McAfee Shredder

I try to install Norton 360 that my ISP is also, and when I go to download the screen says I need to uninstall McAfee Shredder.   I ran McAfee uninstall several times but nothing helped.  I ran PC optimizations, bought a registry cleaner, still no luck.  I don't think I even have Shredder when I bought my Dell computer, it must have been in the bundle came with the computer.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Windows Installer is trying to install Shredder, which is already installed by McAfee. How stop it?

I have Windows 7 (64), McAfee Internet Security, a desktop Acer AX3910-U4022.  Windows Installer is trying to install Shredder, which is already installed (verified by McAfee).  Windows Installer keeps trying without success to find Shredder.msi.

It is a recurring problem.  How can I stop it.  Microsoft takes back me to ACER for a fix

The application of Crusher that you are having trouble with seems to be part of the suite McAfee that you have installed.

Because McAfee tries to install the application either in full, or update the application, I'd first uninstall the application completely, then reinstall it if it's something that you would like to continue to use.

More information about McAfee Shredder is available on the website of McAfee.

  • BitLocker will work very well with grinding tools?

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and have encrypted a letter (partition) with Microsoft BitLocker volume.  I know that when 'unlocked', the volume is supposed to behave like a regular, transparent volume presenting its content on all the programs needed to run on these points. I want to know is that also true for the destruction of programs.

I realize there is no reason practice shred/clean content in an encrypted volume.  But there could be a problem when the shredding of the trash.

For example, a problem may occur when you use a shred tool (in this case, McAfee Shredder) to erase all the files in the Recycle Bin.  The tray may contain files located in the regular volumes, but also files in the protected volume.

The shred function works by crushing the "unused" sectors Since the protected volume contains some unknown format 'encrypted', rather than of common areas, BitLocker will be able to accept orders from the destructive tool of documents and wipe any data that is?  Or could it be an unintentional interaction in which other data could accidentally be corrupted or deleted?

I'd appreciate if anyone has any information on this subject.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forum.

Based on the information, it seems that you try to find out if the BitLocker will work with tools for grinding.

We suggest you to unlock drives and then use file shredder. If not used in the bitlocker encryption can conflict with that of the destroyer, which can lead to the creation of bad sectors and eventually corrupt our files in the particular drive.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • McAfee has identified BroweFox-FAD as potentially unwanted software, it is

McAfee seems to suggest that I have remove what he identified as a potentially unwanted program. It is part of the download of Firefox and OK or should I remove it. McAfee also means the same thing for a program called Multiplug.dll.gen.b. is this also part of Firefox?
Thanks for any help you can give on this subject

BrowseFox-FAD is not part of the installation of Firefox and should be deleted. It is the same for the Multiplug.dll.gen.b file.

  • Why not junk detector permanently delete suspicious mail rather than send it to the junk e-mail folder? SOLVED caused by McAfee spam controls

Recently, from a month ago or so, when I open Thunderbird and it connects to my ISP to download new e-mail messages, e-mails that the Junk detector "think" might be spam, these emails are deleted immediately permanently instead of being moved to my Junk folder, as I've mentioned Thunderbird in all options on how to manage junk e-mail. I know that there have been e-mails that were sent to me for the first time by a new friend or colleague whom I have not yet put in my contacts folder. In fact, I know an e-mail in particular when someone sent me his email address in the email that comes to be obtained permanently deleted. So if anyone knows what's happening here and what I can do to stop this behavior, I'd be very grateful all assistance. This time, to monitor the activity, I connect to my e-mail through my ISP account so I can examine what is in the Inbox ready to be downloaded in Thunderbird before you start Thunderbird. It is a nuisance, but is the only way I know for the moment to monitor all my incoming mail. Thank you!

Sorry for the delay in the publication... Disable McAfee spam controls solve my problem. All incoming messages marked as spam is successfully sent to my junk e-mail folder.

    Thanks for your help!

  • My mcafee security is labeled not signed, it is confidence nownot

the last update for firefox 40.0.2 I now see on the page Extensions that Mcafee Safekey and web Advisor to Mcafee could not be verified for use in firefox... They were both ok before the 40 version. Should I uninstall?

In the future, Firefox refuses to run unsigned extensions. In other words, if the extension was not signed by Mozilla, Firefox will be auto-blocking it. This will start in Firefox 41.

The first step being taken in Firefox 40 is simply to warn you that you have a few unsigned extensions, so you can check the updates and/or inform the Publisher of this impending problem. This does not have the extensions of the race.

McAfee will probably submit their extensions for Mozilla for signature before Firefox 41 is released in about 4 weeks. If they do not, they will have a lot of unhappy users! Or these users will discover extensions are not really doing that much.

  • The following extensions are always safe to use with Firefox? Yahoo toolbar, McAfee WebAdvisor & Skype click on call

I had these extensions installed since February 2015, when I bought my new computer. They always worked very well, but this morning I noticed that each say, «McAfee WebAdvisor/Skype Click-to-Call/Yahoo Toolbar could not be verified for use in Firefox.» Proceed with caution. All of these extensions have been download from their respective Web sites. Should I worry about this?

In the future, Firefox refuses to run unsigned extensions. However, the first step being taken in Firefox 40 is to warn you that you have a little so you can check the updates and/or inform the Publisher of this impending problem.

I'm sure that these three companies are aware of this change. What they need to do, is to submit their Add-ons for Mozilla for review and signature sometime before Firefox 41 is available and no doubt they will be.

If they are not, please complain to them!

I've seen a lot of reports wbout connection fails for the ssl_error_weak_server_ephemeral_dh_key. This happens to me on a website (municipal library) and ONE of my 2 machines of W7.
Does not work for W7/64 with McAfee and W7Pro
Succeeds on W7/64 with Avast and W7 Home Premium

Just started failing in the last 2 weeks.

I tried to read patches, but the information was sparse. I can get around a computer, but I don't know a lot about the structure of FF and I need a detailed method. More there are warnings about "dead ends". I go back to a single machine works and there is no. 39.0 running and parameters are the same, as far as I can tell - I even tried to analyze the troubleshooting information.

  • Is available for download from McAfee a part of download of Mozilla Firefox?

Quite quickly after downloading Mozill, a McAfee icon appeared on my home page and in my hard drive program files. I tried to uninstall that I saw nothing about this when I downloaded the program. A window appeared asking me my social security and a box number asking that I am hosting a new program to install. Is this normal or should I worry?

Have you downloaded Firefox from www.mozilla.org? If you downloaded it from anywhere else, it is possible that you have been infected by malicious software.

  • Why Thunderbird runs very slow on Windows 7 CAUSE: McAfee

Installed Thunderbird worm 31.6.0 on my desktop Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 32-bit, 4G ram, Intel i5 processor clocked at 2.66 GHz,
a few months ago and he ran very well in the beginning.
Now that I've used for some time it slowed considerably.
All Thunderbird functions slow clicking to select a group of messages, even deleting just one single message, opening a message, etc.
It has compact records on several occasions, and I did not have a large number of stored messages (maybe the total of all files, including waste, spam, sent, etc. is about 500).
I use McAfee Anit-Virus, which ignores analysis attachments to emails.

There were reports of slow performance with Thunderbird on Win7?
Maybe my problem is caused by McAfee?
    Ideas, suggestions are welcome,
