Major update of Mavericks

Hello

I currently use an iMac (late 2013, with 2.7 Ghz 16 GB RAM and Intel Core i5 processor) with the Mavericks, and I intend to do a major update of the OS.

Do you have any tips to update, or do the update now expect for Sierra with El Capitan, then update again with Sierra later?

In other words, given my hardware configuration, should I update in one step directly to Sierra or two-step (with update to El Capitan, and then to Sierra)?

Thanks much for the advice and friendly answers

Sierra is in beta and the Beta applications are never remmeneded for production systems, only for the test.

Past that we cannot discuss the details of the current pubis BONE more vs the current beta OS in these forums.

Backup, make sure that your system is eligible for the current operating system, make sure that your system meet or exceed the specifications: assessment of 2 GB of RAM to 10.11 apples found on these forums as not effective for an upgrade "nice", in many cases, even 4 GB RAM can be problematic. Check your 3rd party software and hardware is compatible by contacting suppliers, as the compatibility of sites such as Roaringapps.com are prone to user error.

Once you have done this, you can upgrade to El Capitan, and wait for the current beta version to become public before engaging it in a production environment.

It worked doesn't mean anything. 'Inconsistent' means that it was not tested, nor is it updated to work with this version, as it is updated, which can result in what you feel. You can try to run the application in Compatibility Mode, but the chances of work without problems are slim. The real solution is to upgrade to a compatible version.

  • E-all-in-one HPOfficejet 8600Pro printer will not now speak to iMac since updates Driver & Maverick

I just bought a new HP printer and set up on my iMac to print. After a LOT of messing around FINALLY got it works, BUT a day later upgrades arrived to update my iOS X 10.9.3 with a simultaneous upgrade of the software driver for the printer. I duly installed at once – but now, regardless of what I do the printer will not work. The computer can be seen as it is showing ink etc. levels and said he printed and I can print test pages, but it has not allowed me to print from Word, Excel, Web or PDF!  I tried to uninstall the printer drivers and reinstall those of the HP Web, which I suppose would be the 'old' - but still no luck. I need this job and am close to tears - any help would be appreciated. I also tried deleting and reinstalling Office for Mac... NB it prints beautifully and effortlessly to my husband's PC.

    Welcome to the LAG54 forums,

I saw your post about not being able to use the printer completely after a few updates. I will do my best to help you with this!

    First, try the following steps:

    1. Mac OS X: how to reset the printing system
    2. Repair disk permissions
    3. Restart your computer
    4. Add the printer: full function and driver-OS X 10.9 Mavericks software

I hope that does the trick! Let me know the results!

Here's what I tried without success.

    I tried:

    Open $TMPDIR... me.

    Then delete the folder com.apple.appstore

    also tried this

    Open Terminal and type:

    sudo rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist

    sudo rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist

    and this:

    1. Leave the App Store
    2. Use Activity Monitor to stop the following processes
      • storeaccountd
      • storeassetd
      • storedownloadd
      • storeinappd
    3. On Terminal delete the following folders:
      • / Users/jj/Library/Caches/storeaccountd
      • / Users/jj/Library/Caches/storeassetd
      • / Users/jj/Library/Caches/storedownloadd
      • / Users/jj/Library/Caches/storeinappd
    4. Restart the download and the app store!

I can't update of course and I can't remove it.

I also tried to repair disk permissions.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thank you

If you Ctrl-click on the button update are he gives you an option to hide the update?

The App Store is to notice that there is a copy of the Mac OS X Installer Mavericks somewhere on your Mac

or on an external drive connected, do you think you might have a copy somewhere. It's called Mavericks.app

you could try a Spotlight search.

Or you can uncheck automatically updates in the App Store preferences in system preferences.

  • My second download lost to a update OSx Maverick?

When I updated my OS x Lion with Maverick once the udate was completed, Abobe asked me to uninstall and reinstall my Indesign CS6. Have I lost my second download I was saving for a second computer?

    Laughing out loud

Adobe always will allow you to install and activate its products up to two computers at the same time.  even if you are unable to disable (help > deactivate) on a computer you can get help from adobe support to reset your number of activations.

but change softare (IE, os) does not count as a separate computer.  If you have made a significant change of hardware (cpu/hd), which counts as a separate computer.

  • Installation "Major updates"

Once again, I have received the message "An important update" and attempted to install.  Once more, the installation failed, this time with the error message: 80070539 indicated.  After going through the instructions, I got an error message response that showed many different error messages dissimilar to mine.  The available instructions are useless.  They advise you just repeat the installation steps (3Xs failed) or give a weak excuse for your operating system.  I have more of 70g of space on my drive hard, my connections are defined (get you this haven't you?) and I have Windows 7.  Why does Microsoft even bother?  I think you put in service a lower quality product.  Fortunately, the time approaches the income tax and I'll look in the Mac.  I'll also use my influence as a specialist of purchases for the University, I work to give up this garbage.  Thanks for stealing my money and that's it.

    Hello

also try to go to your site in manufacturere graphics or computer cards and find the driver download section

Search your computer or graphics card model number based on what you have and download and install the latest graphics drivers for vista

You may also like to change how you receive updates for do you download this update problem still through automatic updates

for any update you don't want to, make a right click on it and hide it

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need or who have limited access to internet
