Media Player - United Nations able to return to region 4 - Australia after having changed to region 1 US

I am unable to return to region 1 after having to change from region 4 to read a dvd for this region, why is there only a limited number of times, you can change a region?

How can I get the option back to region 1, installation is there, but the function is frozen or out of use, why is there only a limited amount of time you can do?

How can I get my Media Player to work again?

very angry. Help, please

Hello

1. what operating system is installed on the computer?

2. What are the changes remaining in the below mentioned location?

The functionality of DVD region does not belong to Windows Media Player, it belongs to the CD/DVD drive. It is the manufacturer of the device.

The limited number of changes is by design.

When you navigate to the following location, it gives you this caveat.

(a) open Windows Explorer, right click on the DVD drive.

(b), select Properties, select hardware;

(c)
Select the DVD drive, select Properties

(d) select DVD region

Warning: You can change the region a limited number of times.

After changes remaining reaches zero, you can not change the region even after reinstalling Windows or move the drive to another computer.

If the remaining changes are null, unfortunately the only thing you could do, is change the CD/DVD drive.

  • Windows Media Player and not able to remove the audio file from playlist

Song ghost Vista Windows Media Player 11 error

I have Windows Media Player 11 on a laptop Toshiba with Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 on it, and I have a problem with that I can not resolve at all. There's a song that is on my reading list that does not even exist. He has no title, author or album. No size file and it does not even exist on my computer at all. No matter how I try I can not remove it from the selection. I know that I can not uninstall and reinstall WMP11 from my system it is a program integrated with no option to do so, but because of this I see also very troublesome that a reinstall is the only thing I can think of now to remove it.

If anyone has any suggests how to uninstall this "ghost song", I'd be happy to try.

    Hi ClawMacKain,

This problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted.

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. click onStart, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then clickOK.

2 Select all the files in the folder, and then clickdelete on the file menu.
Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    3. restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. click onStart, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then clickOK.

    3. Select theMedia Player folder, and then click delete on thefile menu.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

You cannot view, add, or delete items in the library of Windows Media Player 11

  • When windows media player will be able to play blu - ray?

One might think that in the 21st century windows media player keep upward over time. Of course I can buy the software from someone else, but why should I?

    Hello

WMP 12 8 win not only will not play Blu - Ray, he will not play ANY type of file or DVD movie disc...

It is because of licensing issues, and the fact that you can buy the software, or more so... even get free... is one of the reasons for Microsoft to do this...

A lot of drives\burners of DVD\Blu-Ray includes a player with the drive for free, besides other part 3ed sources...

Media Center will play if on DVD for $10 extra...

  • Windows media player does not work as no driver DVD

Had to format drive (trojan) & reinstall Windows XP home. Now Windows media player does not work as no DVD driver download from Toshiba site?

    Hello

Usually the Windows media Player is not able to read DVD movies IF no plugins were installed.
To watch DVDs, you can use programs such as WinDVD or PowerDVD.
These programs are designed for the DVD play!

But you can also visit the Microsoft Web site and search plug-ins for Windows Media player.
Then you can download and install to play a DVD with WMP

  • How can I block Windows media player-all function or video?

OK, I have one of four newspapers-ons in my pc that is locked down pretty tight where the only thing I want to work is word processor (WordPerfect and starting Word version).  My teenage son has impulse control issues, which gives more access means that it is wandering and not on the task.  Theoretically, he likes to play music while working on school assignments (writing) on the computer.  The problem is that apparently in addition to the execution of music files already resident on our pc and external drive, he inserted DVD in the dvd player and movies run (secretly) that are played to use the features of Windows media player.  My preference would be to hell video functionality or the ability to use the DVD drive under this opening of session and leave the ability of audio file.  Is there a way to do this?

Alternatively, if I install another drive, can I block the video features of a different player and block the drive windows completely?

    Hi Akphoneguy,

We understand that you want to restrict your teenager using Windows Media Player to play the video file but without impact on music files. However, the feature that you are curious about is currently not available in Family Safety. It can only restrict the entire working application and not a specific feature within the application. If you think that restrict certain features of any application is a convenient feature to have safe family, we suggest that submit you it as a feature request to Microsoft who appreciates your comments and considers that the suggestion of a future versions. In regards to your idea to install a new drive and Windows Media Player blocking completely, as now, we have no information for the player who can perform the function you are looking for. We can only suggest what to look for any media player that may able to do using your search engine preferred.

  • Windows Media Player does not work on Windows XP.

I was still having problems with my windows live messenger I did a clean through my computer of viruses and and anything that may be damaged and then I let a friend 'fix' that believe him when he said he could. Windows Media Player worked well before he touched and now it will not respond the same way. I also use Firefox as my main browser, only then if someone else who uses the engine might be able to help or whatever at all for this player. He worked 5 hours trying to get it working right again, but eventually gave up. It also seems that all sites that I thought could help ended up being for vista or windows 7-8. windows media player doesn't work I have to do a lot of, click on this and that and then play. I want to just back to normal. thx for the advice

Original title: How can I fix windows Media Player so it will automatically play CDs or DVDsit stopped after I cleaned my computer.

Thanks for all these possible methods of fixing. We did in those 5 hours trying to make it work related things. my friend had installed all sorts of uprising "Tune Up programs (which I told him not to do so), but after he did this." It is when I have a few things that worked before orders also. as well, it didn't speed up my computer nor in any case. then after I uninstalled all his *, ran all cleaners and antivirus programs, cleaned the Vincent of cookies that have been in my wall of cookie and don't have a boot scan system. and then passed through a finger and put a cd in and I heard run and a list of options appeared with the selections as game cd on Media player so I high informed that clicks on the box on the bottom, saying always remember this clicked on ok. and easie peasie it worked. I remember now that the way back in 09 when I got this computer, this option is given then to so I do not know that are a little devil programs Sotah but thank the Lord that I found myself in the end fixing. Unfortunately, it was after I went to the community for help when I decided to give him another chance to just put a cd and see if I had to go through files and click on the media player, and then click in the list of play but I had that pain in the butt. I don't know if faith had anywthing to do with my luck but I prayed for help earlier and well I got it! Thank you for your time giving these great options of measures to take. may blessing come your way Lori

  • Windows XP Windows Media Player 11 won't burn Audio CD from Playlist but Windows Media Player 9 burn playlist

I'm trying to burn an audio cd using a playlist and the Windows Media Player built-in burning capability. I already went through the standard elements, changing CDs, shift etc.  The problem persists.

When I try to burn an audio cd from a playlist I get the following message "windows media player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk"

I uninstalled Windows Media Player 11 and it is reverted to the version 9, version 9, I can burn audio CDs without problem and they play.

OK, I GOT AN UPDATE, these WMA files are sitting on a shared folder on a server.  Windows media player 9 is able to burn them without a problem. Windows Media Player 11 cannot until I have copy the files to the local disk.

Until Windows Media Player 11 changes forcing him not to work?

    Hi SupportTech2010,

    Method 1

Check if the problem persists in mode safe mode with network mode and post back with the details.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Method 2

If the problem does not persist in mode safe mode with networking mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. Click Start , and then click run.
    2. Type msconfig , and then click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears.
    3. Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

    Method 3

If the previous step fails, then I suggest that you create a network drive in Windows and check if it helps.

  • Windows media player that gives poor quality (Fuzzy, bands)? (Windows 8)

    Hey, guys.

I want to just pass this along to someone who is having problem with Media Player in Windows 8.

Windows Media Player fuzzy or banded?

You can do as well in Windows 8.

Also, if you have Windows 7, you can also follow these steps.

First of all, let's try this.

    • Go to the start menu and type features that should appear "programs and features" options > select it.
    • Then, on the left, select the option that says "Turn Windows features on or off".

    Should look like this:

    • After that, a box should appear. Select the Plus sign (+) next to the option that says "multimedia functions".

Then make sure and uncheck the box next to Windows Media Player

Now, a box appears, press Yes.

After that you click Yes. Reboot the laptop.

Once the laptop has rebooted, you will need to return to the same settings, then check the same box unchecked you earlier.

Once that's it try again using Media Center.

    Hope it will be useful.

  • When using Media Player Classic, can not find DVD

When I try to play a dvd with media player classic, I got an error message saying cannot find DVD

    Hello yoyo2,.

    1. you have the same problem when you try to open the files with Windows Media Player?

    2. does this problem occurs during playback all DVD with Media Player classic or any particular DVD?

This problem can be caused if the Media Player classic is able to play the DVD and does not support the file on the DVD format. Check the format of the files you are trying to play on the DVD, because it might have associated with missing codecs in Media Player Classic. Also, let us know if you have the same problem with Windows Media Player.

  • VOB files don't play no not in Windows Media Player

I have several DVD that have been copied to my hard drive.  When attempting to open the .vob files, I use Windows Media player.  WMP opens, then closes while PowerDVD DX opens.  Nothing happens at this point.  Looking through the forums and search on the internet I can't find a solution that works.

    Hello jtrall, welcome.

It seems that WMP (Windows Media Player) is given to the task of playing the. VOB to PowerDVD files because of several possible reasons:

1 PowerDVD is set as default program for reading VOB file
2 WMP cannot find a proper way to play the VOB file
    3. missing Codecs or other program incompatibilities

In order to diagnose the problem and find a solution, we will need to know:

1A Windows Media Player never been able to play the VOB files before?
    2. what version of Windows Media Player are you running?

You should be able, as a temporary workaround, use PowerDVD as the DVD playback software. If you start PowerDVD, and then click File > Open (or something similar) you will be able to select the source of the DVD files that are VOB files stored on your computer.

Send us the above information and we can go from there

    Thank you!
