Media Player data

I would like to know how can I save all the information that I added the MP over the years. information, I mean: ratings I gave titles, authors of lyrics that I added, albums, etc.

If you use MP3/WMA and keep my ratings stars as global ratings in files is checked in Options - library , WMP then most are already stored in the actual music files (with a few exceptions, like playing County and custom fields). So in most cases, just simply to save music files.

If you want to be really safe, you can also back up all the information of the library in XML format with the metadata Backup tool.

  • Windows Media Player Date out of sync with PC

I noticed that when I added "Date last played" a category on Windows Media Player, the date indicated changes 6 hours before midnight.  In other words, songs played before 18:00 (18:00) CDT show today date, while the songs played AFTER 18:00 (18:00) CDT have date of tomorrows as "Date last played."

It seems that the date in the database for the music is out of sync, but I can't find a way to fix it.  It's more annoying than anything else I want it fixed.

  • Library of Windows Media Player 11 is not displayed

I have problems to make my library is displayed in media player 11. I am running XP. I have a connected external hard drive that I use with all my music on it.  I have the HD shared to some people on a network, if that means anything. Suddenly the other day, my library files have disappeared. I can't add files to the library more and all those who have been monitored have disappeared.  I looked at on the basis of knowledge who told me to go running, launch, user profile, local settings, application, microsoft, media player data and delete the files from the database because they are corrupt. However, I can not delete this file because a message appears saying the file is in use and cannot be deleted. I have no other programs running when I do and I tried after reboot etc so I do not know which hangs on this file. Can someone tell me how to get rid of this file, then media player can rebuild the corrupted file? Or is there something else I should be doing or not doing? It's driving me crazy! I need my music! Help!

  • Is there a possibility that MusicBrainz can be added as a data provider for Windows Media Player

When you use Windows Media Player, I was hurt a lot to identify my music. A lot of music I have is not available in the Microsoft music meta service database. What gives? Would be nice if Microsoft could be added to their database. MusicBrainz is a big data provider for Windows Media Player and would make it easier for information about the available media. Data MusicBrainz are permitted in the public domain and some under Creative Commons (CC) license. I don't think that Rovi has a contract saying to Microsoft data to use. I can cite other data in addition to the AMG providers: Journal of CD Japan, CD newspaper China, ZACR DBS and feedback from users. I can almost guarantee you if Microsoft used the MusicBrainz data, Windows Media Player would be much easier for the Organization of the music. Data MusicBrainz are much better quality than WMP user feedback data.

  • Can't burn data DVD on Windows Media Player

So, the thing is, in the drop-down list on Windows Media Player, where it is supposed to be written 'CD or data DVD' in the 'Burn' section, there is only the option "data CD". Reading through the internet I can't find an answer on this error. First of all, I'm sure that my DVD drive can burn the DVD, I have a lot of DVD burned on other programs, but the Windos Media Player is the best option to save my music library prety and though I can use other programs that I wanted to use Windows Media Player.

PS: I don't have that 1 driver CD/DVD in my PC.

Except for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005...
Windows XP doesn't natively burn DVDs... you need third party software.

  • Windows Media Player 11 is not often day Date last played

I have a fairly complex auto playlist, but when I am using it and showing the "Now Playing" list, the column "Date last played" is not updated.

He used to update in the past, but now it is no longer made. Is there something I can do to recover this feature? While it worked, it was very helpful, because I could use the "Date last played" from time to time to what extent I had, if I pressed the stop and I wanted to restart here where I left.

With WMP 11 because my system is XP.

    1. Exit Windows Media Player.
    2. If you are running Windows XP, click Start, click run, type %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft and then click OK.

If you are running Windows Vista, click Start, all programs->Accessories->run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

    3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click delete on the file menu.
    4. Restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  • Windows Media Player 11 Date added function - please stop repeating the date for EACH file.

I have been using Media Player 9, decided to upgrade to Windows Media Player 11, and the only thing I can not stand on Player 11 is how it sorts Date added media files.  In Player 9 when I chose the column Date added, the program would list all the files on a given under a SINGLE date.  With Windows Media Player 11 it lists EACH file with a date so that instead of see Tuesday, December 14, 2010 once and then listing all of the files under it, I see Tuesday, December 14, 2010 about twenty times.  I download podcasts once a week and dump it on my phone, but it's a worry now.  Is it possible to stop Windows Media Player 11 to repeat the date again and again and force him to the date that the list only once?  Think back to Player 9.  Alex

    Hi Alex103,

It's design in Windows media player 11 and it is also included in Windows Media player 12.

However, you can uncheck this option, follow the steps below:

    a. open windows Media player

    b. right-click on one of the sorted column

    c. click Choose column

    d. uncheck data added

  • Windows Media Player 11 doesn't recognize a blank cd as a data cd a cd of music.

It is forbidden to burn a music CD.

Y at - it a setting I need to change? I have Windows Vista 64-bit.

    Hello

A data CD can be used to create music CDs.

Windows Media Player gives you the ability to burn three types of discs: audio CD, CD and DVD data.

    Data CD

Excellent choice if you have a lot of music and a car CD player that can play WMA files (the type of music file that most people have in their library). Also convenient to back up your media files.

    Content: Music, photos and videos

Maximum capacity: about 700 megabytes (about 8 hours of music)

Playback device: computers and some CD and DVD players. The device must support the file types that you add to the disc, such as WMA, MP3, JPEG, or Windows Media Video (WMV).
