  I'm working on an application where many different types of devices will be put into a test set-up for Board level testing.  Depending on the type of Board, I need to create an ordered list of all necessary tests for the device.  I have a state machine and a single State for each of the tests and try to figure out how to create a list of tests for the specific device.  I want to have control in each of the States to remove the first element of the list and then take the next value and he lead the shift register used to go from one State to the other.  This should allow the state machine switch to the appropriate State based on the type of device and its sequence of necessary test.

  It should be with a table?  Is there some containers easier to work with this use case?  I need a container that will allow me to easily add between 5 and 30 names of State (based on the needs of the unit type) and easily remove or increment a pointer to the next State in the container.

  an array of string or "enum" comes to mind. You can use it for the selection of States.

  You have to transfer data?

  Another way would be a queue. You can read the States with the enqueue function.

• create a list of "buttons."

  I am creating a list of "Buttons", I use the term as I want to reproduce the behavior of a button, but it is created dynamically.  For example I return data as xml, I am a loop nodes and create buttons for each node I find.  The button will be implemented in the following way

  When you click one of these buttons, it will redirect to another page.  What would be the best way to create these buttons?  I am new to Java and BB, I don't require exact code that I am happy to learn, however some tips in the right direction would be great.

  Can you tell me what gives you the idea that you cannot create controls (I suppose you mean the fields to use the terminology of BlackBerry) dynamically.

  As far as I know, there is no RIM provided the fields that you cannot dynamically create.  In your case, I proposed two options, both use RIM provided fields.  Then you should be OK.

  However, I'm guessing that you look at some code like this:

  class MyScreen extends form {}

  ...

  BasicEditField myField1 = BasicEditField (...) new

  BasicEditField myField2 = BasicEditField (...) new

  ...

  private void processEnter() {}

  If {(myField2.gettext (.equals("Fred")))

  ...

  }

  In this case to refer directly to myField1, then Yes, you have it is defined.  But you don't have to write code like this, you can create a vector in which you put all the controls and manage them yourself.  It is more difficult, of course, but more flexible.  And code like above is often very difficult to treat.

  So if you want to design your application as in the example I gave above, then you will need to "preset" all fields.

  However, if you think that you may need 100 custom fields, then I suggest that you look at the ListField idea.  Insofar as you have only one field, it uses the same "logic to display" to display the entries that give you it.  So if you have 20 entries, it shows 20 lines, if you have 100 entries, it will display 100 lines.

  ListField is not trivial to use, but I think it will be much easier than the redefined option you are currently considering.  And it's very effective.

  So my recommendation is that you try to make this request using the ListField.

• LiveCycle ES2 data drop-down list issue

  I'm trying to make a dynamic form based on a table in SQL 2008R2 database. I need to have a list that fills the data drop-down list database and then when this list item is selected, fill the rest of the document from the fields of the database based on the selection in the drop-down list. I understand the drop must be linked to the data connection, but I can't get the list items to act as if the documentation says they should. Here's what I've done so far:

  1. under tools/options that I have appointed the data binding should display dynamic content.

  2. I have created a data connection to the database and can see all the fields of data in the data view tab, and can also put these fields in the document.

  3 when I place the list on the drop-down list data form, I indicates the list to be bound to the data connection that I created previously, and the tab link has this: ' $record. DataConnection. databasefield'.»

  4. from what I understand, the field tab, list items should be a green hypertext link, and it isn't. I have no idea why, or how do I have to do from here.

  I also asked a lot of the software, or am I missing something to make it happen. I have struggled with this for a few days now and I am ready to move on for reporting. If anyone can help?

  I opened your form and looked at the XML properties in the LiveCycle. I noticed that your form is only a form interactive but not considered a dynamic form.

  In order to use the dynamic properties option, you need to create a dynamic form.

  Unfortunately, your form is in fact an image and have no objects with the exception of the fields, so I did a quick for you.

  I suggest you create a new form and redo the form.

  Make sure you have dynamic properties when creating the new form, I don't know if master pages is the trick to get a PDF be interactive with the dynamic properties

  I'm trying to create a simple list of the order of the day in Adobe Muse with about 4 rows that includes the date, time and description for each line.

  How can I create a list like this? It would be great if my client to add a new course (with date and discription) in chronological order.

  Registration for the course and nothing is not required.

  Is is possible to build a list like this in the Muse?

  You can not dynamic stuff in Muse with the exception of third-party widgets. Everything else requires a dynamic interface, so no, you want to do is not possible. You can of course keep a list manually, built from whatever elements you deem appropriate.

  I don't see a way to do this with {module_cataloguelistdump catalogId = "-2"}. Cat says there is not a way to do this. I took a liquid available for this module and it doesn't give me the name and the URL.

  In the search for ways to recreate a list as I would like it to appear (without having to manually code) I realized that I can use {module_data} to the list catalogues. When I run the text according to {module_data}

  I know how to browse the data, but what I'm not sure how to do is to browse the data, check the ID of the parent, if it is not equal to-1 then the match to the correct parent so building my list. The part I'm not sure of it corresponding to the identifier parent with ID to form my list correctly.

  If - 1, it is a root element, if it is not then it is a sub so you can create it like this.

  The other element is just the loop where you specify an another module_data where parentID = ID OF the ELEMENT IN YOUR, and then what is there.

  Similar to how build you and build your own out of menu when you read as a collection.

• Cannot merge data files in a spreadsheet on secure document

  I created a form in Acrobat X Pro. The form was guaranteed first with a password to restrict editing, allowing just Fill-in form fields. Then save file by activating features enabled and save the file. Everything works Ok: cannot change the shape and allows me to record, but when I use merge data files into spreadsheet to export data, the exported CSV file is empty. Cannot export data. So I tried to remove the protection by password but received the following message:

  You cannot change the security on this document because the document is signed or certified.

  Can I do to solve this problem? No more was able to export the data or the deletion of protection.

  The next time you add security, select the option 'Enable copying of text, images and other content' If you want to be able to export the form data.

  As is the case, you should be able to "file > save a copy" and then remove the security.

• Live captions to help merge data

  Got a problem that I hope you data-mergers there can help me with, wrt legends Live.

  My merge data file contains text and image links that all import very well, fortunately to create my document of 30 pages of my 30 csv file line.
  I would now like to 'live' to the image that the "metadata" below the photo caption.  So Ive who put up and everything works very well on my test example where I just paste the image in my image of the document placeholder, the legend is filled correctly.

  BUT when I try to do it via a data merge, the text and the image is correctly positioned, but my the legend box is not. Then realized in order for this legend is filled, I needed to select the menu option ' legends > generate Live Caption "so that the box caption text to be updated."
  However, I have ultimately about 230 lines of datamerge photo links so don't really like the idea of having to be updated for each image, especially if the metadata are constantly being updated.

  Is there something I'm doing wrong, or maybe a global setting that ive missed?

  Data fusion is much longer than the Live captions feature. When LUKE came out, merge data was not converted to endure.

  I'm a total newb using merge data in indesign. I watched the video "Automating a catalog with data merge" and found very useful. I created a catalog for an auto parts company, so I have a file csv with a field for the brand, model, year range, part number. I use Make as a header and other information below. I don't want no repetition of brand (Honda) again and again.

  Although this can be easily accomplished in a data merge, it's probably not the right way (data fusion) to borrow in the production of a catalogue.

  First suggestion: Catalog Plugin

  Second suggestion: If the cost of the additional software is a problem, look in the XML workflow

• Merge data error - no present placeholders

  My document merge data has 8 fields on the Master Page. I can preview records, enabling / disabling scroll records (there are twelve).

  Create errors in Document merged with "Cannot create a merged document because no placeholders are present".

  I checked the fields several times; cursor in a field shows correct on the Panel to merge data. My csv source is updated.

  I exported an inx CS3 and CS4 even errors. Saved the csv to txt, tab delimited, file deleted from the Data Source and select the data source, a txt file, identical results.

  It is a fusion of data record 12... could be recording more than all this 5 times now, but if it's a problem, I feel compelled to fix it.

  Win Vista, CS3 and CS4 fully connected to the channel 5.0.4 & 6.0.6

  

  Something weird, but easily fixed. Go to the master page and cut the frame with the fields, then paste in place. They should then display and the merge will take place.

• To persist data in a list or tree

  Conduct integrated drag-and-drop mx:List and mx:Tree works perfectly with regard to the Visual effects of drag-and-drop. But I need to retain the changed data (dataProvider) of the target mx:List and mx:Tree model. What is the best practice to achieve this?
  
  "Best practices", I hope to use the built-in DND of mx:List and mx:Tree support and somehow be notified of the change of data created by the fall of data. Better yet, I don't want to extend the mx.controls.List/Tree class so that I can take full advantage of < mx:List > and < mx:Tree > tags. (I tried to extend mx.controls.List to override the methods protected; then < my: list > accepts no more < mx:itemRenderer >.)
  
  It is a fairly common use of list/tree drag-n-drop case, but I had trouble reaching, or am I missing something obvious?

  That's right, I can override dragCompleteHandler() to do my own things before calling the Super in my case, my actions will be on the currentTarget instead.

  RMAN from checking if the data target files share the same names that duplicate files are used

  but I use different directory

  / u01/data_new/clonetest of the duplicate database

  / u01/data/BINGO database target

  I think that, when you use no nofilenamecheck clause, RMAN assumes that there is a copy of the backup file also exist at the location of backup of the clone, and in this case there is no backup file it is therefore failed. If you could have copied the location of primary backup file to clone is then probably you could not get the error.
