Max number of attempts in Task Scheduler

Hi all

I have a little doubt about the Max Retry field in Task Scheduler.
If the task fails, before changing the status of the task of 'ERROR' the task is retried based on this charge?

1 so it will generate excessive logging, if the logging level is a minimum to begin?
2 affects the recon events? In other words, it will create recon events for each attempt?
3 have an effect on the Number and shape of process for which the Task Scheduler is running?

Help, please.

1 so it will generate excessive logging, if the logging level is a minimum to begin?
It will generate logging

2 affects the recon events? In other words, it will create recon events for each attempt?
I don't think that so that it generates events Recon again

3 have an effect on the Number and shape of process for which the Task Scheduler is running?
What does this scheduled task?

    Hello syncere99,

    1. What is the user account in the Task Scheduler are you for the work you are trying to use the Task Scheduler?

The error code indicates that the user account that was used to create the job no longer exists. This could be because the user account is deleted. I suggest that you remove and re-create a job and check if you have the same problem.

  • Error 1068: Task Scheduler cannot start, impossible defragmentation

I tried to defrag my sister's computer and ran into a problem.  Defragmentation wouldn't because Task Scheduler would not start.  Long story short: operating system Windows 7.  My attempts to solve the problem, there are messages that I continued to receive:

"Windows would not start the Scheduler Service on the Local computer.

    and

"ERROR 1068: the dependency service or group could start."

Please, I need help.  Any ideas?  Do you need more information?

    Thank you in advance,

    Hi Laura,

Open windows control panel, open administrative tools, and then open Services.  First check both of these services.

Remote procedure (RPC) call  This service should show started and startup type must be automatic.

Windows event log                    This service should show started and startup type must be automatic.

If you need to change the settings of the two services above, right-click on the service and select Properties.  Select Automatic from the drop-down list and click on apply.  Once finished, click on the Start button to see if the service starts successfully.

Task Scheduler                            This service should show started and startup type must be automatic.

If you have made changes, see if the disk defragmentation utility will now work.

Let me know if this does not help the issue.

    Hi PC31,.

I have a few questions so that we can better help you.

Have you ever been able to create a task?
Something has changed on your system lately?  For example; Have you installed new software or updates?

You might want to try to restart the Task Scheduler service.  To restart the service, follow the instructions below.

    • Click on the round to Start
    • Type in the box start the search services
    • Click Servicesand select run as administrator of
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue
    • Right click on the Task Scheduler Service and select Restart

If this does not resolve the problem, you can use the System File Checker tool.  Please follow the instructions below.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

Click on the Start ORB and type cmd in the box start the search

    • Right-click cmd in the programs list, and then select run as administrator.
    • If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue
    • At the command prompt, type the following line and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

Windows Vista will now scan all system files and verify their integrity, replace all the files with which it detects a problem.

    Hello

    Added Scheduled tasks are

"C:\Windows\Tasks" where C: is the drive where Windows resides.

You shouldn't have to deal with tasks that have been added to the default Windows ones.

Tasks need to be added and removed in the Task Scheduler, although the backup registry
using Restore Points create should work. This is because each is assigned a SID.

    Method 2:

I suggest to remove the item from the following location registry and check if it helps.

    b. type regedit in the search box and press on enter.
    c. If the application for leave, click on continue to open the registry editor on the left pane, navigate to the following:

    Hi GosuSheep,

Follow the methods and check them off below if it solves the problem.

    Method 1:

Scan the file system (CFS) auditor. This command will launch immediately the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replace all the files with which it detects a problem.

    g. restart the computer to start the disk check.

  • Task Scheduler: several "Image is corrupt or has been tampered with." Guests after downgrading from win 10

    Hey all,.

After trying 10 Windows for a bit, I decided to downgrade (via "Go back to Windows 7" in the control panel-> update of the security & -> Recovery Windows 10). Downgrade succeeded had no problem (at least at first glance), but for a number of tasks in the Task Scheduler, I am presented with the following message:

    Thanks in advance

I just came across another post on Microsoft Technet: Task Scheduler is broken after the downgrade from windows 10.
Dave Green - MSFT wrote a program to discover and fix problems with Windows scheduled tasks. You can find it, as well as sources and an explanation of what he done, here: https://repairtasks.codeplex.com/

There is also a difficulty my Task Scheduler here called

I have not tried one of these

  • Task Scheduler does not work on Windows 7 Ultimate

I tried to start planning the task on Windows 7 Ultimate. The Scheduler tasks window and the message will then appear that "the Task Scheduler service is not available. Task Scheduler will attempt to reconnect to it.

After clicking on OK button the Task Scheduler app stays on, but I'm not sure it works...

Services applet shows this "Task Scheduler" service started and in automatic mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your solution. In fact, I found a easier:

    1. backup tasks under folder C:\Windows\system32\Tasks

2 remove all the tasks in the C:\Windows\system32\Tasks folder

    3. then add tasks one by one.

I found this task under M:\Backup\Task backup\Microsoft\Windows\Media Center called mcupdate_scheduled, the message appears. Given that I do not care much for Media Center I does not simply restore this task

  • How to use Windows media player with the windows Task Scheduler (7)?

Original title: why it is so difficult... question of windows media player 12

You want to use Windows media player with windows (7) Task Scheduler.   We have a pc, everything that appears on the screen is also pumped to our community cable channel, normally a slideshow in loop is the show, however, sometimes via a scheduler interrupt the slideshow to play a video (say a video of our last Board of Directors meeting) and to make videos, ideally the slideshow returns.

Using Microsoft software, in this case, Windows Media Player v12.0.7601.18150, Task Scheduler 1.0, two things must happen.

1 Task Scheduler launch a video in fullscreen / top of window.

    2. when the video is finished, wmp is closed.

Well, 1 works fine.  The Task Manager launching wmp in full screen.  And a framework of wmp switches to allow a session of wmp be on top.

However, a short time after launch wmp cut the screen down to a smaller version.

And 2. closure of WMP fails to occur.  He remains on the screen waiting for human input.

    Any input appreciated.

    Charlie

For "cuts WMP down to a smaller version", right click on the video game (during playback) and deselect ' auto Player size to contain video.

For number 2, define your point of Task Scheduler task for the "end of task after X minutes" and therefore the value of X.  Then it will kill the instance of running Media Player after a large number of minutes.  So, it will absolutely immediately when the video is done playing, but it will be within 60 seconds and will be at least to remove WMP and let your slideshow be visible again.

    Hello

I suggest you ensure that all your Services have the boot by default settings, but you need another computer running Windows 7 64 bit to export the registry data of.

Another method to do this would be to download the file at the link below (downloads are towards the bottom of the page) and then merge it with your registry as described in the article.  Note:  Generally, it is not a good idea to add registry files downloaded from the internet, but these are good - you can also check the entries that will be merged beforehand uncompressing the file, then open it in Notepad.
