  • Is there a shortcut to Mathtype in page?

I use page 5.6.2 and Mathtype 6.7 h. MathType works perfectly for me. However, I often have need of equations of type, and it is not conveneint to pull down on the Insert tab and click on "Insert a Mathtype equation." Is there anyway that I can create a shortcut to insert a mathtype equations? I read several answers of the past (on how you can do it by going to System Preferences), but it no longer works. Please let me know if you can help.

You can assign an unused keyboard shortcut to MathType equation... menu item:

    1. System Preferences: keyboard Panel: tab shortcuts: App shortcuts
      1. Click on + to add an application
        1. Application: Pages (Golden icon)
        2. Menu title: MathType equation... (option +; to set as ellipsis)
        3. Keyboard shortcut: control-M (will show as ^ M).
      2. Quit System preferences
    2. V5.6.2 pages will now have this shortcut to MathType in the Insert menu.
  • Problem using MathType Fonts

I need to write papers with mathematical symbols and have tried to use MathType. I get an error when I start the current version of MathType. A window pops up that says:

"MathType requires a newer version of the currently installed MT Extra police. Please reinstall MathType to the current version or [know how to disable the Apple fonts]. »

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling MathType and still get the same error. I tried to disable the Apple fonts and that did not work. I called MatType support and they gave me instructions to install the font MT Extra Applications > MathType 6 > fonts > TrueType file. I did this and got a pop-up window that looked like an overview of the police: symbols such as the universal quantification. After a few seconds, a window appeared called "Validation of the police. He said:

"1 serious error was found not to use this font." There is a button at the bottom of the window that says "install verified" its greyed out, but if I select additional MT in the window it always gives me the option to click the button.

I did not go ahead and install the police even though since it sounded like a serious mistake. I asked the support of MathType and they said not to worry about that and just go ahead and use the font. However, when I go ahead and click on the 'Install' button despite a serious red warning, I get a WARNING OTHER say, something like:

"This could seriously affect your environment, including breakdowns of the system."

I ask the people of MathType one more time but thought I would as in this case. Does anyone know why I get these errors and more importantly is - it really good to use the font? Are there any other ways in addition to MathType for math formulas? I have a lot, especially just to the first-order logic, set theory, and summons.

I'm on an iMac running OS 10.11.5 (the info in my profile is outdated, will correct this) and with the help of Apple product Pages version 5.6.2

I would like some suggestions here.

It's for Mac support community Pages and not the place debug MathType. Continue to work with MathType support team, as it is their product and not an integral part of the Pages.

  • Fonts of screwed up after installing Mathtype equation

I just got a new iMac and like the screen 4K a lot. I work with many people on a topic which has a lot of equations by using Microsoft word. I use Microsoft Office 365 release 2016. At the beginning, I can see good equations (some fonts, not horrible like my old iMac mess). Then I found that there is no Equation Editor installed with Word. I then download a trial 30-day Mathtype. After installation, all equations are so messy that I barely see anything. I uninstalled Mathtype, but can not solve the problem. I sent a request to Mathtype a few days ago, but they did not answer me. Does anyone have the same experience? Can someone give an opinion? My iOS is El Capitan 10.11.3.  Thank you very much!

MathType probably installed contradictory policies that are still on the system. Open font book. In the menu, run the command restore fonts Standard. All third-party fonts will be moved into the folder/System/Library/Fonts/and the root/Library/Fonts/folder. A new folder named fonts (deleted) will be created next to each of the files of fonts noted. All third party fonts that may have been in the two folders of fonts will be there.

As this command does not affect the fonts folder in your user account, the problem will still exist if there are installed by Mathtype fonts. Click anywhere on the desktop so Finder is the name of the app next to the Apple logo in the upper left corner. Press command + shift + H to open your user account folder. If you do not see the library of your account folder, press command-j. turn on the check box to display the library folder. Close this box. Now in your user account, go into/Library/Fonts /. Create a new folder on your desktop and move all fonts in the fonts folder to the new empty folder.

After that these steps, the only active fonts on the system will be installed by OS X. Restart the Mac in Mode safe be restarted and hold down the SHIFT key. When he arrives on the desk (it will ask you to connect), restart again normally. Test.

  • Images MathType EPS does not grey to quick view

I have a script that puts the (created in MathType) EPS images in a document (initially, I asked it as a question script here: avoid 'reading' of images .) "But now I think that it can't really be a script-specific). After putting the images, move to a new spread in the document that has a picture on it is very slow the first time (subsequent time there no lag). A blue bar appears at the bottom of the window that says "Reading [image name]." If I save and reopen the document, no lag at all. It was suggested by Laubender in this thread that it may be related to InDesign trying to create proxy images, which seems like a reasonable answer.

The problem I have, however, is to test this hypothesis. Change my display to Fast performance does not not these images. Other images EPS (not of MathType) gray out as I expect to, but not the equations. The only way I can the grey is a right-click on a specific image and define its display performance (but since this is at that time that I already sailed on the spread where image, no help by checking if disable proxy images has solved the problem of lag). Is this a known issue with MathType EPS images? I can't tell if they are EPS/WMF or EPS/TIFF or EPS/nothing (if anyone know of a way to tell on a PC, I know). Open them in a text editor and looking at the code, I don't think they contain insights, but I'm no expert on the EPS.

Is it possible to get InDesign to process these images identical to any other EPS, or is there something I can do for images to ID treat them like this? TIA.

Have you tried to turn it off / 'allow the display settings to the level of objects?

  • Export docs missing symbols of Mathtype

    Hello!

What's happening: I am converting word documents containing many (as in hundreds) Mathtype objects. The numbers/letters in these make their appearance in the pdf fine, but most of the symbols, including the symbols of grouping nexted, appear not at all. Some symbols are being substituted, they are just missing entirely. I have attached a single page for example.

What I tried: I have a computer in any of the office which will export correctly, and not the rest. Unfortunately, nobody seems to know how this computer found its ability to function as it should... I compared registration to the directory for program files Mathtype, system fonts folders and folders of Acrobat files on a computer with the question to those on single machine. There are a few differences in the system fonts, and I tried to copy it to this folder without any successful results. There was also a difference in two of the Word add in the dll files in the Acrobat PDFmaker folder. I copied those of the machine to work on a non-working machine, still with no luck. The clear concerns fonts seem MTextra and symbol, which are installed and integrated.

Any thoughts on what I'm missing? Most of the discussions I've seen so far are fonts of symbols being replaced during the passage of products Mathtype Adobe, or questions with the help of Mac OS. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated - I'm really wrong here!

    Thank you!!

You've checked out all the good things, but the fonts can be confusing, especially the way Windows displays and uses. You have also identified the 2 most important fonts for MathType - MT Extra and symbol equations. However, these fonts are installed on the work computer and the messy hair, doesn't mean it's the same version of these fonts. You will, indeed, several versions of already installed fonts. Confused yet? (Blame it on Microsoft!)

I'll try to make sense out of it...

Take MT Extra, for example. It is possible and quite common to have 2 or 3 versions of this font that is installed on your computer. It's has no way for you to know how much you have, because only appear in your folder fonts. Not only that, but only one is available for your software applications. It is not the most important, is not with the latest creation or last modification date. It is simply the last installed. Software sometimes the police MT Extra with his package, and when you install the software, MT Extra is installed with it. Version of MathType's MT Extra is critical, because it contains tons of glyphs than any other version of MT Extra. Therefore, if another software installed its own version of MT Extra, some of the symbols which MathType has on is not available because Windows only resembles the last installed.

On the messy computer, open your fonts folder (Explorer Windows, my computer, control panel - no matter how you get there). Click on the two MT Extra and symbol (hold down Ctrl to select both at the same time), then press the delete key. Close the window. Open the fonts folder. If one of these fonts is still there, repeat the removal process, closing the window each time, so that they do not appear when you open the file fonts. (For some reason, refreshes the display of fonts does not work here.) I did find something that works except close the window and open a new one.)

Now copy both of these fonts from the work computer and install it on the messy computer. I hope that works. If not, write back.

    var f = File (fp);

    f.Open ('r');

    var fs = f.read ();

  • How to insert an equation

How can I insert an equation into pages

Download the trial version of MathType. When you open the application front Pages v5 is launched, the latter to the Insert menu: MathType equation... is active, and you can insert inline equations. After 30 days, the trial of MathType found MathType Lite and it remains functional for use with Pages.

There are other ways to insert equations, but the above is far more integrated, comprehensive, and (free).

  • How to add fractions to a Pages document?

How to add fractions to a Pages document?

At the bottom of the menu editing in Pages is emoticons and symbols. This is the palette of characters. If there is no category of figures in the collection categories at left, then click on the gear icon in the toolbar, select Customize list... Check the numbers - All and click done.

Click on the digit - all categories, and scroll way down characters panel until you encounter the vulgar fractions. A double click on any one of them will be insert in your Pages document at the insertion point or current. For fractions not on this list, type your numerator, and then double-click the separate slash ' / ' to insert it. Then type your denominator, followed by a space. Select the numerator and select Format: font: Baseline: exposing. Choose the denominator and this time, choose index. Click behind this space on the right and from the same sequence of menu, select default. You can now select the vulgar fraction and change its font attributes.

You can use Grapher (Launchpad: others: Grapher). Choose the default graphical value 2D on the launch. You will see an equation has begun to y =. Backspace over it, and then type 1/2. This will generate a fraction (stacked) case. Right-click on this fraction and select copy as: PDF (or your image type).

You can also check system preferences: keyboard Panel: text and some fractions are there by default. You can make new ones by applying the techniques of paragraph second in the field with. For replacement in Pages, you will need Edit menu: Substitutions: replace selected item text menu.

And finally, there is the trial of MathType coming back to MathType Lite after 30 days. You must launch MathType and then Pages, in that order. These are the people who wrote the original Equation Editor for MS Office well that MathType is well beyond the version of Microsoft in the current capability.

  • Looking for two spaces consecutive in a Pages document

    5.6.1 pages

    OSX 10.11.3,

    27 "iMac end 2013.

When I search a document Pages 5.6.1 for two consecutive spaces (so that I can make a replacement all the) present Pages of MathType equations as instances. Can someone explain what, to the top with this?

I've recently updated to 4.3, reluctantly. Things got better in 5.6.1 but this seems like a real bug.

    Thank you

    Rick

There may be more than one space preceding or following a MathType equation in your document. Anything with that at all.

In your view menu, display invisible characters. If there are two spaces adjacent to a MathType equation, then you can use the right arrow in the dialog box find/replace to strengthen these past, occurrences or replace them.

Pages ' 09 v4.3 and v5.6.1 Pages are entirely different applications, the latter being a subset dismal, inconsistent of the former. You use v5 Pages when you like frustration and lost productivity and Pages ' 09, when you want the accomplishment.

  • Problem with updating and downloads

I have windows 7, 64-bit version. I tried to download Mathtype and Tomtom Home on firefox (because Tomtom Home began to break up when he tried to update), and full downloads after the fixation of the DNS server, but when you try to run I got errors for files. For Mathtype, he told me, he was corrupted and to get another version and validate, considering that it's just for Tomtom says "not a Win32 application invalid."

I tried to download Mathtype in Internet explorer, just so he could get stuck at 99% for a long time and then say that it was interrupted. When I type CV he says that the signature was not valid.

I can also update with Windows update, it is stuck at 99%, before that I fixed the DNS server, but now there is literally no progress at all.

I tried to launch the test of memory in administration tools, and no problem not found. What could happen and how to fix it? Is it still bad RAM? Avast can be somehow interfere?

Also, I did a scan via the command prompt and it find corruptions, but I don't remember where (he only listed more precisely).

Just before I did, on the advice of a friend, I've installed and used Iolo System Mechanic and used. I wasn't sure with the reviews on amazon, but tried anyway... somehow, it worked. A new Mathtype runs. A new Hitmanpro runs. Windows Update installs each update. I thank both you much however.

  • Trouble with math font

    Dear friends,

Please see the photo above.  I'm doing the physical work, but I get these bad characters.  On top, the formula is completely unreadable.  I think they are just meant to be brackers it.  At the bottom left is a simple example.  You can see where there tan - 1... etc.  Well 8/6 is just supposed to (8/6).  Please let me know how I can solve this problem.

As far as I know, the problem is with the media.  In the first example on the top, the "d" should be a left hook and the long 'i' must be a closing parenthesis.  There are the second set of values in the same problem from the top.  the long 'b' must be a left hook and the 'g' long must be a closing parenthesis.  On the background, must be "b8 / 6g '"(8/6) '. "  So I am g-d and BS where it should be left hook, and I make i and g's where there should be of right media.  What should I do?

Okay, that was pretty easy.  It is a text of Wiley and I searched through their support forum.  Apparently, they had this problem before.  In any case, the solution is to download and install 'MathType'.  By installing this program, it puts support necessary to use large fonts in the Wiley book of physics.

I don't know how to close this topic.  I'll mark the answer on my own post.  I hope that I don't cheat you out of all credit for the correct answer.
