My Satellite L850-17F is overheating, but not always

• Machine Vista "frequently", but not always, ask user name and password to access the public folders on the XP machine.

  All 4 Vista computers were to access shared data on the XP machine for two years without problem.   To put a spanner in the works as I have said in this case "Frequently" and by that I mean probably 9 of the 10 connection attempts. Let's say, you can see the name of the computer in my network places, you double click it and have asked for credentials, cancel the attempt and to repeat 4 or 5 times and then you could get display shared resources without going into the details of connection. For a few minutes, you might be able to access all the shared data and to navigate through the folders, but then all of a sudden have asked you credentials and can not access to anything, even the files accessed you seconds before.

  Lets say you are able to access the shared folders, you navigate to the Parent folder, then under A folder, then a subfolder B, go back to A notebook, then try to access folder B even once and you get guest credentials, quit out of the network completely locations, navigate back to the XP via Network Places and this machine you not even be able to display all the shared resources on the XP machine.

  I've also set up a shared folder on a Vista machine with matching username and password on the machines and the Vista machine with the get the problem exactly the same problem so this definatley Vista machine with the question and not sharing files on the XP machine.

  Someone at - he met before or have any suggestions?

  You can check in the Analyzer for performance and reliability.

  Step 1:

  To start reliability monitor and performance monitor

  a. Click Start, right-click computer and click on manage.

  b. in the Microsoft Management Console navigation tree, click on performance and reliability.

  You can also try a system restore to a point before the problem started.

  I don't understand what exactly you want to know. All what I can tell you is, that Windows will recognize the converter series / parallel, but not the cable itself, because there is no active component.

  You will need to connect to a device such as a printer or something like that. These converters sometimes need specific drivers. Have you checked that they are installed correctly?

• Satellite L500D-11R - plugged in but not charging

  I had a Satellite L500D-11R windows 7 - its fine loads (light orange deep) when it is off, but when running, it will be reduced to an orange flashing light and will not load.

  Remove the battery and start your laptop with AC power only. When windows is fully loaded, put the battery in place.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite L850-A925 for 6 months. And I have this annoying problem with the webcam.
  I installed all the drivers and even when I turn on the webcam application, it gives no error.
  The only problem, I don't see anything on the cam on my side.
  Just a black screen with a few stripes of color around moving more and there.
  If please suggest me a good solution for this or is this a hardware problem?
  I had attached the screenshot of what exactly Iam get when I turn on the webcam application or other applications using the webcam (Skype, Oovoo,...).

  Please help me on this and I'm hoping for a simple and effective solution.

  Since when did you notice this problem? I can't imagine that it occurs on the first day.
  In the specifications, I found the info that this machine has been preloaded with Win7 64 bit. Everything is OK with the factory settings was after the first start?

  Easy solution? Everybody wants it but the problem is that on this virtual way in most cases we can only speculate what may be the problem.

  I'm helping a friend with a problem with its Satellite L850 - 1 5.

  No battery detected is report to Windows, and the light on the front of the machine of battery flashes orange slowly.

  I saw a few forums suggesting removing the power and the battery and holding down the button for 30 seconds. I tried a few times and seems not to have had any effect.

  Is there something that can be done, or is broken for good battery?

  If your laptop runs correctly but the battery is always on 0%, I assume that the battery is faulty and should be replaced.

  I have the same issue on my Satellite A300. Battery is recognized correctly, battery charge LED is orange (State of charge) but battery stays on 0%.

  Hello, I have an AMD 7670 m dedicated graphics card and when I install the AMD display drivers downloaded from the toshiba site, the Catalyst control does not start and he also seem to have problems with the usb ports and my wireless stops working for some reason any.

  Maybe stupid question now, but why do you need it? Have you been preinstalled OS with your laptop or you bought for laptop computer without an operating system preinstalled?

  Guess what?
  Disable encryption settings (WEP, WPA, etc.) and the password on your WLan router and test the connection for laptop.
  If you are able to connect the laptop to the router and can access the internet then Wlan problems are certainly linked to the incorrect encryption settings.

  If you are not sure how to change it, check the manual which should be assured of always with the Wlan router.

  Your motherboard is dead or one or two modules of memory are defective.
  If new modules of RAM don t help you, I guess that the motherboard must be replaced.

  You are able to use the laptop only with the power adapter plugged?
  If so, this would mean that the adapter is OK.

  Remove the battery and plug in the adapter again. If the same thing happens again I think you need new AC adapter.

• Satellite L300 booted on battery but not on power supply

  I have a problem that has developed with a computer for daily use about 3 months ago.

  When the computer is connected to power at startup, the computer starts at halfway in Windows XP with the first XP screen and then it sounds like the disk hard knocking and stops and then the screen stops and shakes with a lot of lines and bands in the screen and the distortion and the machine hangs.

  I must then hold down the power button and restart.
  I can then start it in safe mode.

  If I have the computer on the starter battery, it always starts normally and all is well.
  Once the computer all them booted up, I can then connect the power supply and run it all day.

  Any ideas why the machine hangs at startup when it is started on the power and no battery?
  I had plugged on many energy sources and even changed the power supply with another machine, and it still has the problem.

  I have loaded all drivers and the latest bios driver and display driver.

  In my opinion its definitely a hardware problem. The question is what part is affected.
  I think you should test another adapter.
  Abnormal power supply may cause these problems.
  Otherwise if the AC adapter isn't the troublemaker, I think that this failure of the only motherboard may cause this problem.
