Maybe missing DVD driver

Hello! I have had my all-in-one Pavilion for almost a year now and discovered pretty quickly that it does not play the DVD or Blu - ray discs, despite saying that he should. I am able to play the music of dics with no problems, however. I don't think it's a big deal then, but now it's starting to upset me and I'd like to find a solution before the expiry of my big computers.

A quick search on google shows me this a fairly common problem, but none of the corrections suggested do anthing for me.

When I insert a DVD, it runs constantly and it seems he stops every 15 seconds before resuming. The disks never appear in my computer as a playable file and trying to force a media player to play the results by mistake. What I get behaves like a folder. I show a folder named VIDEO_TS full of unrecognized file types and a file named desktop.ini

I don't know what to do, this is the reading of the disc but used to play movies. Missing something?

If it's showing a VIDEO_TS, so it is read, at least partially, a DVD.  It could be the playback software is missing or damaged, or the disc is dirty or has failed.  To try the VLC Player for free.  If you really want to check the drive to be able to read a DVD, try Imgburn.  If you can get some info of the DVD with either people, report with the results.

  • Missing DVD drive Aspire 5733Z

I have an Aspire 5733Z with a DVD from Toshiba burner in it.  Running Windows 7 Home Premium.  It just stopped working when I started my diet this morning.  The keyboard and the trackpad had stopped working as well.  I used the F8 screen to restore to last good configuration.  It restored the keyboard and trackpad.  But my DVD burner does not work now.  I had before, used to run a live Linux CD and find the post on the forum who advised on the edge of good configuration was last used.

But as I was closing the live LINUX CD, he told me to remove the media from the drive and close it, as I did, then click on system restart, I did.  Once I got into Windows, keyboard and trackpad worked again, but now my DVD drive was not.  I did a google search and went to a Microsoft forum (you are bound to get good advice it right?) ) and I followed their instructions to go into the registry and remove a couple of values - carefully followed the instructions, so I know I have done this correctly.  That did not work.  Then I followed their next step if this does not work, even if I did wrong I think.  Rather than remove the driver, I deleted the DVD in the Panel.

When I realized what I did, I used the control panel to detect changes on the hardware and it reinstalled a driver of the engraver DVD Toshiba but I'm not sure that he reinstalled the right one.  He installed one for a Toshiba DVD-RAM burner, I don't think that this model supports RAM, so it's probably the wrong driver.

Can someone point me to the correct driver to install? Maybe help me to understand this mess? Understand why the DVD does not work?  Windows it is grateful, but the door does not open.  You can press the button on the door will not open.  Right-click on the DVD drive in my computer, and in the context menu you can click on eject - will not open.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

If anyone has this problem, try to reinstall your chipset drivers and remove the DVD drive and reinstall.  One or other of these things fixes this problem for me.

    Hello

You install a version of Win 7 retail or OEM manufacturer on your system?

I had the same problem. The fix was to get into the BIOS and change the RAID SATA emulation.

Doing so allowed installation of Win 7 to continue and install.

  • Satellite P305 - DVD drive missing registry method attempted

My satellite P305 lost the DVD icon in my computer.

So I tried to fix it by using the 'Register' method I have seen anywhere in the forums, but it didn't work as I have found a 'low' I don't think that the name but not the second registry value 'superior '. So now I can't use my PC DVD and I hope that I can reinstall the driver, although I doubt it.

The computer Troubleshooter said the problem is that the registry file is damaged or missing (before I tried to fix it). I had been using a burner and burn a DVD that took a lot of time to complete the level of 99%, so I clicked to close the program thinking that the information was already coded on the DVD and there is nothing for the program to do but stop, but it did not work and the program have remained frozen. The program I used was called Cheetah Burner, in case you are interested in knowing. So I ejected the disk (perhaps after control-alt-delete, not sure) and probably restart the computer again, to see that the program had taken place.

So please tell me how to deal with this, soon. I need to solve this young to continue working!

    Thank you

    Ash.

    Hey Ash,

I think you mean the upper and lower filters in the registry. Is this fair?
Normally, this should help about problems with the CD/DVD drive but you've already tried this?

In your case, I would try to remove the drive to CD/DVD in Device Manager (right click > uninstall). After the reboot the drive will be recognized again and maybe it works.
In addition, you n t need another driver because it s a part of the operating system. Updated this driver peut t.

Another interesting thin: you can boot from a disc?

  • Add/Remove components error and DVD driver error: Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Original title: Add/Remove components error and DVD driver error

Yesterday, I removed several components of windows to attempt to clean my cpu. After the reboot, I noticed that my DVD drive disappeared. I tried to update the driver but told me I have the most updated version, I uninstalled and reinstalled the drive, but I still get the same error. Under Driver Details, it shows that I have a lot of drivers for my Phillips DVD player. However, the status of the device is the following: Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. I've done the troubleshooting, and the two options has not fixed the problem.

Then I tried to add windows components that I removed, thinking maybe that was the problem. However, when I try to add them, I get an error message that says: 'Setup cannot copy the file zClientm.ex_' it shows the location of this file as being in windows/i386, and of course, the file is located in this folder. So when I go to browse to locate the file, I find and click on it to open it, but I keep getting the same error message that the file is not found and Setup cannot continue.

I realize that this problem seems very rare and weird, but any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • CD/DVD drive is not detected, the disc is missing or disconnected

Well I have not tried to play anything or anything either burning on my laptop in a while and all of a sudden is not working more I followed suggestions on the microsoft site, but when I went into Device Manager to check on my drive anywhere it lists same CD-ROM/dvd-rom I'm so confused, I don't know what I tried to use microsoft not fixed and it's just as stuck as I am all he tells me it is than its disconnected or missing and cannot be found.

Oh and while I'm asking questions my sound stopped working a few months back the small volume in the lower right corner icon has an 'x' next to him now and he says: no audio output device is installed, I tried following the suggestions online for this with no luck either. I hope that its not anything internal since I just had the motherboard replaced by a few months before this happened

Thank you very much I hope you can help!

    Hello

Well it still might be hardware or wiring.

Restart to make sure that nothing is inteferring with the process.

Step 1: Please make all underneath the same if you've done it before as it's often the total of the process which
    solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • The CD/DVD drive malfunction: one missing, the other does not work

My HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop running Vista, came with a CD/DVD drive that appeared as a reader of CD (e) and (f) HD DVD player, with the hard drive and windows repair partition C: and D:.  There, the E: drive seemed to have disappeared, and it is the reader who would access it when I put a CD to read from.  The HD player never worked to this end and of course now that I only have the "F:" drive, and it tells me to insert a disc, despite the fact that there is a disc in there.  And I have no idea of what I did.

I right click on the HD drive properties and go to the Hardware tab.  WDC (Buncha numbers) ATA device is listed as type of hard drives, and UTIHAX (even numbers) SCSI CdRom Device is listed as a DVD/CD-ROM drives drive (Yes, with the ').  Both work properly, according to the properties of the device.

I tried to disable and re-enable the it.  I tried to uninstall and allow the pilot to resettle.  Nothing doin ' sofar, so I was wondering if any of you have any other ideas I could try.

I'd love to hear them!  Let me know what you need.

  • CD/DVD driver damaged or missing. How to get the new driver?

After working well for 3 months my CD/DVD drive does not show in my computer.  It appears in Device Manager.  Display properties Drive watch Code 39 driver damaged or missing.  Try to update driver says driver is installed and up-to-date. Said driver driver search comes with Windows 7.  How to get and install a driver right?

    Hello

Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Follow these steps to remove corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

Start - type in the search box - find command top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

    sfc/scannow

How to fix the system files of Windows 7 with the System File Checker

    Then run checkdisk (chkdsk).

    ==========================================================

    After the foregoing:

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and the
correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

The recovery discs work very well, but I don't want to use

    Thanks for reading,

    Hi, James:

Most likely the media you use is incomplete or a bad burn to the DVD if you have the installation media of the ISO download on Digital River.

There is no missing drivers. W7 has all the drivers needed to install on your model.

Follow these instructions and see if you can get W7 installed in this way.

I would use the MS tool USB ISO.

Make sure you absolutely get the entire ISO file when you see the download complete message.

Sometimes, he reports the download is finished and your ISO file is a lot smaller that what he said was downloading.

Use the W7 pro product key you have.

Use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • Satellite L40 PSL48E - missing CD/DVD drive

    Hello

I can't find my CD/DVD drive. The driver is probably corrupted or missing (Code 39).
    What should I do?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

This problem is known to me and she related to the incorrect registry key.

First, you must remove the drive CD/DVD from the list of devices in Device Manager.
Then, you should access the registry and should remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Finally, restart the laptop and check the drive after Vista acknowledged again.

    Good bye
