appear. But now I have the left foot, even if I add the master's head for a right of a double page. It's probably because when I look at the master's head, he has only the left footer.

Is there an elegant way to solve my problem without having to create multiple master pages for different cases (header left, the text to be right - text on the left, the header right - header on left, heading right, text on text from left to right).

Your help is very appreciated!

Thank you.

Also do a two-page master. When make you a master to a page it uses only one side of the parent from spreading. There is no problem of assignment of a two-page master, it will swap sides as required.

  • Master page is displayed correctly on some but not all

I had to happen to a few docs lately. I create the doc... and I add an image to a master page. Then, I attribute the master page to some pages. On some, it is fine. But on one or two, the picture does not appear. It shows the right master page. I can entrust other masters, and they are displayed correctly.  This is something I do regularly, and it is a new issue for me. I can manually place the image on the page, but ask yourself why this is happening?

    Thank you.

OK, sorry, I see that b is the one that should have the background image. This could be a side effect of having a full-spread image (but that shouldn't be a problem in theory). It is often safer than things to stop at the spine. Céline this you in your master by selecting the image, copy, paste in place, and then crop the first folio so the left edge is exactly on the vertebral column and the bottom copy so the right edge is exactly on the spine (and make sure that you check the numbers rather than relying on the alignment). Make sure that you move or copy - just grip resizing and hover over the edge of the image or use the width field in the control panel with all appropriate reference points.

  • Master page CSS not correctly applied to other pages

    Hello world

I'm relatively new to Adobe Muse but I like to think I have a right understanding after completing a Lynda.com courses on the program. However, I am having trouble with a Web site, that I am currently in train. I have a master page that contains the header and footer elements / styling I want to apply to my other pages.

It would appear that the elements and style of my master page seem to work well on my Home Page, but on all other pages, even if the elements are there, it would seem that no style has been applied. The site is the catalyst for the company and can be found at paidtotrade.businesscatalyst.com. You will be able to see the issue that I have on there when the comparison of the homepage to other pages.

I hope there, can someone help me, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just found the temporary fix.  Go to the properties of your site and disable the change in the browser.  Until the bug is corrected that works.

  • Master Pages: single Image each chapter?

In a book, I would use the same Master Pages in each chapter, with one exception: I wish that the "First" Master Page in a chapter to contain its own art background, different from that of the other chapters. Each photo on the first page of a chapter will be indicative of the following chapter. Everything else on the Master Pages will remain the same through chapters.

At the same time, I would like to be able to import Master Pages in all chapters. But, if I do unique master pages in each chapter, I crush you uniqueness of each chapter when I do a massive importation.

Ideally, I could indicate an import by reference to the first Master Page, but the reference would contain a variable specific chapter that would point to the picture appropriate for this chapter. Something like Import < titrechapitre > _image.jpg.

But I suspect that I ask the impossible here. Does anyone know of a way to do this in FrameMaker? Otherwise, I could probably accomplish this with FrameScript, but if possible, I prefer the solution to stand on its own in the FM.

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.

    Ken

The piece of art can be without anchorage on the Master Page itself. Don't forget to send it backward is under the text block.

Our section start pages, for example, have the company logo demonstrably in the upper left corner of the text block, with the evasive 6.0 pt by default.

In your case, assume that a chapter is security. The mascot of the page might be the icon of safety ANSI (my avatar).

The name of the master page is Chapter.Safety. You might need a PM for Chapter.Safety.Left and a Chapter.Safety.Right if double-sided.

You also define a variant called Heading1.Safety Heading1

The association is between the format name of a paragraph on the body of the page and the name of the Master Page. Art is not involved.

In the table of reference Page MasterPageMaps MasterPageMaps, under the name of tag, RH, LH and range, need you:

    Heading1.safety | Chapter.Safety.Right | Chapter.Safety.Left | Unique

  • Master Page Bugs? Do not update the changes or apply correctly, New Page.

I work for our new models of project with master pages and have found what appears to be several major problems:

1 when I make changes in the Master Page (.htt file), none of those changes propagate to the topics that have been attributed to this Master Page. He shouldn't do that?

    2. as an alternative, I tried to apply a Master Page to several topics on the pod to the list of topics. The first problem with this is that you can not apply the existing Master Page. So, I had to create a new Master Page with my changes and then tried to apply it. However, several problems occur. First of all, none of the new Master Page formatting appears correctly. Second, for some reason it is duplicate the breadcrumbs at the top of the page (each master page, before and after only had a breadcrumb). It seems to have combined some of the formatting both before and after the template.

I must also point out that when I apply the Master Page with changes to a new topic, it works correctly.

I have read the documentation carefully and that you feel that I'm doing this correctly. The problem seems to be that the feature does not as promised. I see this as a serious problem. Our models are likely to change over time, and I need the ability to apply changes massively.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

    Hello

You must first understand Master Pages are used in two completely different ways. Looks like you make changes to the space reserved for the body of the Page Master and expected to see changes influence-related topics. Sorry, but that never worked.

There are therefore two ways Master Pages are designed to work in RoboHelp.

Method 1 - used to infuence the EXISTING content.

Maybe you have created 1,000 and now you want to add a header, footer, or both to these existing entries. You set a Master Page and add a header, footer, or both to the Page Master and you associate it with topics. All of these topics now have a header or footer. Any changes made to the header and/or footer is filled throughout with all related topics.

Method 2 - used to influence the new items that you create.

You may know that you want to create many subjects that should have the same look and feel. Maybe all of them begin with a table that contains an image and text. So you set a Master Page and configure the space reserved for the body you want to see it. When you create new topics, you point to the Master Page so that as the topics are created, the content of the body of the Page master is filled in on the subject as a starting point. Once the topic has been created initially, the changes to the Master Page ARE NOT reflected in the topics. This method works identically to make a copy of a document. The copy is identical to the original. And any changes made to the original will be never copied during the copy. Only NEW copies will receive the changes.

The breadcrumbs go, you have probably GLOBAL breadcrumbs activated in the recipe for the presentation of a single Source. This means that everything gets crumbs during the creation of the exit process. If you try to use the SELECTIVE Breading by adding space to the Page master, you must disable the breadcrumbs GLOBAL to avoid double.

I hope that helps a little... Rick

  • Having a lot of trouble with Master Pages. One minute they were applied, the next minute they were not, but he says they are.

    Hi all

I have a lot of problems with missing Master pages in InDesign.

I was working normally today, and then I suddenly notice that base on some pages master page had disappeared. You can see how they look below!

    1.jpg

About 150 pages always have the master page was applied correctly, and not about 40. I tried to submit a new application by using the tab pages, nothing helps.

The tab pages also asserts that the master page is applied to pages that do not show it.

    2.jpg

If page 114 and 115 have applied control, but do not display it. Then just above, page 112 & 113 are perfectly fine.

    3.jpg

    Any ideas?

If it happens only in a single file, save the file as an IDML and reopen it in InDesign. It may be damaged.

If it goes over a file, try to restore your InDesign preferences:

Garbage, replace, reset or restore the application's preferences

Why a block of text on my A-master (indicated under control) does not control the size of the blocks of text on the pages of the children of this master? But even at this stage, when I create a new A-master, there is no block of text at all, in order to recreate and redo the problematic child pages appear not to be a solution. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

When you click on the Plus sign next to a master page to create another master page, it does not inherit the master page objects. It simply creates an empty template. If you want the new master page to inherit the objects, then right-click on the desired master page and choose 'duplicate page.

As child pages are concerned, Yes, they should inherit all objects and properties of the master page. It's really weird if his past is not for you. What happens when you right click on the page child and apply desired master for this menu?

    Kind regards

  • Problem of master pages

I have a problem with the master pages in In Design worm. 3. I am converting Pagemaker 7 to In Design and have problems my templates to move as they did in pagemaker. I have 2 master pages for numbering and other questions of left/right. in Pagemaker using my template, I might add that a page and the next page would advance to my next master.  Lets say page 1 used the left hand master and the master right-handed page2. Now I want to add a new page after page 1 he would use the master of the right hand and the old page 2 (page 3 of now) would flow and use the master of the left hand, as would after all the pages. With In Design when adding a page after page 1, I get a sheet with the master of page 1 and the old page 2 always uses the master page 2 even though it is now page 2 so shake all my master pages. the only way I see to the difficulty which is to go to each page and change the master page, and it's a killer. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'm tired. Can someone help me please? PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

Yes, he would. To do what you want, the master page must be a double page. Try to change the options of masters for the master A two pages, and then copy the elements of the B master in the second master page.

Now, select all the pages in the pages palette and apply a. master

Pagemaker document conversion can be almost useless almost perfect anywher.

  • Double Master page has not not as expected

After the two video review and a tutorial written on Muse - specifically the creation and function of the duplicate Master Page - I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Most of my site is built on a single master, but I want a single page to appear a little differently. I clicked on the page master and choose "duplicate" and began the process of tweaking the duplicate. After finishing, I applied the collective duplicate to one of the pages of the site that I had seen and read in the tutorials. Unfortunately, I discovered that my changes in double was emulated in the original even if double "masterless" listed. This is contrary to what I've just seen and read.

    What Miss me?

    Thank you.

I was not able to reproduce the behavior using Muse CC 2014.2

This is the behavior I see:

    • When I right-click and duplicate a master (say A-master), a new teacher named A-master copy is created.
    • I then edit the newly created master (A-master copy)
    • Apply A-master page to copy a page of the site and all the formatting of the A-master copy is applied to the page of the site.
    • The page of the master, to indicate what master page displays [A-master copy] as badge site is applied.

The only thing I can think is that maybe more properties have been applied to the web page itself which override the options of the master page that you applied?

    Try the following:

    • Right-click on the problem page and see if there is the option to reset the Page Properties . What happens if you select this option?
    • Otherwise, there are objects that have been added to the problem page? In Design view (View menu), view the layers panel, expand all the layers (select the triangle to the left of the layer name) and see if there are objects that might interfere with the display of the master page objects.

If the foregoing is of no help, would you be able to provide some screenshots of the behavior you're seeing? That could help us to acknowledge what is happening.

Not sure why this is happening, but I had to go back on all of my pages to see if the icons/widgets have been pinned activating / disabling back and fourth of my master to my pages of subsites. When I select the icon or widget in the master and then switch to the sub page it appears but when I go back to the subpage again the icon or widget is missing. • Master Page items view does not correctly

I use the latest version of Muse and I have problems with my head on the master page.

The home page and on the pages, everything looks great (on the desktop, I didn't design sensitive yet). If you click on an Antique floor, you can see the header gets biased (although on the master page, all items are pinned Centre and grouped) and also the word ABOUT does not appear correctly (hurt, not centered)

I also had problems with the footer to be cut and not displaying not centered, in the yellow and white box type... instead, it was black type, hurt, no background, framed on the left. I got around the problem by placing one foot on each page, but as this site develops, it will be inconvenient.

    Hi Peter,.

Regarding "It was a known and fixed bug with the recent update from yesterday," so we did fix a bug with 2015.1.1 symptoms, we are also aware of another similar bug in this build.

That the bug and the temporary workaround are mentioned in the link I posted above. I think that Lucy has already tried this work around that the current version of http://oldwoodworkshop.businesscatalyst.com/index.html#home is published with the edition of In-Browser disabled.

  • Can FrameMaker to create several Master Pages with sizes different pages in a single file of FM?

Can FrameMaker to create several Master Pages with sizes different pages in a single file of FM?

    N °

You must break your content between files and use the book feature to apply numbering to make look it seamless. Sometimes, if you can, re - organize the content so that all oversize pages come at the end of a chapter/file makes it easier to manage a such split files in the book.

  • Cannot select different tools or double-click on master pages in InDesign.

I use Adobe Design Standard CS5.5. Recently, I uninstalled the software from another computer in my office and put on a new (Yes completely disabled and uninstalled). Since installing on the new machine, I can open the files, but once I have run the program and choose initially a tool (text tool or pointer) I can not then switch to another tool. I can go on it but it does not change, menu drop-down boxes do not work, and double clicking on a master page only gives me access to it. I've found other ways to edit documents in a pinch (ESC - V to go back to the pointer tool, using the pull down menu in the sidebar "override master pages", etc.), but this is obviously not normal. I'm relatively new to InDesign so I had someone else who is an experienced user he looks and he couldn't understand what the problem is either. He said it was a software problem. Any suggestions?
