Mavericks

I would like to download a Version of Mac OS X of Mavericks, but don't know where to find them at Apple.

If you have already downloaded from the Mac App Store, open a session in there with the same Apple ID and click the purchases tab.

If this is not the case, go to a physical store of Apple and ask.

  • MacBook 2008 El Capitan or Mavericks

I buy a refurbished Macbook 2008. This is a screen of 13.3 "with 2.4 GHZ. I have a selection of El Capitan, Yosemite or Mavericks. Should I go with the Mavericks or El Capitan? I have a friend who has upgraded to El Capitan with his 2008. I also heard some of those who have said that they will never switch to El Capitan and will stay with the Mavericks. Since I have this choice, choose El Capitan or Maverick? I basically will use this laptop for Keynote presentations. It would be nice to go on the Internet searching for information required for presentations. Thanks for the help! Bookman

I guess that your Macbook is a fine model of 2008.

Unless you had some Mavericks, installed in another computer and it is in your App store account, you won't be able to use it because it is no longer available.  This soul El Capitan is your only choice.

Since this Macbook is new to you, you will need to install the original OS x (Leopard) or Snow Leopard to get the Macbook associated with your Apple ID.  This is necessary so that you can install updates (including the OSX)

    You will need this disk:

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MC573Z/A/Mac-OS-x-106-Snow-Leopard

Then run the Combo of Snow Leopard update:

    https://support.Apple.com/kb/dl1399?locale=en_US

This moment will allow you to install the Mavericks (assuming that you have a copy of your App Store account) or El Capitan.

    Ciao.

  • There is no feature to unlock by Apple Watch with the Mavericks

    Hello

I've updated my Mac Mini (2013) to the Mavericks but found no line under 'Security' in 'System Preferences' which gives me the option to unlock by Apple Watch? I have re-installed the software but still nothing appears. I've updated my iCloud with the "two factor authentication" settings and still nothing...

    Can someone help me please?

You say in your post that you have a Mac Mini in 2013, but your lower signature, color gray, says you have a Mac Mini from 2012.

    Who is this?

In any case, the unlock feature requires any model 2013 and later Mac running the new macOS Sierra (NOT OS X 10.9 Mavericks) using a Apple Watch, running watch OS 3 with an iPhone 5 or later.

Time for either to update hardware and software!

  • Should I downgrade from Yosemite to the Mavericks?

    Hello.

I am currently using the retina-no, mid 2012 MacBook Pro with 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB HARD drive. I bought in 2015 so it came with Yosemite (version 10.10.5) preinstalled. I don't plan to upgrade the HARD drive to SSD anytime soon. So should I install the Mavericks on the mac or continue to use the Yosemite. Which of the two will run better and faster?

No Apple Mac can run an operating system earlier than that which he had initially.

  • Dictation accessibility in Mavericks secondary Board

I turned in Mavericks dictation (10.9.5). Everything went well: increased dictation has been downloaded and it works. When I go to accessibility in system preferences, in order to work with orders of dictation, however, there is no secondary on the left at the dictation. Who should have appeared automatically, or do I have to download this subgroup of experts separately?

Get you anything if you press the button FN twice?

    Hello

I now have OS x capitan on my macbook pro and I want to downgrade to Maverick, but I have some problems with this problem

I download the mavierick and I put it on my external hard drive.

When I restart my mac and boot from the external drive, it's freezing on the loading icon and I'm waiting it exceeds 1 hour, but it still the same problem.

    Thank you

Your Mac came with the Mavericks, or earlier? You cannot start a version of Mac OS x earlier than what it came with.

  • I need Mavericks?

I am very happy with OSX Mavericks.   I especially don't want to part with nice 3D dock.  (I hate the flat doc in the newest operating system)  I don't want to see changes in how the operating system works now because I'm so used to it after 3 years.   Are there risks of security with your stay with the Mavericks?  How can I go on patching my current Mavericks have all the latest patches without having it pass me to El Capitan?   The finder reported my OS as 10.9.5.

Yet one thing, there are a new alert out of security today for:

    CVE-2016-4654, CVE-2016-4655 and CVE-2016-4656

This affects only El Capitan and Yosemite?    I need to find a patch for the Mavericks?

Hi MacFan, in General, you should always pass to the last possible system like you meet the specs for, as long as you do not have "must have" applications that do not meet specifications. Upgrades and updates contain important security as well as additional functionality enhancements.

    https://support.Apple.com/kb/sp728

If there is a patch for the update that you have been notified by Mac AppStore. I'm not familiar with all the various security updates.

but thatone is available only for El Capitan and Yosemite:

  • Where can I download an update to MacOS mavericks to yosemite?

Where can I download an update to MacOS mavericks to yosemite? Because El Capitan didn t work properly on my older iMac (2007 average). Thank you for the help

I'm afraid of what yosemite is no longer available except to those who had already downloaded the Installer before the release of El Capitan. For you, it's either Mavericks or El Capitan.

  • command line "install MAC OS x 10.9 Mavericks' has been accepted what then?"

    Hello again

Always in the hope of getting help, none so far. BUT I've made some progress. Using CMD + S I'm entered in 'install MAC OS x 10.9 Mavericks' this command was excluded. Now a list of choice as follows:

Install (-bCcpSsV) (-suffix B) (-f flags) (-Group g) (-m mode)

    (- owner o) file1 file2

    Install (-bCcpSsv) and again the f g m b

    (- owner o) file1... fileN directory

    Install d (-v) (-Group g) (-m mode) (-owner o) directory

I'm trying to install OSX with USB - HDD

"owner) it's me. Please how can I proceed!

Those who are not choices. Here's the proper use of the command line, thinks you meant. But the command you entered is not valid. Simplify your life. Start the computer normally. In the eyes of Applications folder for the installation of Mavericks application. Double-click the icon.

Note that if you have a PowerBook under Leopard, so you cannot override. If you have a real MacBook or MacBook Pro, then you have other options. But you have not provided sufficient or correct information to help you.

  • Major update of Mavericks

    Hello

I currently use an iMac (late 2013, with 2.7 Ghz 16 GB RAM and Intel Core i5 processor) with the Mavericks, and I intend to do a major update of the OS.

Do you have any tips to update, or do the update now expect for Sierra with El Capitan, then update again with Sierra later?

In other words, given my hardware configuration, should I update in one step directly to Sierra or two-step (with update to El Capitan, and then to Sierra)?

Thanks much for the advice and friendly answers

Sierra is in beta and the Beta applications are never remmeneded for production systems, only for the test.

Past that we cannot discuss the details of the current pubis BONE more vs the current beta OS in these forums.

Backup, make sure that your system is eligible for the current operating system, make sure that your system meet or exceed the specifications: assessment of 2 GB of RAM to 10.11 apples found on these forums as not effective for an upgrade "nice", in many cases, even 4 GB RAM can be problematic. Check your 3rd party software and hardware is compatible by contacting suppliers, as the compatibility of sites such as Roaringapps.com are prone to user error.

Once you have done this, you can upgrade to El Capitan, and wait for the current beta version to become public before engaging it in a production environment.

  • Mavericks install Question

Can I install the Mavericks on a bootable usb key made from a download on a MacBook Pro iMac?

Yes, provided that the model you have will start the Mavericks. You will need to erase the drive in the Installer before installing.

  • Should I upgrade Mavericks 10.9.5 to ElCapitan or later operating system or stay where I am?

why I'm hesitant to upgrade is because of the bad experience I had with the iPhone 4 when I upgraded to 7.1.2 it more slowly and often freeze and stuck and Apple wouldn't help but say to buy the latest iPhone and former bin. Why could I do when my phone was in good condition and I didn't lose my money to buy a new simply because Apple wanted to sell the new iPhones.

I won't repeat the same mistake by elevating the mavericks to the latest operating system if facing the same problem.

Please guide me what to do?

    Thank you very much

I recommend that you stay on the Mavericks. I was running Mavericks and I regret the upgrade. I'm on El Capitan, and I don't like one bit. If I could, I would go back to the Mavericks.

I find El Capitan slow and I got much more kernel panics since I've updated. No I'm talking about has this problem but it is irritating me so.

I also find the design of the Mavericks to be easier on the eyes. I find the Park Yosemite and El Capitan (and soon Sierra) be difficult to watch, colorful and bright.

This is just my opinion, however, you must actually visit an Apple Store and look for yourself and compare El Capitan to the Mavericks.

  • Flash player seems to be missing in Mac, Mavericks - even once it is installed successfully.

First of all, I am in a current Mavericks OS on a Mac Powerbook with Firefox 39.0.

First of all, I started to receive messages that I need Flash Player to see this or this new video, so I installed a copy, maybe not the "best" source. then I started to receive messages to the effect that it would not be OK, so I went in "tools / modules / plugins and selected 'never turn on'." I looked for a way to remove this module, but could not find a way.

Then I went to the Adobe site and installed Flash Player from here. This completed and indicated that the installation was successful. But then, I find that this new version does not even appears in the list of plug-ins, and of course, that it is never active, therefore effectively invisible.

I'm sure I've been through things upwards but have no idea where to start to remedy that. Help!

Finally, the current Flash Player is safe to use?

    Thank you
    MidAtlantian

    Hello

Problem solved. Apparently Adobe Flash Player installs a plugin to Firefox that is named "Shockwave Flash", and I had disabled that thinking it might have been an insecure bit of software.

In any case, thank you for your efforts.

    See you soon,.

  • How long will be Mavericks be supported by Apple?

    Hello.

    I love the Mavericks.

I'm not too fond of Yosemite and El Capitan. Seems like all is get oversimplified in the wrong direction.

I use older Mac, Macbook Pro Late 2008 and 2011.

I think Apple releases new Osx versions faster than ever and probably a lot has do earn more revenue.

I noticed that the fan is working like crazy on the Macbook Pro 2001 with El Capitan with similar processes which are not CPU lift on the Mavericks.

    Question:

How long will be Mavericks be supported by Apple?

Last year the support of Cougar was abandoned. Mavericks is next on the list... So this might be a good time to start troubleshooting any wrong with El Capitan on your 2011 MBP. Because I have no problem whether EC currently running on this same exact model.
