    Hello

    I stupidly deleted my file of all programs on the start menu (by chance).
    He emptied the folder programs on the start menu through Explorer windows as well.

    I still have access to all of my programs seeking for them or through the program files. How can I rebuild my Start menu to the original WITHOUT reinstalling windows or something like that.

    Unfortunately, I can't do a restore because it is configured to do a clean up of all old restore points, and he did it about 5 minutes before the problem occurred.

    The elements of the start menu are a few shortcuts to the files on the C: drive you mention.  Done that caused all the elements of Start Menu to disappear?  This is sometimes caused by viruses that hide items on the computer, make sure that the computer is virus free, run a Malwarebytes scan on the machine.  If the machine is free virus that then I suggest that you do a system restore to a point just before the problem started.

    IM using Vista Ultimate with Aero theme. I am a single user of this computer. Hello Serresjio I can almost guarantee you that the troubleshooting steps will flip over as soon as you start back. my suggestion is if possible, remove the hard drive and the scanner on another computer with Malware Bytes Anti Malware, Avast! Antivirus and Spybot Search and Destroy, AVG etc. (all updates of course). usually, I use this method when everything has failed. Don't be too surprised boyfriend so often that I have a USB-(e sata, 1394, 2.5"/5.25 IDE) converter for the toughest jobs.

    Everything do you to not lose hope and format as most of the people do. I have corrected problems of windows than most irreparable thought technicians. It's just a matter of removing the cause and repair the damaged windows files. the problem can be solved the difficulty is just to use the proper tools/software. Lately I use Avast and MBAM with 100% recovery. It IS not JUST a single unrecoverable machine!

  • Start the list of all menu Programs - folder accidentally moved to the desktop

    I just got a new computer with Windows 7.  I accidentally dragged a folder in the "all programs" list in the start menu on the desktop.  I just wanted to create a shortcut, but accidentally moved the folder instead.  How do I restore the folder to the list of "all programs"?

    Hello

    That is not a problem and it is easy to retrieve.  You are going to want to go where the files and folders are stored in your Start menu and the best way to do this is to open your Start menu, go to all programs and on another folder with the right mouse button and choose explore.  This will put you in the location wherever the folders and shortcuts are stored.  From there, just move up a level and move the backrest to the workstation and you should be good.

    For more information, there are 2 folders that make up what you see in the menu start, a common (or public) and a private.  Both get merged to give a smooth.

    The common (public), one is to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program

    and the private sector, one is C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    Files above are below hidden folders so you will need to first enable the option to view hidden folders and files, but the right click Explore method is the best way to get there anyway.

    Finally, if you want to create a shortcut to a folder on the start menu, find it and then right click and choose "send to".  Under this menu, you will see an option to create a shortcut on the desktop.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck & enjoy Windows 7

    I was trying to organize my folders in the program file in the start menu. How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • Office Visio ceases to make an appearance in the list more comprehensive term used start menu programs.
    Windows Start Menu Properties is suitable to store and display recently opened programs in the Start Menu.
    Only Office Visio ceased to show in the list, but I have used this quite frequently * compared to other programs *.
    I manually reset the list by unchecking and rechecking the box Start Menu Properties .
    Then I started Visio two or three times and he had still not showed.
    I start my Internet browser, and it appears in the first list time.
    What explanation for the behavior described? Is there a way to get Office Visio to be recounted in on the list of programs?
