Memory at 800 mhz PC2-6400 ddr2 at 667 mhz

I have the 800 mhz cpu T9500 in the Pavilion dv9700 laptop. I don't have the options in the Bios to change the speed of the memory, although it seems that the memory is clocked at 800 mhz and 667 mhz not. Does anyone know how to change this?

Hello:

That is right.

The mobile version of intel of the 965 chipset runs only the memory at 667 MHz and the desktop version of the 965 chipset running at 800 MHz memory.

A little known fact, but it is what it is.  See page 12 of the datasheet below.

Given that my laptop came with ddr2 800, why not work natively at this frequency?

Perhaps a future update of the BIOS will solve this problem.

As far as I know the speed of the FSB is not editable and there is nothing you can do to force the RAM modules to work with faster speed.
Same BIOS update will not help you change anything.

    Hello

The laptop supports Intel® 945 GM chipset.
This chipset supporting 533 MHz max.
So if you plug in modules of memory 667 MHz, the system would still works at 533 MHz.
The modules are DDR2 so I put t see any reasons why the dual channel does not work in your case.

    > On the HARD disk, what is the maximum capacity of the HARD drive that I cannot in stall in the same model because I have 1 TB, so it will work?

Laptop supports the SATA interface. The SATA controller has no limitation to the size of the HARD drive, so, theoretically, you should be able to use this large HDD but to be honest; I've never used this large HDD. The largest that I used in by cell phone was 500 GB and it was big enough.
However, you will need to test b e100% sure.

  • Can I replace the memory and not lose what is on the old memory for a Mid 2007 Mack computer desktop Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHz processor speed, 1 CPU, 4 MB of Cache L1, the 4 GB memory at 800 MHz bus speed.  Only 1 slot can play memory, the other is damaged

Can I replace the memory and not to lose what's on the memory of the former?  I have a Mid 2007, 20 "desktop Mac, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHz processor, 1 CPU, 4 MB L2 cache, 4 GB of memory, 800 MHz bus speed.  I have a backup device.  A RAM slot is damaged.

You are confused of RAM and disk space available.

RAM stores information temporarily while the Mac is enabled and the application is reached. RAM replacement has no effect on the long term of your information storage.

The hard drive is where your information is stored in the long term. If you replace your hard drive, you need restore the information from a backup.

FYI, for your iMac, the maximum RAM is only 6 GB.

  • Anyone using DDR2 - 800 MHz PC2 - 6400 RAM on a Dimension E520?

    I have a 8-y-o Dimension E520 with a CPU Q6600 and 4 GB of RAM PC2-5300 DDR2 - 667 MHz.

Max RAM is 8 GB so I did research what type of RAM would maximize the expected gain in speed.

According to this articleand this one as this thread of Dell, the E520 can accept RAM PC2-6400 DDR2 - 800 MHz.

In addition, in accordance with this sheet of Intel chipset 965 on the motherboard will have DDR2-800 MHz RAM.

I have noticed however that a sweep Crucial suggested DDR2-667 PC2-5300, like upgrading RAM later.

By no means discouraged, I advanced and bought 4 sticks of 2 GB of RAM DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Non ECC Unbuffered of 240 pins.

Then, installed the new RAM and started in the BIOS. Of course, the 8 GB of RAM is recognized.

Then started to Ubuntu. However, the initialization has failed before he arrived at the office.

Then started to Windows 7 (on the same machine, multiboot). Yet once again, began to start Desktop but bluescreened before that he (0 x 00000019 which seems to refer to the memory problem)

Reinstall all the RAM sticks and tried again with the same result.

Replaced the 4 GB of RAM has low gear and everything was fine.

So, is the RAM purchased dubious quality or not my E520 simply not accept RAM DDR2 - 800 MHz?

In the interest of anyone else might have the same problem or similar, I put the 4 sticks of RAM to the reseller and received four sticks of replacements of the same specification.

And they work perfectly in my Dimension E520.

Thus, in response to my original question, the absence of start-up stems from a faulty RAM.

  • Compaq Presario CQ60-220US - 800 MHz RAM?

Hey guys, quick question. I know the CQ60-220US comes with 2 GB 667 MHz RAM 5 CASE, I'm looking to upgrade & I was wondering if it will support 800 MHz RAM 5 CASES.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Yes, it should support the memory at 800 MHz, but it will operate at the speed of 667 MHz because it is the speed of the FSB of the processor you have.

Use the selection tool memory from Crucial.com to find the memory you need.  You can use the menu drop-down or the automatic scanner.

What ram to games / high performance type can support this model...

Hello... Quote "backward compatible with 533 MHz and 667 MHz speeds - does that mean..?
System itself works in 667 MHz... even when you buy and install a 800 MHz Memory Stick... it works with 667 MHz... machine will become not faster, but won't work that means backward compatible...

    800 = 6400 see table...

    Hello people,

Anyone know if my X 200 - 21U Satego really suports memory DDR2 800? In the site of the shop I bought my laptop, there is a possibility to install 4096 MB DDR2 (2 x 2 048) 800 MHz. Is this possible or just a scam or a mistake of the shop? What happens if it doesn\t support and I install anyway?

Can I upgrade my computer memory laptop dv7-3065dx to 8 GB?

Here are the specifications of your laptop HP dv7-3065dx. According to the specifications, the maximum memory that can be installed is 8 GB. According to Service and Maintenance Guide, you must run 2 x 4 GB SODIMM PC2-6400, 800 MHz, DDR2 at the most from the system.

  • Upgrade memory R60: 667 or 800 mhz?

I intend to upgrade the memory of my R60.

They have has two options, which are equal cost:

    -2x2gb DDR2 PC2 - 6400 CL5 (800 mhz)

    -2x2gb DDR2 PC2-5300 (667 MHz) CL4

two of them kingston HyperX or ValueRAM

I think I have the 800 mhz version, which could be "more compatible" with perhaps of future machines, but only if they work in my R60 course at 667 mhz (ideally to CL4, but I don't like).

Is this possible? There are problems to be expected?

    Thanks for your help!

R60 to 667 mhz, but the version 800 ram usage will work also, but only to the 667 mhz speed.

  • HP mini 110-3100 upgrade of ram: DDR2 PC2-6400 or DDR2 PC2-5300

I just want to know which is best for my netbook, and especially what is the difference between the TWO in terms of performance or right ' after' installation. Thank you.

    Hello:

PC2-6400 memory is faster than PC2-5300 FSB speed.

Where possible, PC2-6400 memory running at 800 MHz and PC2-5300 runs at 667 MHz.

It is a moot point with regard to your laptop, as the processor has a speed of 667 MHz front bus.

This means the faster, memory back communicates with the processor at 667 MHz.

So you want to install at least the PC2-5300 memory, but it of OK to install memory PC2-6400, being understood as the PC2-6400 memory, since it is backward compatible, will be automatically "downclock" at the speed of the FSB of the processor (667 Mhz).

Accordingly, there is no performance difference between the two speeds of memory in your particular computer.

  • Upgrade memory 667 MHz to 800 MHz on a SP P200HD-1DV

    Satellite Pro P200HD-1DV dating 2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB RAM * 667 MHz DDR2 *.

Fact DDR2 * 800 MHz * work on this laptop?

It will be worth spending the money to make this upgrade as a significant difference in my speed of laptops?

What memory should I put in to get the most out of my laptop?

    Any comment is appreciated.
    Thank you.

For more of your laptop just use compatible and recommended memory module. For your laptop model, you must use:
    -1 GB-DDR2-667-PA3512U-1M1G
    -2 GB-DDR2-667-PA3513U-1M2G
Put this number in Google and search for stores where you can order.
