    Hello.

    2 questions:

    1. we are working on an application that requires the user to connect. Will be used only by people with access to an instance of Eloqua. I wonder if it is possible to allow users to connect with their Eloqua user credentials?

    2. can I I attach an activity to a user account existing Eloqua - e.g. E-mail creation or transfer of data made through the API? If so, where can I find documentation on this?

    Hi Adam,.

    In regard to your first question - you can use Eloqua as an authentication source using the name of user and password provided by the user to make a very basic API call (IE. ListEntities).  If retrieve you data from the API, then the user is valid.  If there is an error returned, he will probably be one of two problems: a) the name of user and password supplied were invalid, or b) the name of user and password provided was valid, but the user has turned on Eloqua API permissions.  The error of the Eloqua API will allow you to determine which scenario is. You need to perform some sort of management session in your application to associate a session active Eloqua credentials and of course make sure that all course - is any form accepting Eloqua credentials must be secured by SSL, and any API call you make must be made via an SSL connection.

    Your second question is closely linked to the first - if you are using credentials Eloqua as the sign - it for your application, then these credentials should be used as authentication to Eloqua API calls.  In doing so, you will bind the activities performed by the API so that the user - for example, create/modify emails, creating/editing contacts, etc.

  • Is it possible to synchronize the SFDC and Eloqua users?

    I know that I can create an automatic synchronization to download SFDC users; However, it is not a user Table in Eloqua (Eloqua customer s US have access, in any case). I guess it's impossible?

    This would be really useful for the creation of new sellers in Eloqua on the fly, their updating, deletion, when they left, etc.. With Salesforce.com being the registration system, this reduce manual processes, clean the data and effectively enable and disable users. Still, this would allow Signature rules for customization of Email to bring more quickly.

    We are of course we can not synchronize users? I created in an AutoSync yesterday and noticed the ability to import into a table "users" Eloqua. Here's the Eloqua dashboards and not Salesforce ones (Contact, company, Outlook, data cards, etc.). See the screenshot below...

  • newbie on Eloqua user interface questions

    Two quick questions:

    (1) is there a setting that would allow me to change the width of the left column navigation in Eloqua.  A lot of our structure was created with long file names and I have constantly to scroll to the right of the column to see the full file name.  I'd like to be able to increase the width of the navigation in the left column, so I don't have to scroll to the right all the time.

    (2) is it possible to open different sections of Eloqua in a new tab or a new window?  Click right don't open in a new tab or a new window.  In SFDC, you can unlock different sections in a new tab, so I can go back and forth between the two areas.  Is there an easy way to go back and forth between two different modules Eloqua?  Example, if I'm in the management/Contacts/groups Evaluate / database, go somewhere else and then want to go back to where I was, I have to click several times to return to the management/Contacts/groups Evaluate / database.

  • Synchronize the Table Users with user Table SFDC Eloqua... has anyone done it?

    We can now use autosync integration to new downloads and update existing users of Eloqua that exist in the Salesforce.com user Table. I built a proof of concept to do this, so that SFDC is the system of registration of data of rep because I've been in a situation where marketing updates users eloqua for customization and data does not match what exists in salesforce, duplicate efforts...

    In any case, here are some of the complications that I find so far:

    The key identifier Unique to the Eloqua user Table is the 'User name' field and cannot be changed (his knowledge actually not yet public, I had to find out the hard way) that it should really be, e-mail address. According to Eloqua, the username is "firstname.lastname", "Nick.McGirr" would be my username Eloqua.

    1 Salesforce.com User Table does not have a username like that field. Your team of DEV SFDC will probably have to invent one that will take the first name and family name and create "first.last" on a new field to map to for your autosync.

    2. here's the real question, what does Eloqua if the company of enterprise-level and has a handful of John Smith of sellers? Do I need to say to the SFDC DEV team to make 'John.Smith1', 'John Smith2' and 'John Smith3'? What is the convention of naming of duplicates?

    We have done that... and implemented the exact logic you mentioned... with minor twist... take the first name, last name and add the ID unique company Emp in a field and operate as username for Eloqua. You can even add

    In the profile, there is an option to add your Salesforce user code. Since we have already synchronized with Eloqua SFDC, what are the additional benefits of this feature?

    With the user ID SFDC put up-to-date on Eloqua user registration allows you to display the full name of the user in the history of the SFDC activities. This is particularly useful in Eloqua Engage. If you configure external calls synchronize Eloqua to SFDC emails, and you have SFDC ID of the user updated in Eloqua users, name of the sender of the email appears in history of the activity.

  • Double post of form data in Eloqua and SFDC

    Our SFDC admin wants to move to display all form both Eloqua and SFDC data, and to make the list of all imports in SFDC. His team has already found the 3rd party systems to counter problems of duplication in SFDC de-duplication. As Eloqua user, I find the process of taking a step backwards in our marketing automation process. Any of you have experience with dual signage? Reasons for or against it?

    Although it is possible with a re-post form I would advise against. I had similar discussions where people are not familiar with the benefits of an integrated between Eloqua and SFDC flow.

    The biggest limitation for me is that Web-to-lead in SFDC cannot accept as 500 prospects in a 24 hour period (out of the box he used to 500 per day, you can increase but at a cost)

    I would try to understand the concerns importance than what does Eloqua is just a call API with SFDC (pretty standard stuff and more robust than the Web-to-lead). Looks like they care about duplicates. Watching the process today - are you creating a new every delay of performance, or you are only creating a lead when a contact does not exist (this will reduce dupes, but can give you others challenges in terms of visibility of these contacts - depends on the appearance of your sales team in call lists.) If they use only lead views, could be a problem).

    List of imports - this should be good. Many SFDC admins using tools such as PeopleImport to handle the loads list and can manage settings to avoid duplication, do not create a lead when a contact already exists, etc.

  • Budget Management - Eloqua marketing

    As Michael Kopp has done in the past, I'm testing a potential demand (m - l) on of the Topliner.  Let me know how ridiculous, you think it is!  BTW.  I heard clearly state of Eloqua Senior as "Eloqua is not a MBM tool and has no intend to be the" can I have heard that a month ago, but which is not questions for me.  Im going to keep asking.

    Request to support Eloqua Marketing Budget management.

    1. An additional tab in the campaign settings capture
      • dates with a greater depth (cmpn start/end, statement of the dates of beginning and the cuttof, dates in. has been raised and consumed, start and closing date for acceptance of stakeholders)
        • dates not only, but the ability to measure internal and timestamping cycle time (time in State xx)
      • amounts of $$$ investment partners: think of this as a list of choices, where options include 'spend buckets': partner MDF Plan/actual, real/Mktk program Plan, specific campaign plan/actual (books white, sem, testimonials, webinars, etc.).
      • Maybe an additional tab (or layer) in the middle of camp, showing the requested amount consumed vs, #associated po #s, contact details of the seller, owner budget info (associated: integrate the contact information of the seller.) Quelque_chose different, easy to address)
    2. The ability to place/view/align campaigns in multiple models [view by a. region, b. spend, c. Conversions, bang more high e., 5 the lowest cost...], it could be interpreted as allowing the structures of expandable files for campaigns, programs, models, etc..
    3. Added value.  Threshold alerts. Simple alerts config for the leadership that the objectives of investment/expenditures are 'at risk' or "Maxim Performance".  Something that says "Hey J, this pipe might be leaking.  Check it out! »
    4. Change of paradigm? Budgets as separate unique objects, with links to campaigns, programs, lps, active, forms, content etc.  As opposed to the current arch, which I believe only has budget fields on the object of the campaign.  I don't really know the ERD.  It's just how I see it.
    5. All the required synchronizations for happy healthy CRM integration & & integration of Insight.  WRT to Insight, there are the usual caution need to have the "usable" data for reporting.  Would be really nice working MDX!

    MktOp'rs would be happy if we could get our paws on these data for reports, within our Elq instance.  I would very definitely. From there on, I think that everything would be in place for an intuitive journey in Mktg Budget Mgmt.

    If this business process has been truly supported in Eloqua, natively, my desire to...

    • looking outside the seller tools, APIs, services, or to
    • create a solution of kludgy with custom fields campaign, including the awkward foreign key relationships

    ... decreases significantly.

    There are other issues to consider: change of acceleration, meetings of stage, compile, test, documentation user, change process documentation, deployment, QA, Workflows, UAT, UAT, training teams, etc.  No reason to not work seriously in the wings, while the architecture is established (or built!) by a small team.

    Finals.  I am confused on how to evaluate investment, overall marketing, everything, thick-Tech white papers for Brochures fantasy w/quote of day; Cost of running a team of operations, Vs cost of Production and QA in Pune? Return on cost of Dreamforce? Effectiveness of the roadshows. and how to manage the partner MDF with grace and financial responsibility dilemma (and son of string).

    I like how you described carefully your requests to find out where their maybe some Eloqua gaps for management of the marketing budget. For many of your points above, software Allocadia (partner appcloud) connects to Eloqua to offer the functionality of your applications noted above, such as:

  • Creating activities of Marketing in Eloqua 10 via API

    There are currently (or planned) a way to use the API to add marketing to a contact of Eloqua?  If so, is it true for "known" (e.g., where there is a known email address) as well as unknown contacts/leads in Eloqua?

    There are no immediate plans to add to the REST API marketing activities; However, there is work undertaken to support the activities of non-Eloqua (user-defined) in a later version (later this year / possibly in early 2013).

  • Web beacons in the upper part of the little professional aspect emails

    In the recent Eloqua update (473), the following change is made:

    " Web beacons have been moved to the top of your emails. This increases the chance that E-mail open appear accurately on enamel rather than when the tracking pixel was inside. »


    Now, whenever a player opens one of our emails, there is a picture of a broken image displayed at the top of the email that disappears after a second.


    This looks really unprofessional!

    What makes it worse, is that the decision to make this change was founded around to help open more precise statistics... but the value of 'open' is dubious at best. This seems to have been a decision taken by the IT Department... not someone who knows nothing about marketing.


    I know that I'm not the only person who wondered about this change.


    What are other Eloqua users?


    What are the chances that this can be turned off / give us the option where the image of follow-up should be placed?

    It seems that the emergency fix applied yesterday (at least to POD3) have now resolved this issue.

  • Select the checkbox when redirect (for pages not linked)

    I was wondering if I can get feedback from some Eloqua users at the time select the checkbox redirect (for pages not linked) for hyperlinks.  Our IT tells us that we should always select him even, the page is already followed (i.e. we Eloqua tracking code in our site site Web, community and business blog).  Not sure if this will create no damage always select this check box for pages followed and not chained.  I don't know if the link points to a form, so that the field auto complete with contact data, we cannot choose the redirect box, otherwise the data will not be automatically fill.

    We always recommend customers follow all the links also well - there is nothing wrong with it and it ensures that everything is tracked in your reports.

  • Not traceable forms?

    I wonder if there is a way to create a form so that it will send data to Eloqua, but does not associate the e-mail address entered with the IP address of the computer used to send the form? I'm trying to find an easy way for some of our sales employees who aren't Eloqua users to communicate the names of the customers for me so that they can be added to a list of marketing and campaign. I don't know if this is even possible. Is there a code I can add to the form or landing page in order to ensure that Eloqua don't think that computer sales agents is the customer, entry of form data? I don't want Eloqua thinking that a customer is having a lot of activity on the web when it is really the online sales agent looking around. Thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

    You can add a hidden field to your form: elqCookieWrite = 0. This indicates Eloqua does not to associate the profile visitor to the issuer of the form for the registration of contact Eloqua.

  • Manage selection lists - how import/load a Select lists?

    Hi Eloqua users,

    I created some forms as im having to locate in other languages.

    I have our forms we have couple of select lists that I'm going to locate too. One of them is a list of selected countries.

    Is there a way to uplod or automatically import a selection lists?

    Any country that SELECT lists is available in other languages that I could import?

    I try to avoid editing a whole list :-)

    Certainly, you can download a list of selection without having to manually enter each value.

    E9 if you go to automate > forms > Forms tab you can then click the Menu n forms manage and then select manage lists. You can create a new list or select an existing one. In the menu select list in the upper right corner, you can select Upload select list and follow the wizard to the process. You will have a column for the value (the value that is stored on the contact record) and the name (this is what is displayed in the drop-down list of the select list.

    E10 you can go to settings > select manage lists and follow the same procedure as described above. You can create a new list or select an existing one.   • Rules signature on landing pages?

    I have a few questions about the rules of signature and page layouts.

    First of all, the signature rules are always related to the Eloqua users?  If you have a system with hundreds or even an umpteenth vendors where you want to use signature page layouts, is it necessary to add all of these vendors as users?  I know that Eloqua helped upload signature mappings in large quantities (see this page), but I do not know how this relates Eloqua users.  And, if the signature rules are always related to users, is it possible to add new users in bulk?  I ask this question in the context of an application that is not a CRM integration.

    Second, it is possible to use page layouts of signature or the rules on landing pages, for example to show the name, address and photo sales person contact?

    Signature rules - they are only used to deploy the emails from a particular sender... the sender must be a user in your database, eloqua... these go with email sending only and cannot be used on landing pages... you can always download the users... settings--> all upward--> users-->, click users, next to the bar to get started... Select users to download/update... here, you'll have a sample file with formatting required to use in the download process...

    signature layouts - these are similar to the CDA, but will merge the data of the registration of the user of the sender... data being merged are defined by the registration of the user of the shippers (so these a little need to be used in tandem with signature rules) and on e-mail only...

    However, you can use domain merges with information rep on emails and landing pages...
