    Hello

    I have the laptop above that was dumped on its edge causing the hard drive to the jam and fail.
    This means no access to the system recovery, so I ordered arvato shop Toshibas Recovery Media recovery media.

    I installed a new HARD drive has slipped into the recovery disc and boom, no bootable media insert system disk.

    I tried the disc on other laptops, same thing, with no bootable media, but back to arvato who kindly sent me disks replacement... you guessed it... exactly the same thing so I put in my windows 7 install cd and it read the disc properly.

    Arvato said they asked toshiba to check the image which they did and found no errors, but the stock of arvato could be faulty, I thought. in any case, they offered a refund which doesn't really help.

    I may be missing something so this post hoping tosh guru of you might be able to help :)

    Thanks in advance,

    Night...

    Hello

    Maybe the image is OK, but the CD/DVD drive cannot read the disc of Arvato.
    What you could do is to copy this recovery disk to another disk using another computer.
    Then you could try to start the device using the new disc copied.
    May be worth a try.

    In addition, you can try after workaround:
    Go to BIOS and check secure boot settings and the boot mode.
    What are the settings appear in the BIOS?

    I m application because you said you could boot from Win 7 disk, in this case secure boot must be disabled and the boot mode must be set between UEFI and MSC mode.

    In case you want to install Win 8 secure boot must be enabled a UEFI should be used

    There are other products that will allow you to create an image of the hard drive. Macrium, for example, has a free version that will allow you to do.

    http://www.Macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

    In 10 of Windows, you can create a custom refresh image. the image of custom refresh allows you to copy the disk hard drive will allow the current settings and software. You will be able to use Windows Update at will when you have a question that doesn't create problems that do not allow you to boot into the operating system.

  • The media recovery disk creation

    I failed to create a recovery disc for my new HP PC 700-327c.  The training video shows that under "All programs" the Recovery Manager or HP Support Tools & has a link with the media recovery process.  None appear in all programs.

    How can I create recovery discs or a USB Flash for this PC drive...

    I am happy that they will send you recovery disks.

    Only 2 reasons why this can happen are:

    A. a person has already made or attempted to create the recovery disks

    B. some virus or program contaminated recovery partition functions.  This is the most likely cause.

  • Why the Media recovery is necessary once a data file is brought back to fashion online?

    Hi DBAs,

    Consider the following scenario:

    Offline data file:

    08:09:38 coredev > select status, name from v$ datafile where name like '% UNDO4% ';

    NAME OF THE STATE

    ------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4 ONLINE. DBF

    08:09:47 coredev > alter database datafile ' F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4. DBF' offline;

    Database altered.

    08:09:58 coredev > select status, name from v$ datafile where name like '% UNDO4% ';

    NAME OF THE STATE

    ------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    RETRIEVE F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4. DBF

    08:10:02 coredev > select * from v$ tablespace where name = "UNDO";

    ENC FLA BIG TS # NAME INC.

    ---------- ------------------------------ --- --- --- ---

    UNDO 33 YES NO YES

    Data file online:

    08:10:53 coredev > alter database datafile ' F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4. DBF' online;

    ALTER database datafile ' F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4. DBF' online

    *

    ERROR on line 1:

    ORA-01113: file 21 needs media recovery

    ORA-01110: data file 21: ' F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4. DBF'

    08:11:04 coredev > recover datafile ' F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4. DBF';

    Complete media recovery.

    08:11:13 coredev > alter database datafile ' F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4. DBF' online;

    Database altered.

    08:11:49 coredev > select status, name from v$ datafile where name like '% UNDO4% ';

    NAME OF THE STATE

    ------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\CD\UNDO4 ONLINE. DBF

    Now my doubt is:

    1.Pourquoi Media recovery is necessary once a data file brought to online from offline mode?

    2. why DB not open and throws the error message after brining online of offline?

    3. Why is he asking for recovery of the media?

    I'm very confused...!

    Kind regards

    Ritu

    In order to make the UNDO4 data file. Coherent DBF with other UNDO tablespace data files, when you bring it from OFFLINE to ONLINE, the changes that happened during the period offline needs to be applied to this data file hence it is requires media recovery.

    It is directed by my understanding.

    Yes, you can do it. But to allow the return of flame, you must have your database in editing mode.

  • Test system update fails on ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery

    I use Oracle 9.2.0.6 on HP - UX (B.11.11)

    I'm refreshing to a test of production on the same server system.

    The update fails on...

    ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
    ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
    ORA-01110: data file 1: ' / elltest/system/system_01.dbf'

    I do mainly:
    -Place prod tablespaces in backup mode
    -Copy the files from production to test directories
    -Take prod tablespaces out of backup mode
    -pass the prod (once for each newspaper group) log files
    -copy files from archive prod to test

    STARTUP NOMOUNT

    Create control file from a copy of the prod trace file
    (CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE SET DATABASE 'ELLTEST' RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG)
    It works

    RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE
    -J' I grab the last log archive copied during production.

    ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
    ERROR on line 1:
    ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
    ORA-01110: data file 1: ' / elltest/system/system_01.dbf'

    I think I have I have all required log archiving prod?

    Any advice?

    What you're trying to do is an incomplete recovery of the database. Since the redo logs are not used in your recovery you must explicitly specify the time to stop. If you do not process assumes a complete recovery and will require a request for reinstatement of online recovery log data that you do not.
    You can use UNDO based recovery with
    RECOVER DATABASE UNTIL CANCEL USING BACKUP CONTROL FILE;
    then type CANCEL after the last active log has been applied.
    Open with option RESETLOG database. It should work.

    Thank you...

    Hello

    You must add the disk to the /oracle file system. It seems that there is not enough space to extend the data file.
    After the addition of disc, you can restart the recovery with:
    ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY BASE DISCONNECT FROM THE SESSION.

    or

    You can move your data undotbs2_01.dbf file to another file system that has enough space, that
    ALTER system set standby_file_management = manual scope = mΘmoire;
    change the database file rename ' / oracle/folder/undotbs2_01.dbf' to ' / new_fs/undotbs2_01.dbf ';
    ALTER system set standby_file_management = auto scope is mΘmoire;.

    then start the recovery.

  • Media, recovery waiting for thread 1 sequence (in transit)

    I have rebuilt our standby database using rman double since it lacked many newspapers of archiving.

    After the double, the eve is now almost in sync with the primary. The Marbles that ship through, but are not implemented in a timely. How long should wait to a journal of the Archives of the primary to be applied to the waiting?

    I need to know this so that a good script can be configured to check the primary and standby. For the moment, that they are never exactly synchronized - sequence always one behind the primary number.

    Why is Eve does not have in a timely fashion?

    Hi check MRP starts or not?
    database principal that you must not check the current sequence, generated check last sequence... not common sequence.

    current sequence is redo log, which has not yet been archived

    I think that everything is perfect here... no problems.

    Hope you understand, I would like to know if it is not explicit, thank you.

  • How oracle will come to know weather it is recovery of Instance or Media Recovery

    How to know initially weather oracle's recovery of Instance or Media Recovery

    Oracle will make recovery Instance automatically, and I know that the process

    But how it identifies the weather it's Instance or Media Recovery recovery

    There is no recovery Instance during the START-UP phases and the MOUNT. Instance recovery is the opening time.

    Check the log of alerts of your database where you did a cover of the Instance (for example after a kill or reboot or shutdown abort) and see where appear messages of recovery of instance- after the ALTER DATABASE MOUNT is completed.

    You can STARTUP NOMOUNT with no present controlfiles.
    You can RIDE with no current data files.
    It is OPEN only which checks the data files.

    Controlfiles are never "found". They are either manually, restored or created by the DBA.

    Note: Instance recovery is called "crash recovery" in the alert.log file

  • How the media recovery is possible in this case?

    Hi Experts,
    OS: Windows 2000 Server.
    DB version: 10.2.0.1

    BONE broke down due to power problem. I restarted the operating system and it started with questions. But in the alerts log, I found the following message appears when oracle tries to open the database.
    ERROR on line 1:
    ORA-01113: file 6 needs media recovery
    ORA-01110: data file 6:
    ' D:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\TEST\ES_PRODUCTION1. DBF'

    It's just a database test and no with no backup archivelog mode at all. Once again, I see this message I thought to drop the tablespace that contains 6 data file and create the new tablespace and then import it with the data, I'll have the dump of the export of this tablespace.

    But before you do something, for a test, I just published
    SQL > restore database;
    SQL > alter database open;
    And to my surprise she succeed to open the database on all issues and the DB works now normal.

    But I want to know how oracle perform media recovery when there is no backup of the BD at all with the DB in no archivelog mode.

    Entries of your experts are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you all...

    You have recovered the database using the redo data available in online redo log. You were lucky that you got all the necessary data for recovery within redo log.

    Kind regards

    I can't find it in the documentation of oralce.

    Hello

    Yes you are right, for the recovery block media, you must have full rman backup. Incremental backups are not used by block
    media recovery. Only full backups and archived logs are used.

    See this doc on part III

  • Satellite C650, media recovery fails after replacing HARD drive

    I have a 3 years C650, and the HARD drive has failed. I got a replacement drive and sorts to recover from the recovery media disks that I created and although he claimed to have re - partition the drive and reinstalled windows, windows startup fails when tried to configure the devices "could not configure windows to run on this hardware.

    After this error, the boot sequence goes into an endless loop, asking to start the installation procedure.

    Thinking that my records may have been corrupted, I ordered a set of Toshiba recovery disks. Once again, these go through the recovery process and still once, Windows startup does not exactly in the same place.

    A little annoying to have spent £30 for nothing.

    I have a picture of Windows system on my external HARD drive, but I can't get the machine to a point where it will actually start so I can recover from that.

    Any suggestions on how to proceed is welcome!

    Thank you
    Martin

    Hello

    Of course, this isn't a problem of recovery disk.
    I guess there is a problem with the HARD drive but I n t think that the HARD drive has failed I think there is a problem of setting

    First, you should go to BIOS and check if the SATA set to AHCI.
    Then you should also format the HARD drive again.

    I recommend to use the freeware tool called GParted. You could create a live USB stick bootable flash memory which will allow you to start the unit and start GParted tool.
    Format the HARD drive, and then create a partition.

    After that, take the recovery disk and start the recovery procedure.
    Good luck

    Toshiba NB200 part number PLL28A-007012. (Windows 7 starter edition)

    Using Recovery Media Creator of Win7 and written to a Sandisk Cruzer Titanium 8 GB USB drive.
    The Recovery Media Creator works and completes the task without mistakes.
    After you change the USB boot first sequence, the PC starts on the 8 GB USB key and almost immediately stops and it shows on the screen:

    Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem:
    1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
    2. choose your language setting and then click "next".
    3. click on "repair your computer."

    If you do not have this disc contact your computer manufacturer or sys admin.

    File: \Boot\BCD
    Situation: 0xc0000225
    Info: An error occurred trying to read the boot configuration data.

    I tried using the Recovery Media Creator twice on the same USB drive with the same result both times.
    The USB has been emptied before each creation.

    So, the problem is, the USB recovery media does not start because of the error 0xc0000225.
    Could someone please offer a solution to this problem?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    I've never tried the recovery from a USB key, but you can try another? Maybe the stick isn't compatible

    From my own experience, I can say that not all DVD media are compatible. I made good experiences with 1-2 manufactured products.

    By the way: you can try the recovery of the DVD?
