May not delegate SSO administrator permissions

We have improved our Setup together vSphere 4.1 to 5.5, with a new brand of vCenter Server VM running in 2008 R2. Four hosts were as clean installs (not upgraded). We have everything connected to the domain, and when we have implemented SSO it was very simple and worked without any problems. However, we need to change the default AUTHENTICATION connection, or at least add another account with the same exact privileges and permissions - something that would reflect the connection of [email protected] by default. It is mainly for remote access, we want a separate account for this.

In Single Sign-On, under users and groups, I have added an account called root and reflect the parameters for the default Administrator account. But when I log in the vCenter as the root of the inventory is empty. Record as an administrator and everything is back in the inventory.

If because of the AD does not recognize the root account? What is a SQL instance on the vCenter Server VM error? Any help would be appreciated-

Adding a root user only has proved to be a workaround, the solution turned out be much simpler. When password rules are assigned to AD user accounts, SSO will not connect unless these accounts have been validated on a machine (virtual or physical) area. Removal of password rules (for example, change password at the first login) will allow the SSO login even if the AD account credentials have been validated. Once a user has validated its AD account, SSO will allow these AD accounts for use by connecting to SSO, regardless of advertising rules on passwords. The account has been locked in AD even voluntarily funmbling the connection to the SSO domain. Has given us enough of headaches I wanted to convey to the community. VMware technical support said they only wanted to write a KB on it as well. It's always something simple, it seems!

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes before the show?
    2. is the computer is joined to the domain controller?

You can not start any application on a client computer that is joined to the domain controller. When you try to start this type of application, you receive an error message similar to the following:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

This can also occur if the user account is damaged. If the computer is not connected to a domain controller, try the following steps.
    1. connect to another user account and create a new user account to fix the damaged user account.

With steam, it happens 100% of the time when he tries to update. I am trying to troubleshoot with them, but I strongly suspect that there is an underlying problem related to Windows. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

  • Cannot find the specified device, path, or file. May not be the appropriate permissions for access you.

    Hey everybody,

I was running Windows vista professional for more than 2 years yesterday, I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled vista prof. (entirely new, different CD key). Everything works very well excenp for one thing - I had saved some of the programs and files on my external hardrive before formatting my laptop. Now, when I try to access these files I get the following msg-"cannot find the specified device, path, or file." You don't have permission to access them. ".
I am logged in as administrator.

Help, please. I reallly need the files.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey Jihirshu,

    It looks like permissions.

Try this on one of the files on the disk to see if it allows you to copy the files.

1 right click on the file, then select Properties
    2. click on the Security tab
    3. click on change, in the name box, type "Everyone".
    4. in the boxes next to the permissions below, put 'Total control' for everyone
    5. click OK, and then close the dialog boxes
    6. try to copy the file that you just modified.

If the works above, you must change the permissions on all the files you want to copy.  Normally, you can just highlight all the and follow the steps above to change the permissions on all files at the same time.

I hope this helps if you find my answer was what you are looking for, please do not forget to click on the box "mark as answer" below!

    Hello

    ·         Make sure you have this problem in safe mode.

    ·         Diagnose the drive in the search for errors

    ·         Make sure you have no virus

    Method 1:

I suggest to restore the system to the Windows recovery environment and check to see if it helps:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7

    Method 2:

Try to access the files in safe mode. You can click the link below to see how you can start in safe mode in Windows Vista.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 3:

Try to take permission of the drive in safe mode.

    (a) open your computer and right click on your hard drive.
    (b) go to Properties.
    (c) click Security.
    (d) click on Edit under a quote "To change permissions, click Edit."
    (e) click on Add.
    (f) typeeveryone"in the white box.
    (g) then check in the "total " box Control
    (h) press OK.

This makes the hard drive usable by everyone (all users and different computers)

  • I'm an admin, but I do not have full administrator permissions?

Recently, I deleted an administrator account on my computer and got an admin instead, due to the fact that I am the only user now. I keep trying to download something for a game in the Program Files folder, but when I try, it says that I need permission of the administrator. I also tried to make no read-only files, and I got the same thing in General. I needed the administrator permission to continue. It only gives me a place to put a password. The first message tells me that I need an admin approval and apply. The second problem (replacing the files read-only) tells me that I need admin permission to continue, then allows me to continue anyway but doesn't really change the files. I'M AN ADMIN! Is there a way to fix this? (This problem also happening before I deleted the account admin original.)

    Hello

You can try to fix it with Safe Mode - repeatedly press F8 as you bootup. The ADMIN account in trunk
Mode has no default password (unless someone has changed the password so it should be available).

To make another account with your same password - ADMIN upgrade - REBOOT (do not only closing session) and
connect that account - you can download to use it? (make two ADMIN accounts - one in case you
to migrate to it and another to test and difficulty).

It while in the new use of the account to LOWER your account regularly APPLY / OK to need - and then lift it up
Back to ADMIN - repeat several times - descent - go downstairs - raise - repeat. This helps to clean
corruption. Make sure that the account administrator.

Try your downloads into the new account. If the downloads work in the new account, then the former
account needs to be fixed, if possible, or it can be migrated to the new account.

If necessary later this is the process to fix a damaged account or migrate to a new.
