  Whenever I try to run Microsoft Fix it, I get an error message saying something like "an unexpected error has occurred.  The fix that it Wizard cannot continue. "I used to see if the Fix, it would help solve the problem of update that take place on this Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows Vista 32-bit Service Pack 1 with Norton 360.  I thought that I had made progress on the issue of the update, but now they are all fail during installation, including Service Pack 2.
  The Dell PC Checkup shows as operating without any problems portable equipment.

  Thank you very much for your help.  I did as you suggested.  First: the Safety Scanner did not find a malware, etc. on my computer, which is really good.

  Second - accounts - outside myself - on my computer. I was surprised to see there was a guest account as well as mine.  I now extinct 'guest account '.  I can think about is my daughter and her husband who make us visit once a year.  April, my daughter knows a lot about computers, so I think that it is the culprit!

  That is the problem solved, and I am grateful for your help.

• Cannot use double-click to open programs. Cannot use Microsoft Office.

  The problem just started yesterday.  My computer had a virus, one of those messages false antivirus and it took longer than normal to Norton to fix it, but he said that the problem had been resolved.  Well, I have no more fake antivirus message, but there are funny things past with my programs.  The biggest problem is that when I click on a program, either on the desktop or elsewhere, a 'open with' message appears asking me to choose a program to open my program with.  I can open most of my programs by right clicking and selecting Start, but for some reason any by clicking on the icon itself does not work.  In addition, I can not run any microsoft office programs.  When I try the message: "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action.  Create an association in the set Associations control panel. "is displayed.

  I tried to do a scan using Norton programs, but a message pops up saying "Norton 360 has met an internal program error".

  I've fiddled around all day trying to figure out what's wrong, but I have no idea what is wrong with it.  This just started yesterday, so I don't know what could have caused it.

  I was transferred to Microsoft Fix IT America To Microsoft Australia where I got an error on the page of script box to come, it was such a problem that I had to disconnect from the internet and shut down my computer.

  Just to let you know that I managed to solve the problem of CD by uninstalling the VLC media player and then put it back in place. He played perfectly. With respect to other issues of troubleshooting, I uninstalled fixit microphone and then just used a new one that I googled and fortunately it seems to work. Thanks again for your help.
